00:00One other thing I want to talk about from today that was an interesting storyline that kind of developed was on the 13th hole.
00:08It was a match that I was walking with Cam Young and Justin Rose, which was a pivotal match in trying to get red on the board early.
00:15And Cam, he's coming off of a win where it was gifted a hole at the 12th, where he's three up now, heading into 13.
00:24And Rosie gets the mini driver out, has like 290 to the pin at 13.
00:30Hits this big old tailing right shot.
00:32If you've been to the 13th, the Bethpage, it's a huge slope right of the green.
00:36And the ball went 75 yards right of the pin all the way down to the hill in some, almost some bricks that had some grass in between it.
00:45But clear relief was given.
00:48So wait, okay, can I pause here?
00:49Because that's why there was that long stop from the group behind it where they came up to the green.
00:53That's what was happening.
00:54You want to know what happened?
00:55All right.
00:55So they get down there, and there's this little patch of grass behind where the bricks are.
01:03So Justin Rose has an opportunity to drop on this steep slope that the ball is going to be above his feet, take a drop.
01:11And really, the only way he was going to have a shot is if the drop rolled out of the tee line.
01:18So you've got to keep it within the tees or if it gets on the cart path, then you get to place it.
01:23And so I'm thinking to myself, I think it's steep enough to where he's going to be able to drop it close enough to his tee.
01:28The ball is going to roll down the hill, and he's going to place it.
01:31And he's going to have a difficult shot, but he's got an alleyway and an opportunity.
01:37And Cam Young was inside of 10 feet.
01:38And so he takes one drop, and now this is five minutes into the whole process.
01:43Like, it's taking too long.
01:45And all of a sudden, before he takes his second drop, there were questions asked, whether it was from Justin or his caddy Fooch and a rules official standing by,
01:54of looking at potentially other options instead of dropping it again.
01:58And so now all of a sudden, Fooch is now running up to the green to look at potentially moving to take a drop on the tee at 14.
02:09So with that structure behind 14, you had an option to take no closer to the hole, nearest point of relief, and go drop it on the tee at 14.
02:20So we're talking about 30 to 50 yards over on the other side on top of the hill.
02:26And Fooch walked off a yardage all the way to the tee at 14, but it made no sense to me at all that we're wasting this much time because there were trees in the way.
02:35It never seemed like an option unless you hit this, like, mega flop.
02:40And so they're going through this process.
02:43Now we're 10 minutes in.
02:44All of a sudden, Keegan, he comes driving up because the vice captains are sending, you know, on communications to Keegan,
02:54hey, you need to get up here because they're slow playing this whole rules, rule situation.
02:58And so Keegan comes flying down the hill, runs up to the ref and says, you've got to speed up this ruling.
03:05This is taking entirely too long.
03:07And and basically asking for like, you need to show me what's going down here.
03:12Like, why is he able to get a drop up here?
03:14That was explained.
03:15And eventually, Justin decided just to drop in that same little strip.
03:20And then he has 75 yards, hits this shot that takes a little bit of a fortunate kick out of the rough, spins up there.
03:30And he's somehow got four feet for birdie.
03:33And this was a 15 minute ordeal.
03:35Yeah.
03:35Remember, he's three up.
03:37Cam Young is.
03:38And now Cam Young misses a putt Justin Rose makes.
03:41Justin Rose birdies the next hole and is somehow one down heading into 15.
03:46And the only last thing I'll say is that walking down the 14th hole, Keegan is wearing out this rules official.
