Land Warning Issued as Tropical Storm Fung Wong Approaches Taiwan

A land warning has been issued for Tropical Storm Fung Wong, which is expected to make landfall in Taiwan's south. Several countries have declared typhoon days in preparation for the storm.

00:12as Tropical Storm Fang Wang approaches.

00:15The storm, which has been downgraded from a typhoon, killed at least eight people in the Philippines.

00:20And officials in Taiwan are taking no risks,

00:23evacuating hundreds in the area, which has been hard hit by storms this year.

00:27The devastating flood from a barrier lake breach in September killed 19 people here,

00:33and residents are on high alert now, with the tragedy still fresh in their minds.

01:11Access to mountainous parts of Taipei and New Taipei City have also been shut down.
