The Cabinet is seeking approval for a special budget to provide relief to flood-ravaged areas of eastern Taiwan following Tropical Storm Fung Wong. Residents of Mingli Village are trying to restore their homes with the help of the military.

00:20Last week, heavy rains from Feng Wang caused a barrier lake in the mountains to breach,
00:31flooding the area. Now, residents are left scrambling as they try to clean up their homes
00:36before another storm hits, as the threat of another breach of the naturally formed dams
00:41still threatens their homes. The military has entered the town to help with recovery efforts,
00:45and Taiwan's cabinet is seeking approval for a new special budget to help rebuild storm-battered
00:50parts of Hualien.
