00:00I love podcasts. Podcasts are great. I find that I can just really get a lot of knowledge from them
00:06that I wouldn't necessarily just get on a daily basis. I listen to them when I go to the gym,
00:11on the treadmill. Personally, I haven't listened to a lot of podcasts, but when I happen to hear
00:15them, I'm always really intrigued by them. There are some I really like. I really like Alistair
00:21Campbell's and Rory Stewart's The Rest is Politics. For example, even though I wasn't
00:26personally a big fan of either one of those men, as a couple, if you like, as a unit,
00:33they're really great. I've only really listened to, I mean, I used to listen to
00:37No Such Thing As A Fish. I thought that was pretty good. The Always Sunny in Philadelphia one,
00:43but if you don't watch Always Sunny, there's no point. But I think I listened to a lot of
00:48Terrence McKenna and Ram Dass talks. I think those two are pretty good, but they're pretty out there.
00:53With millions of podcasts covering a broad range of topics and interests, have you become a regular
01:00podcast listener? Here are some more recommendations and podcast reflections from Leeds Locals.
01:06Mel Robbins. I love Mel Robbins. She has some great theories out there. The Let Them Theory,
01:11the 54321 Theory. If you're looking for something to just like switch up your life, kind of like that,
01:17she's a great one to listen to, to get you out of that slump and be like, okay, I've got this.
01:21It all seems to be pretty much divided between whether you're left or right or some other political
01:27group or other. And as far as I'm concerned, there's that much stirring going on that you're
01:32not really going to get any news. All you're really basically looking for is an affiliation with
01:37opinions, something to be angry at, something to agree with. But when it comes to some kind of
01:43open-minded or non-affiliated view on these podcasts, I think you're going to be hard-pressed to find
01:50that. If anything, there's only one podcast I'm interested in, and that's what goes on in here.
01:55It's the only place I can find a sensible conversation nine times out of ten, you know.
02:00But I reckon in a monologue, if it could be broadcastable, that might be more interesting
02:06than what's available on the internet.
02:08I'm not big on podcasts because, I don't know, I reckon it, there's a lot of people just talking
02:15about their opinions on stuff. So I think when it's more informational, I think that's quite
02:22interesting. But oftentimes it's just, I'd rather learn about something myself. Does that make sense?
02:28But then I'm, I think that's quite a snobbish take, so.
02:33I'm a fashion photographer. So I'm just trying to make up for people who are getting into the industry
02:40and talking about their journey, about their feelings, how's it going, and all that stuff.
02:46I think podcasts are a new form of radio. And so either we should, you know, continue with podcasts
02:54and continue developing them, listen to them, or we should just listen to the radio a bit more
02:58and turn off the internet.
