00:00You don't have to venture far from the city to enjoy a farm to fork adventure.
00:05I'm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and I'm going to show you some of the best spots in the region.
00:09We start with Goat Rodeo Farm, where they make some of the best cheese and some award-winning
00:14lines too. The goats are just lovely, but would you look at this view? This is only 20 minutes
00:20away from Pittsburgh downtown, by the way. And as another foodie spot awaits, head to Palm Palm,
00:26where you can enjoy a classic American-style brunch. If, like me, you need a drink or two to digest,
00:32head to Jackworth Ginger Beer for some alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages,
00:36or go to Scratch & Co, one of my personal favourites, where cocktails are seasonal.
00:41But the one unmissable spot in your farm-to-fork quest should be High Hold. This castle, restaurant,
00:47and fairytale land has been going strong since the 1930s, and the chef really takes good care of you,
00:54with a lovely chef's table dinner set in this wonderful oasis. Continue your exploration of
01:01Pittsburgh by heading to the Strip District, where you will find cosy cafes, sandwich shops,
01:06and everything in between. My personal recommendation is to join the Berg Bites & Bits tour,
01:12where a super passionate local guide will take you to all the best spots. Berg Bites & tours also go to
01:18other neighbourhoods, so go and check out their page. And after you're done with all that eating,
01:23you may want to head to the Duquesne Incline, a wonderful viewpoint where you can see downtown
01:29and Point State Park. Finally, head downtown to learn more about the history of food in this region,
01:34by going to the Heinz History Centre, and then hopping to the Andy Warhol Museum. You will see a few
01:39familiar cans, and you even get to do your own screen printing. If that looks like a lot of fun,
01:45it's because it is.
