00:00Welcome everyone. So today we are going to understand why the answer for this question is not supposed to be 300.

00:06Say 200 minus 50 is 150 and 1 plus 1 is 2 and there is no sign between 50 and the bracket that means it is multiplication.

00:15Then the answer comes out to be 300. This could have worked if this entire thing was also in a bracket.

00:20But since that was not given in the original question, so obviously that's not how we are supposed to solve this question.

00:26So in these kind of questions, we need to follow the rules of BODMAS or PEMDIS.

00:32In both the cases, it's very important to realize that highest precedence is given to brackets or parenthesis.

00:39So we will keep the rest of the question as it is.

00:42And there is no sign between 50 and the bracket means it is multiplication and the bracket is 1 plus 1 which is 2.

00:47Now remember division and multiplication hold higher precedence than addition and subtraction.

00:52So in sums like these, we need to do first the multiplication.

00:5650 multiplied by 2 is 100.

00:58200 minus 100, the answer for this question is supposed to be just 100.
