Housing Subsidies for Residents in Hualien Disaster-Hit Area

Taiwan has rolled out subsidies and temporary housing support for Hualien residents impacted by last week’s flash floods.

00:07Each person can receive up to 66 U.S. dollars per day for a maximum of two weeks.

00:12The government also launched a program to provide shelter by collaborating with 30 hotels and guest houses.

00:18The disaster has officially killed 17 people and injured almost 100.

00:23Search and rescue efforts are ongoing, while tens of thousands of volunteers have traveled to Hualien to help with cleanup efforts.
