00:00I headed along to Edinburgh's iconic Castle View Bar, which has recently crowned Scotland's best beer destination for the first time at this year's Scottish Beer Awards.
00:11Coal Townhouse in the Grass Market was awarded the top accolade by a panel of brewing industry experts from across the country, much to the delight of the team at Coal Townhouse.
00:21I mean, it feels absolutely amazing. We've done a lot of work to get to where we are now. Just in the last year, we've launched our Grass Market Beer Festival.
00:33We've got our fourth one coming up, which is amazing. All of them are pretty much sold out, so it's been a really popular one.
00:41Obviously, we've got our live test kitchen downstairs, which is a really sort of unique business model for us.
00:48It means we can get live feedback from our customers and sort of give the public what they want.
00:54So I think this is just a testament to all of the hard work we've been doing, and I think it's really well deserved by the team.
01:01While enjoying the incredible views of Edinburgh Castle from the rooftop bar at Coal Townhouse, I also found out more about the Grass Market pub's unique in-house microbrewery.
01:11So Coal Townhouse is very unique. Destination is Scotland. We have our own microbrewery.
01:17Here we get to experiment with different beers. It's the freshest pint we've got in Edinburgh.
01:23So it's brewed in-house and goes straight to our seven tanks behind the bar.
01:29Hayley took me on a behind-the-scenes exclusive tour of the multi-level pub in the Grass Market to see the microbrewery for myself.
01:37She told me more about the process of how the beer goes straight from these tanks, straight down to the taproom down the stairs for punters to enjoy.
01:49So after a great tour of Coal Townhouse, what better we have to finish off with a wee drink.
