00:13A woman has died in hospital following an alleged assault in Edinburgh.
00:17A 55-year-old man was arrested in connection with the assault
00:20after police were called to Restylrig Avenue at around 1am on Thursday, August 28th.
00:26Detective Inspector Kevin Tate said,
00:28Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman at this extremely difficult time.
00:33There will be a continued police presence in the area while our investigations continue.
00:38And I would urge anyone with any concerns or information to approach these officers.
00:44Edinburgh Bar Manager hits out after Roadworks Block Pub entrance for eight months.
00:49An Edinburgh Bar Manager has taken aim at the council after being fenced in since the beginning of the year.
00:54Graham Parsons, who runs the Roseleaf Bar Café, said ongoing works in Sandport Place
00:59have led to a decline in passing trade, which he described as the lifeblood of the hospitality sector.
01:06The fences outside the bar have now been in place for nearly eight months.
01:10The council has advised the barriers will be removed within the next few weeks.
01:13Prices for Edinburgh's new cycle hire scheme have been published as Operator Voy Gears Up for its launch next Wednesday.
01:26The company's pay-as-you-go rate will be 11p per minute, meaning an hour on the bike will cost £6.60.
01:31Packages of minutes, which the firm calls bundles, will also be available with a 45-minute package,
01:38valid for one day, costing £2.99.
01:41The scheme will launch on Wednesday, September 3rd, with 80 bikes set to be placed on city streets that morning.
