12-year-old stabbing victim Chol Achiek farewelled in Melbourne

Chol Achiek, one of two boys allegedly murdered in Melbourne earlier this month, has been farewelled at an emotional service in the city's west. The community he's left behind is still looking for answers.

00:52His teammates recalling his warmth and fun-loving spirit on and off the court.

00:59He reminded us what it looked like to play for joy, to show up with heart and to treat

01:05people with kindness.

01:07State and federal MPs were also in attendance to honour the boy's life.

01:12Chol and his friend Dao Akweng were allegedly attacked by a group of people wearing masks

01:17and wielding machetes in Cobblebank earlier this month.

01:21Both died at the scene.

01:22Chol touched everyone and the way he died has really made everyone curious about why did

01:30this happen in our community.

01:33It's a good child that don't deserve to be taken away the way he was with his friend Dao.
