00:02The next step today, let's talk about our douchebag
00:05of the day, I mean, in addition to the usual suspects.
00:07Right, because this French influencer
00:08just got sent to jail for a prank
00:10where he faked syringe attacks on strangers.
00:13And so you have this guy who goes by the name
00:14Amin Mojito going viral for filming and posting video clips
00:17where he could be seen sneaking up on people on the street
00:20and then pretending to inject them with an empty syringe.
00:22Right, and specifically, we saw those videos
00:23starting to gain a lot of traction
00:25ahead of the World Music Day celebration back in June.
00:27The time, which if you don't remember,
00:28was where France was gripped by panic over rumors
00:31and needle attacks at festivals and student parties.
00:33And so with all that, you had prosecutors
00:34bringing charges against him and alleging
00:36that he had contributed to and incited real fears,
00:39even if the syringes were empty.
00:40Right, and also with that, they argued
00:41that he was a repeat offender, noting that he had been accused
00:43of assault and harassing others in the past.
00:45But Mojito, for his part, he argued that he was, quote,
00:48in his own world and unaware of everything.
00:50And he told the court, quote,
00:51I had the very bad idea of doing these pranks
00:53by imitating what I saw on the internet in Spain and Portugal.
00:56I didn't think it could hurt people.
00:57That was my mistake.
00:58I didn't think about others.
00:59I thought about myself.
01:00But ultimately, the Paris criminal court convicted Mojito
01:03of violence with a weapon not resulting in working capacity.
01:05And with that, they sentenced him to 12 months in jail,
01:08six of which it will be suspended.
01:09And the court also fined him 1,500 euros,
01:11and they banned him from possessing or carrying a gun
01:13for three years.
01:14But I guess all of that brings us to that classic advice,
01:16but it's necessary on the daily.
01:19Don't be stupid, stupid.
01:21And honestly, I think more so-called pranksters
01:23that are really just harassing people out in public,
01:26they need to face penalties so that it can be a lesson for others.
