00:00Welcome everyone. So yes, this is a word problem which lot of people misunderstood that the question is 3 is what percent of 12.
00:08So when you have something like this in a word problem, you need to represent this into its mathematical form.
00:14So 3 is means equal to what percent let the percent be x upon 100. Right. And of means multiplication 12. Right.
00:23So next what we need to do is to find the value of x. Correct. So we will multiply both sides by 100 and divide both sides by 12.
00:32So what happens in that case is we have gotten the variable on one side. OK. Because all these 12 and 100 are cancelling.
00:42And at this point we have 1s and 4s. 1s and 25s. So we can say therefore x is 25 means I can say therefore 3 is 25 percent of 12.
00:57So let's try and see if that is true. So 25 percent of 12. OK. That is what 1s are, 4s are, 1s are and 3s are.
01:11And that is the answer. What? That is what the answer was given in the question as well.
01:15So here we can say the value of x is 25 percent. I hope this is very very clear to everyone.
01:23That's it for today. I will see you in the next video.
