00:00Former MCA Vice President Tilian Kerr has hit out at Barca National Chairman Ahmad Zayed

00:05Hamidi, accusing him of being ungrateful after Zayed said some MCA leaders wanted to leave

00:10the coalition because they did not get their toys. He reminded Zayed that MCA and MIC stayed

00:16loyal to BN even after the coalition's crushing loss in the 2018 general election,

00:21which ended its 61-year rule. He added that both parties stayed with BN even when its image

00:26suffered further from corruption charges against UMNO leaders, including Zayed himself and his

00:31conditional discharge. Zayed claimed yesterday that several MCA and MIC leaders were pushing for

00:37their parties to quit BN as they were unhappy about not receiving toys. MCA President Wee Ka-siung,

00:44however, denied that the party had demanded toys, saying it sought only respect and fair treatment.

00:49He said Zayed's remarks went against BN's core values of respect and teamwork,

00:54adding that under Zayed's leadership, the coalition has become more about self-preservation
