00:00A former CEO of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia,

00:05Khairuddin Rahim, has filed a defamation suit against the organization and its current CEO, Andrew Lee.

00:12The suit, filed yesterday at the Shah Alam Sessions Court through lawyer Thomas Philipp,

00:17comes after four A's and Lee allegedly failed to comply with a July 17 letter of demand.

00:23Khairuddin said the demand sought a public apology, damages,

00:27and removal of a press statement and internal memo he claims are defamatory.

00:32He said the press statement published on May 30 on 4A's website and the memo,

00:38circulated to members on June 16, contained false and misleading claims.

00:43According to Khairuddin, the materials implied he was dishonest, untrustworthy,

00:48and had lied about his 2015 CEO appointment process.

00:52He said the statements had severely harmed his credibility and reputation

00:56built over 50 years in the advertising industry.
