00:00Welcome everyone. So yes, a lot of people thought that the answer for this one is supposed to be 2.
00:05Because see, 1 upon 4 multiplied by 8, this is cancelling, this is 2s are.
00:10So 4 divided by 2, the answer is supposed to be 2.
00:13No, that is not how these things work.
00:15In mathematics, there are certain rules which we need to always abide by.
00:20That means division and multiplication always hold equal precedence.
00:24Okay, no matter whether you are following BODMAS or are you following PEMDES.
00:29In both the cases, one thing is very very clear that BODMAS and PEMDES say that division and multiplication hold equal precedence.
00:38So in sums like these, you have to go from left to right.
00:42Whatever operation happens first on your left hand side has to be done first.
00:46So 4 divided by 1 by 4 is the first thing which we need to figure out.
00:51Now since there is a fraction involved, we will follow the rule of KCF in order to rule our division.
00:55Which means 4, K stands for keeping the first number as it is.
01:00C stands for changing the division sign to multiplication.
01:04F stands for flipping or taking reciprocal of 1 upon 4 which is 4 multiplied by 8.
01:09So this is getting you 16 multiplied by 8.
01:13So the answer for this question is supposed to be 128.
01:20I hope this is very very clear to everyone.
01:24That's it for today.
01:25I will see you in the next video.
