00:00Hey guys, it's me, Yaya Diamond. What's up people? How you doing? It is a positive day and I am so
00:21very excited to be here with my next guest today. She is an author and she has written a book called
00:27D.E.U.S. And I'm going to put that up there so you can see it because you have to see. So this is the
00:35book right here is D.E.U.S. Children. And I really got to, I have to find out what's going on with
00:45this because this looks like up my alley. I absolutely love sci-fi and I am an avid book
00:50reader for sure. And I'm just so excited to have her on the show today. So I want to welcome her.
00:56Her name is Lior and I don't want to say her last name because I might torture it because I'm very
01:01bad at last names. But Lior is a beautiful name and I want to welcome her to the show. Thank you
01:05so much for joining me from Israel. Hello. So I wanted to know, you know, there's so many different
01:15reasons why people start writing books, you know, and not everybody does it either. I mean, there's
01:20just that just don't write a book even though they could. But what was it that made you start? I mean,
01:28what was that thing that says, oh, I got to write this? In general, the first thing that came to mind
01:35was like probably a dream that I had like one night and I just like, I need to write this.
01:42And then it like took a few years to actually finish it. I got you. I got you. What inspired
01:55the core promises of the gods being abused in science, creating modified humans sent to war?
02:01I mean, what? Just dream. Okay. This had to be a dream. I mean, the main inspiration would be funnily
02:11enough, 1984. Oh, the most extreme example of dystopia in like war-torn world that just it like kind of
02:22inspired me to like try and both have fantasy and sci-fi combined and like see how the people that grow
02:32up in those types of systems, how do they think what their trauma, how do they build their life
02:38from that trauma? Oh my gosh, that is so cool. Like, okay, you got to tell me the dream. Did it wake you up? I mean,
02:48how deep was this dream for you to actually? Oh, it was very deep. It was very deep. It was.
02:56Tell me about it. It's like the dream. Well, I don't remember it now. It felt real. It felt like
03:04something that I need to write down and record it basically. It was very, very deep. I just.
03:15It was to the point that I didn't wake up at all. It just felt real. Wow. Okay. You tend to have real
03:25dreams. That is too cool. Okay. Especially you dreaming sci-fi. I mean, you seriously dream in sci-fi.
03:33When did you start doing that? Sci-fi fantasy both, both at the same time. I, I have quite, um,
03:40quite this like physical dreams that it just, when I opened my eyes, just wait, this didn't happen.
03:52Oh my gosh. No. Okay. So wait, so how did you come up with your powers or was that part of the dream? I
03:58mean, what part of the dream was not in the dream that you wrote in the book?
04:02Um, mainly constructing the characters, all three of them and like two more extra. Um,
04:12the, all three of them are kind of separate, different parts of who I am, but also to the extreme of
04:21what, what personality they have. Uh, those are the types that I didn't have in the dream, but I
04:29basically visualize them as I drew them. I did draw them, but those are like more doodles than, uh,
04:39something that I would put in the book. I hear you. Wow. That is amazing. I mean, I, I, I don't dream
04:48like that. So I wish I did. Cause then that would be like writing books like, yeah, I mean like crazy.
04:53So, okay. So each character has their own power. How did you, how did you kind of do they compliment
05:01each other? Do they kind of clash at times? They compliment their partners. Okay. Each of them
05:08has a partner that they compliment as either the opposite or like basically a concept that you,
05:17you, um, is like when they, they start negative as a, as a source and then they change for the person
05:29that they want to be. Wow. And so you do have like distinct territories in your book, like Western
05:38unity, Southern empire. How did that come about? I mean, cause I know that you said that the dream didn't
05:44have a lot again, it's similar to the idea of 1984. Wow. Okay. I got you. I got you. And Pangea in a way
05:53and Pangea like, uh, the continent. Okay. All right. I would actually literally have nightmares if somebody
06:01told me that that was my dream. When you woke up, did you immediately know that you had to write this
06:07or did it take time for you to kind of grasp the subject? I mainly immediately wrote like the
06:15schematics of the characters, like how, how their personality, what, uh, what I want them to be and
06:22drew them. Okay. And you have like, you have like myth and science in there. Yes. I mean, is there real
06:31science or is there like just a science? I wouldn't say it's real science. It's more like fantasy level
06:37science because they merge, um, legendary beasts with, with DNA of humans, mythical beasts and stuff
06:48that is like, this is crazy. I love it. Yeah. I can't imagine. I literally did.
06:56That is so, so freaking cool. That is just cool. I'm sorry. I mean, you got, you got me geeking out.
07:06I have like two, like one prequel and one sequel in the making. Oh my gosh. Okay. So, okay. So there's
07:14like, like, there's like features of time looping and stuff in there. Tell me about the book. Tell me.
07:20Yeah. Yeah. The time loop. Yeah. The time looping is basically something that happens with a separate
07:30character that finally got free of their own cycle. And that's how the cycle finally broke for every
07:42type of loop that happened. Wow. And okay. So the, the three of them are considered heaven curse.
07:53Uh, heavenly beasts. Yes. Heavenly beasts. Okay. So tell me, I mean, the theory in all of that behind it,
08:01you know, you said it took you a few years to actually do it when you looked at it and it was completed.
08:07Did, did you, did you, did you have to live it while you did it? I mean, how did you, I mean,
08:13I don't know. Oh my gosh. While I wrote, I literally felt what the characters felt. I did like the,
08:21like, uh, the research of how the, how like the extreme types of mental disorders affect them. So I,
08:29it similarly kind of affected me too. Real life situations, if any, did you chat, did you challenge
08:40yourself to write in this book? Um, I mainly just, oh, I have this idea. I will jot it down. Oh,
08:48I have this idea for like the chapter. I will jot it down. Stuff like that. It's just like very,
08:54very, very like, you can say sometimes impulsive, sometimes quote unquote forced so I can actually
09:01finish the book. I got you. I got you. And who in this book is more like you?
09:07Um, the most similar would be the first character you meet the red one. Um, she's, um,
09:20she suffered quite a bit similar to what I have in a way of, um, sexual assault.
09:28Well, I'm so sorry. Yeah. I'm so sorry. I mean, I don't, I don't know many women who haven't.
09:37Unfortunately, that's depressing. It is. And I have, and majority of my friends have as well.
09:44So, you know, I, I commend you for actually tackling that because that's hard to do.
09:48Also like that particular character is timid and like people pleasing to the extreme. And, um,
09:57basically denies herself her own freedoms for like quite a bit. She like denies herself freedom
10:09because she never got the option to have it. Wow. Well, that is absolutely crazy.
10:17But that is a serious part of the book. Yes. You know, um, mental issues. Did you challenge yourself
10:23to write any of those in there? I know you just said, but what were they? Um, in case of like the,
10:32in case of, uh, the red lizard girl, uh, she had, um, opposite of me, she became hyper sexualized.
10:41Like she became more like offered herself to give herself to the higher ups, basically.
10:51Uh, the, the guy, the golden guy, he became an alcoholic and to deny himself, uh, pain and, um,
11:02um, like to feel anymore, his guilt, his shame, his overconfidence that costed him.
11:13So he became like similar to smiling depression. And during when he's like drinking, he's like,
11:23he's like completely numb. Wow.
11:26Uh, and, uh, the third would be unmedicated and like, uncare, basically uncaring, but still very
11:36charismatic. He has a team to basically sabotage anything that he can sabotage under the sea at least.
11:45Oh my gosh. Wow. Wow.
11:49That must have taken you back to some certain situations in your life. How did you deal with
11:54that? How did, how did that, how did that help heal you a little bit?
11:57It healed me to see, to write down how they grow out of those traumas, out of the desperation of
12:09living what they suffered from, not living, like improving themselves.
12:17Yeah. Yeah. And did you improve yourself as you began fighting?
12:24Because they improved during my writing, I healed myself and I think I improved.
12:31Yeah. I mean, it's like therapy with my own characters.
12:35Yeah, definitely. And you can't, you know, going through that, you know, I could, I could see that
12:40that could possibly take you back to those same timeframes and situations, but also give you that
12:47healing, uh, that you probably needed so much. That's probably why you dreamed about this.
12:52So that is kind of cool. Go ahead. It's like I had continuous dreams. Sometimes I have continuous
13:00dreams of the story. So when I wake up, I write those down. You are just too blessed. Okay.
13:07That is crazy. I can't do that. Like I'm, I'm sporadic. I don't have like continual dreams of something.
13:16I need what you got.
13:20So when people read this and if they did read this, what do you want them to take away when
13:27they finish this book? And also you do have the other, uh, the other books coming soon, right?
13:32Uh, it will take a while, but I am working on it. I just am swamped with work and I am, I need to sit
13:43down and write like the schematics for both books. I need to start with one and then do another. And
13:51it's chaotic, but I, I really feel like I need to make it happen because it's like, it's like a whole,
14:03like multiverse of characters, not specifically just this world. There are multiple, uh, universe,
14:11like dimensions of, of, yeah, dimensions. Yeah. Like worlds. Yeah. Different galaxies, worlds and stuff
14:20like that. Yes. I got you. I got you. I got you. And that's more like cosmic ideas compared to, um, I mean,
14:31it's, uh, it's a bit complicated to explain, but they're like, but there are gods beyond those three,
14:38for example. I got you. And they're gods. So they could jump from like anywhere, anything to be anything,
14:44to be anybody, whatever. They were, they were born incomplete. And the moment that they found the,
14:53their other half, they, they, not just necessarily one half, it's like to complete themselves, they had
15:04to get out of the situation they were already in. I got you. I got you. Wow. So when people read this,
15:12will it help heal them and also entertain them? I sure hope so, because I had a lot of fun writing it.
15:21That must've been great. And I, and I, I think you did, because this, this seems like it's an amazing
15:26book and it's got all of the pieces in there that a lot of reality has, but also fantasy, but also
15:35sci-fi. So that's like, I mean, that's just like, to me, that's everything I need. That's it. So,
15:43oh my gosh, is there anything that we missed today that you'd like to say to the listeners?
15:47You are never alone. You will find yourself after you actually can understand, after you understand
16:01yourself, you can heal yourself and you can show it to the world. That was beautiful. That was beautiful.
16:09I want to thank you so much for being on the show, show the order. It's just been such a pleasure
16:21having you. And, uh, the book here, you guys know is D E U S with dots D dot E dot U dot S children.
16:31And you could check that out right there on Amazon. I'm going to put the link in the description so that
16:36it'll be easy for you guys to find it and to read it. And hopefully one day you will be able to dream
16:44it. I'm not going to guarantee that though, because Leora is a little different than all of us.
16:51This is a little different where she can actually write a book out of her dreams. And then tomorrow
16:56it continues. I don't get it. I want the dreams like that. I want a continuous one dream like that
17:02when I want it so that I can do the same thing. That would be amazing. I don't choose my dreams.
17:09They choose me. Oh, see, she backed out on me there. Leora, thank you so much for being on the show.
17:16I appreciate it. And thank you guys so much for tuning in. Don't forget to dare to be different.
17:21And until next time, guys. Bye. Leora, you were great.
