00:00Hello there.
00:29Welcome to the iconic Assen Circuit, back on the calendar for the Bennett's British Superbike Championship for the first time since 2019 and the perfect scenario to kick off the 2025 showdown. Kyle Ride leading the number 28, Bradley Ray by 28 points at the top of the championship. It was all to play for here as the points and the pressure ramps up. Race 1 highlights on the way in the company of James Whitton and Steve Day.
00:55The rain has got heavier since Whitt walked off the grid and joined me in the commentary box a moment ago. Two riders walked off the grid just before the warm-up lap began. That was Peter Hickman and Blaze Baker. I don't know whether or not they've just gone for the wrong tyres. We will find out.
01:25Favour 1 or 2 from a few rows further back. This is how they line up on the grid for an 18-lap race around Assen and look at the rain pouring down now. Rays on pole from Reading and Nesbitt. Nesbitt going so well earlier on.
01:40Kyle Ride, the championship leader and champion. Heads row 2 ahead of his teammate Glenn Irwin and Leon Haslam. And then it's Iden, McPhee and Bridewell. They can all muster up something in conditions like this.
01:49Kent Cooke and Skinner are on row 4. And then it's Brook Storm. Stacey, keep an eye out for him. We know Hickman's left a grid.
01:56Whitt, in fairness, most went for Whitt. So this downpour actually isn't such a bad thing.
02:01No, it's not. It's actually quite a good thing in terms of there's going to be no ambiguity about what you're going to put on tyre.
02:06You're unlikely at this point to get somebody from the back row.
02:14This could be crucial. 18 laps coming up. Leon Haslam there on the second row.
02:17He's done it around here before in conditions like this. The green flag waves.
02:21We're ready to go for a splash around Assen. But it's crucial in the championship.
02:26Ray starts from pole. Eyes on the lights.
02:31And we're underway. Good start from everyone there on the front row.
02:34Good start from Kyle Ride on row 2 as well. The number 1 immediately coming up to challenge Brad Ray.
02:39Who's going to get the whole shot into turn 1? It's Scott Redding.
02:41On the Hager PBM Ducati is tricky through turn 1. Haslam's poking his nose through as well.
02:46A few wide on the kerbs.
02:48Kyle Ride right around the outside that. Chuffed it out with Scott Redding and got the position.
02:53That was brave and bold there. Risky.
02:56It's really risky because something happens to anybody in that position.
02:59You're on the outside. You're going to cop for it as well.
03:01He's got the most to lose, remember, in this championship at this stage.
03:04And not only that, we've seen a rider that's ridden so well and safely all season.
03:08Finished every single race as Kyle Ride this year.
03:10Points ramp up here in Assen and Alton.
03:13And then, of course, in the finale at Brands.
03:1525 for the win. 22 for second.
03:16And Scott Redding immediately challenges Kyle Ride on the approach now into turn 6 and 7.
03:22Yeah, that started at Struban.
03:23He got a really good drive out of Struban.
03:25Did Scott Redding on that Ducati and just trounced straight past because of that.
03:29Fraser Rogers here. This is fantastic.
03:36He's moved up so many places on the grid.
03:38There he is, number 89.
03:39Here comes Leon Alton underneath Kyle Ride.
03:42He's just warmed up into this now as well, isn't he?
03:44Kyle Ride is dropping back a bit.
03:46Bradley Ray is down in ninth.
03:48They're the two fighting for the championship.
03:50But there's some big points potentially being dropped here.
03:52There you can just see Brad ahead of Tommy Bridewell and John McPhee.
03:58There is McPhee in 11th spot.
04:01Then it's Van Sikhelris and Tessels.
04:03Glenn Irwin's dropped to 15th.
04:05He's just one place ahead of Scott Swan who started from the back of the grid after a fuel pump issue in qualifying.
04:10Yeah, I'll tell you what, Redding's still nearly a second.
04:12Seven-tenths of a second quicker than anybody else on track.
04:15I'll tell you, he's aggressive there.
04:16That was a big move from Max Cook.
04:18He's just made up two spots.
04:19Nesbitt's now falling back.
04:22So over the line we go then to start lap five of 18 here in the wet in Assen.
04:273.3 up the road is Scott Redding over Christian Hiddin.
04:32Breaking now into turn one.
04:35Hard-boxed corner.
04:35Charlie Nesbitt there just dangling his foot out.
04:39Fastest man on track and the fastest half of the race so far.
04:41And you expect that to get less and increase all the time is Haslam in fifth.
04:46Yeah, he'll have played this game before in Assen.
04:50He's ridden every condition around Assen as Leon Haslam.
04:55Funnily enough, I just bumped into Anne, his mum, a moment ago and she went,
04:59isn't this just so, Assen?
05:01Yeah, and remember Anne, his mum's been coming here since the mid-70s
05:05with a chap, Ron, so.
05:09Through turn six there.
05:10Watch remove.
05:11Roskenhook corner.
05:12Haslam trying to weigh up the move now on Danny Kent.
05:15Will he make it into Steckenwald?
05:17This is turn eight.
05:18There's an opportunity into DeBolt, which is the next corner.
05:21Left-hander.
05:22You can make something of a block pass into DeBolt.
05:25But who's thinking about it?
05:28It's really splashing down now, weather-wise.
05:30Exactly what all the weather radars had suggested.
05:34Here comes Leon, has a little look there.
05:36He's just wondering if Leon here is waiting for Danny almost to make his move on Fraser
05:39before he pounces himself.
05:40He doesn't be ever so easy for it to go wrong.
05:44Trying to pass one is one thing.
05:47Two is difficult.
05:48Storm Stacey has retired, unfortunately.
05:50What a shame for him.
05:51Yeah, just saw him come down the pit lane then.
05:54Oh, it's Fraser Rodgers.
05:55That's Fraser Rodgers.
05:56Is that Fraser Rodgers?
05:57Rogers has gone down.
05:58Fraser Rodgers then, who was up inside that top three, has crashed out.
06:04Hopefully the tag Honda rider is okay.
06:06It's a Rishi Tech in these conditions, and he doesn't take much of a mistake for that.
06:10That looked deep from Reading into the chicane, and the gap out front has gone down.
06:13Christian Hiddin, fastest man.
06:15Let's just quickly look at this.
06:16Is he on the white paint there?
06:17No.
06:18He is there.
06:19He is there.
06:20That's what he did.
06:21Touch the paint, and you don't get a second chance at that.
06:24That was a bit of a rookie one, was that?
06:26Got to say.
06:27The two riders that are worth keeping an eye on here, James, are in lime green.
06:31The AJN.
06:31Oh, just as I say that.
06:33The commentary occurs.
06:34Eden was on a flyer.
06:36Closing in on Scott Reading, and unfortunately it's gone wrong here for number 21.
06:41Max Cook, his teammate, also on a good lap.
06:44But that has taken some pressure off Scott Reading.
06:46Yeah, actually.
06:47Christian was a second and a half quicker than Scott Reading.
06:50I'll have a second and a half.
06:51It's hard to keep up with this one.
06:53Haslam is now up into second spot then, and Danny Kent is up into third, with Cook in fourth.
06:58Yeah, great ride from Cook.
07:01Cook on the podium here in the British Talent Cup, but never ridden a big bike around Assen,
07:05as they all fly by Rory Skinner, who's just keeping a look over his shoulder.
07:09So then, it changes once more.
07:11There's Brad Ray as well, who's just gone through.
07:13Kyle Rye just ahead of McPhee.
07:15Eden making progress, and Vancey Calriss up behind him.
07:18Yeah, Eden making progress.
07:20He's going about a second quicker than anybody else in front of him, so he's flying again.
07:26So, Bridewell...
07:27Look at that, it has them.
07:29This is down.
07:29The gap is down here.
07:30It is.
07:31I think Bridewell's complaining of visibility issues.
07:34Yeah, and you know, you're going to get visibility issues in this, just by what's in the air, but also if your visor steams up on the inside, which still happens.
07:42Yeah.
07:42You've got to be so accurate.
07:43We've seen what happens when you hit the paint.
07:44Just an inch onto the paint, you're down the road.
07:47And let's see what Brad Ray's lap time looks like over the line here as he tries to close in on Max Cook, who is a 47.8.
07:55Yeah, he's a good half a second quicker than Cook on the last lap.
07:58The gap out front, though, is down to 1.6.
08:00Scott Redding.
08:01Here he is, number four, more traffic up ahead.
08:05That's Josh Brooks that they're about to lap.
08:07You wouldn't have that, would you, in these conditions.
08:08That must be a tyre choice issue for Josh.
08:12He's better than this.
08:14Unless he's coming to P.
08:15Yeah, that's the gap right in front of you.
08:17Yeah, it's come all the way down.
08:20Scott Redding and Leon Haslam, it seems, are going to tussle this one out.
08:26This is hard to call which way this is going to go, because Christian Eden is still absolutely flying.
08:31There's Max Cook.
08:34The disparity of lap times, James.
08:37We are looking at a rider that's, say, in second and a rider that's in eighth.
08:41Four seconds difference in lap times, some of them.
08:44Yeah.
08:44That's huge amounts.
08:45Absolutely, yeah.
08:46And we're only on lap nine of 18.
08:51This is the gap then, 1.7.
08:52Reading will have seen on his pit board that gap coming down.
08:55He's got more traffic to deal with up ahead.
08:58That's about a second.
08:58That's less than 1.7 anyway.
09:00Honestly.
09:04Absolutely throwing it down here in Assen.
09:10Championship-wise, Brad Ray currently in fourth.
09:14Would take points out of Kyle Ride, who's down in eighth.
09:16Oh!
09:17And down there, unfortunately, for Max Cook.
09:20That's Max Cook.
09:20Oh, he was going so well in third place.
09:24And it's heartbreak for another of the AJN Stillstock Kawasaki riders.
09:27Yeah.
09:28There's...
09:29I'm going to say no shame in that because there isn't ladders pushing on and you've got to take risk.
09:34Let's have a look.
09:35Yeah.
09:35I didn't really see how that started.
09:36That'd be front end, I would have thought.
09:37What it is doing, James, though, is it is highlighting just how tricky these conditions are.
09:43Absolutely, yep.
09:44On lap 10 of 18, this is how they would line up on the grid tomorrow.
09:54Is it on pole from Ray and Haslam?
09:57Oh, Ray's gone down!
09:58Oh, that's Brad Ray!
09:59Brad Ray!
10:00He needed the points so badly.
10:02He just inherited third spot.
10:05And is this...
10:06I'll tell you what, looking at that, they might end up stopping this race, you know.
10:09I know I said that when it's been declared a wet race, they won't stop it.
10:12But if it becomes dangerous, even with everybody on wets, they will have to declare it and stop it.
10:17Leon Haslam has also cut the course at turn 17.
10:20He's run on and you can see the standing water.
10:23You can see what's happening.
10:23Yeah, it wants the standing water.
10:25Arm up in the air from Scott Redding.
10:26And we've got a red flag, rightly called, James.
10:29Yeah.
10:30We are not two-thirds distance, I should just point out here, either.
10:34I think that had to happen.
10:35Honestly, when I saw the rain coming down, when we got the shot of the walking away, Brad Ray, I thought, you know what?
10:41That's... that's treacherous, that.
10:43Right, everyone, just come back on.
10:47New race distance is six laps, and it will be, as you would expect, a quick start procedure.
10:54Six-lap race around Aston, that's a club race.
10:57What a sprint that is.
10:58Yep.
10:59In the wet conditions.
11:02See there, arm up in the air from Glen Irwin.
11:04Are we back in the same spot again?
11:06I think we are.
11:06That's the bottom end of the circuit, and it is really, really raining down there.
11:10Some of the riders putting their arm up, they think that that is possibly unfit.
11:13And Stuart Higgs has certain riders in the field that, yeah, we've got a red flag.
11:18Red flag, yeah.
11:18Yeah, and I think that's... I think Glen is one of them.
11:20Red flag, then.
11:22And we're stalling once more.
11:25And the thing is, James, with that, you don't know until you get maybe 20 bikes out there just how the visibility is and the...
11:32Exactly that.
11:33Some news come up on our time screens.
11:35Checkered flag.
11:36The race direction have made the decision that it will not be restarted this race, so half points are rewarded.
11:42And this is how it looks.
11:44Scott Redding takes the win, but half points, remember, ahead of Haslam, Danny Kent and Charlie Nesbitt.
11:49Eden, fifth.
11:50Kyle Ride, sixth.
11:52Vancy Kelris was seventh then, ahead of John McPhee.
11:55Luke Hedger and Glen Irwin in tenth.
11:57No points, crucially here, for Brad Ray.
12:06So, Scott Redding picking up where he left off here in 2019, where he won the double, of course, in BSB at Arsene.
12:14Find out after the break if he could do the same with two more races still to come.
12:18Welcome back to Arsene, where despite finishing eighth in race two, championship leader Kyle Ride set the fastest lap of the race right towards the end to secure pole position for race three and give himself the perfect opportunity to further extend his championship lead over Bradley Ray.
12:38Here's what happened in the company of James Whitton and Steve Day.
12:42Eden on pole on the Kawasaki, ahead of Ray and Haslam.
12:45Row two features Nesbitt, Redding and Max Cook.
12:48Kent, Rogers and the championship leader Ride, with work to do from Knights on the Grid.
12:52And then it's Vancy Kelris, McPhee and Bridewell.
12:55We've got 18 laps coming up.
12:56Just during the break then, James, we're having a chat.
12:59This is going to be a long race.
13:01And it's going to be difficult to actually keep your eyes everywhere on terms of what's going on, who fights, the championship.
13:07Exactly that.
13:11We're ready to go racing here.
13:13You have to tiptoe through turn one, but Eden is going for it.
13:17And it's a good start on the Kawasaki as well.
13:20He will surely lead into turn one.
13:22The championship leader, Kyle Ride, is just on the left of your screen.
13:24He's going to be in the middle of the pack.
13:26He's got Bridewell just up in front of him.
13:27Eden gets the advantage ahead of Ray and Redding.
13:31This could be really good for Brad Ray, actually, because Christian's going to have a go at Bolton here.
13:35He knows he's got the pace from yesterday.
13:37He knows he's got the same set-up, knows where the grip is.
13:39He's really good at reading that.
13:40And I think Brad could actually benefit from this.
13:42Just see there, mired in the middle of the pack there, Kyle Ride, as they make their way around.
13:46Medite corner and now into Ossipbrookan and then to Struban.
13:50Now onto the back straight.
13:51But taking his time and working it out and not rushing and making a mistake has worked for Kyle Ride so far.
13:57It has.
13:57It worked out last year and it's worked out so far this year.
14:00Correct.
14:00Onto the back straight and hidden.
14:01He's going for it.
14:02Yeah, Max Cook in third look.
14:04Yeah, and a great day yesterday as well.
14:05Let's not forget before that fall.
14:07He did before he was caught out and it was easy to get caught out yesterday.
14:10The riders are saying the grip is reasonably easy to read on track, on the tarmac.
14:15But if you run a little bit wide and hit the pain, you are off.
14:19There were a couple of riders that had standout rides yesterday but for some hiccups.
14:23Fraser Rogers being one of them.
14:24He's up inside that top six and seven as well.
14:26Yes, he is.
14:26But where is Kyle Ride just featuring at the moment?
14:29He's in 11th spot.
14:30So, work to do early on.
14:33There is Tommy Bridewell just going through on Scott Redding.
14:37That's a 70th anniversary Hager colour scheme and he's just easing himself into this one as well.
14:42Yeah, it doesn't look quite so good when you're looking through the mist and the rain and the kind of haze.
14:48But actually, that's a lovely colour scheme when you get close.
14:51It is, yeah.
14:51Beautiful looking bike, that.
14:52Yes, it is.
14:53That's the font they used back in when they first started the company, Hager.
14:58Of course, loyal supporters of PBM Ducati.
15:00So, into the chicane for the first time and Hiddin did exactly what we said he would.
15:03He's bolted out front.
15:05What a great first lap this has been from number 21.
15:08Yeah, like I said, Brad Ray made the start he wanted and if he can just hang on as long as he can to Christian Hiddin,
15:15I mean, you don't know what's going to happen.
15:16I mean, Brad Ray had real pace yesterday.
15:18He might even be able to stay with Christian Hiddin.
15:20Oh, Kyle O'Neill is getting himself in some business.
15:22He probably doesn't want to be in.
15:23He's sat up there by Danny Kent as well.
15:25Yeah, the problem with that is you can't run wide because you cannot touch that pin.
15:30I think what you're seeing now is people just getting a feel for what's going on.
15:33I think Christian was really good at getting the feel for it on the sighting lap and wall of lap.
15:37I think people now are just easing their way in.
15:40I am a bit confused though, James.
15:42Right.
15:42So, and some of the viewers might be at home.
15:44Yesterday, pouring rain, Scott Redding won the race.
15:46He's down in 20th.
15:48Yeah, that's confused me as well.
15:50Whether he's gone for the harder wet and doesn't feel he's getting the,
15:53I don't know what he had on yesterday.
15:56Because there was a fair mix yesterday and people were,
15:59so, so, we hear Redding's on the soft wet,
16:02maybe just not got the same feel as he did yesterday.
16:04I don't know.
16:05No comment really.
16:06So peculiar.
16:07Lovely drone shot, that.
16:15That's almost a rider's eye view,
16:17but quite slow coming out as Ruben onto that straight-ish.
16:22The Vien slang.
16:23Any straight that you call the snake.
16:26Probably not much of a straight.
16:28Tells his own story, that one.
16:29But it is actually flat out.
16:31So, you can count it as a straight.
16:33Yeah, this is the battle for third place.
16:35Skinner then.
16:36Is he now about to reel in Bradley Ray?
16:38Top left of your picture there is Darren Prye.
16:40One of the co-owners of the FS3 Racing Kawasaki team.
16:44Yeah, got racing running through his veins.
16:47Love's been involved.
16:48Love being a racer in his time.
16:50In fact, had a little bit of a lash in the BMW F900 Cup.
16:54This weekend, he keeps coming out of retirement and just for a laugh, really.
16:59He's got a bit too much timber on him now to be super quick.
17:02But he has run fairly well at British Championship level in the past.
17:06You said that, not me.
17:07He's a good mate.
17:08He'll only hit me a bit.
17:11Two riders that know each other very well here in close proximity.
17:15They see Nesbitt there and Fraser Rogers just up behind him.
17:18They're fifth and sixth.
17:19Aslam just behind.
17:21And you kind of get the feeling here.
17:22Most of these experienced riders get what's going on here.
17:25They know this is a long race.
17:27They're not doing anything too silly just yet.
17:29Not at all.
17:29You've got to stop the bike spinning sometimes coming out of a corner,
17:32especially with as much power as these bikes have got.
17:34The bike spins up and you've got to close.
17:36That'll stop its spinning because any time it's spinning,
17:38it's taking a lot of life out of the tyre.
17:40Motor Rapido to Cati of Haslam.
17:42Now the fastest lap for him.
17:44A 46.183.
17:45Not unexpected, I don't think.
17:47He's just easing his way in around the outside.
17:49That's not going to work so well, is it?
17:50I think it is.
17:51And it has worked.
17:52What a move from Fraser.
17:53Hey, look at that.
17:54And that's not passing any, you know, bloke in 55th position.
17:58Nice passing Charlie Nesby, who we know has got pace.
18:02Brilliant stuff from Fraser Rogers,
18:05who unfortunately clicked the white line yesterday,
18:08which took him down.
18:09Yeah, and he can be forgiven for that
18:11because can you be accurate when it's like this?
18:14It was in traffic.
18:15It was a lot of spray coming up.
18:17He got it wrong by about six inches.
18:19That's what I'm saying.
18:19You've got to leave yourself a little bit more room for error
18:21because you're not exactly sure when you're in the back
18:24because of the lack of visibility
18:25exactly where your wheels are going.
18:28This is the move.
18:29Let's have a look at this again then from Fraser.
18:32In fact, he had no option but to go back on the outside there.
18:34Yeah, but you wouldn't expect him to get all the way.
18:36I know Charlie Nesby will be thinking,
18:39oh man, I've got to race my game a bit there.
18:42That shouldn't be possible.
18:43As things stand, Bradley Ray would take 18 points
18:47out of car ride in one race.
18:48That would be a huge amount.
18:50Yes, it would.
18:55Now you just see 17 points.
18:58The gap would now be as things stand,
19:00but there's a long way to go
19:01as we look at the tag Honda of Fraser Rogers.
19:05Leon Haslam then just biding his time.
19:08Waiting to make a clean move.
19:10When conditions are like this,
19:11yes, they've got wet tires on.
19:12Yes, if you ride your road bike
19:14and you've never used wet tires,
19:15you will be astounded at how much grip you've got.
19:17But there is still less grip
19:18than on slicks on a racetrack.
19:20So you've got to do everything
19:21with a little bit more kind of smoothness.
19:23You can't just hit the brakes.
19:24You can't just hit the power.
19:25You can't just lean the bike instantly.
19:27You've got to be just smooth
19:28and that will pay off.
19:29And we should just mention as well
19:30for those that aren't aware,
19:32there's no traction control, Jay.
19:33Nothing.
19:34This is all in your hands.
19:35You can actually dial power.
19:36You can get your team to dial power out
19:38in each gear or not corner by corner,
19:41but you can say, right,
19:42in third gear or second gear,
19:44oh, that's awesome.
19:45You knew that was coming
19:46and I think Fraser would have known
19:50that was coming at some point as well.
19:51Oh, is he having another go?
19:52No.
19:53Yeah, you can get your team
19:54to not give you as much power
19:56as your hand is requesting.
19:58It's called request and response.
20:00You can ping the throttle wide open
20:01and only have half power
20:03if you've got that set up
20:04on your electronics with your team.
20:06But they haven't got
20:07any active traction control.
20:08If they open the throttle,
20:09the thing's going to spin up.
20:11Yeah, especially here in Ascent
20:13and in these conditions.
20:13There is Kyle Ride then.
20:15This is Scott Swan just up ahead of him
20:17on the team IWR.
20:18Send my back Honda.
20:20If Ride can get through on Swan,
20:21he moves up to 11.
20:22Storm Stacey has just got through
20:23on John McPhee.
20:24We saw that a moment ago as well.
20:26He's running well lap time-wise.
20:28Kyle Ride has just put in
20:29his fastest lap of the race
20:31and he's going through
20:32on Scott Swan now.
20:34So is this Kyle now
20:36just going forward a little bit,
20:37get himself through?
20:38He knows now he's got good signaling
20:41from his dad on pit wall
20:42and he knows now
20:43every single place he makes up
20:45is actually helping him
20:47in the championship.
20:48And that, once we get to brands,
20:50that could be crucial.
20:50It could be.
20:51One point last year.
20:52Half a point the year before.
20:54And half a point the year before.
20:55So, you know, this is it.
20:57You can't settle.
20:58You've got to fight
20:58for every single point.
21:01Brad Ray, it seems,
21:01is quite, let's say, content
21:03just to stay in second place
21:04at the moment
21:04and almost half it
21:05and is that guinea pig.
21:07And exactly that.
21:08Exactly like Shane Byrne
21:09was saying on the chat before.
21:12It's difficult when you're the reference
21:14and it is now Christian Iden
21:15that's the reference
21:16and it's now Brad Ray
21:18that's able to just gauge
21:19his pace off Christian
21:22and where the grip is
21:23and where the grip isn't.
21:27Here's Cook now
21:28coming under pressure
21:29from Leon Haslam,
21:30number 91.
21:31This is what he showed yesterday,
21:33this great speed.
21:34To be fair to Max Cook,
21:35he is putting his fastest lap
21:36in every single lap.
21:38So he's going quicker and quicker.
21:39Ooh, that's going to work.
21:40Lovely line that.
21:42And then Leon will be straight back
21:44onto that less wet path
21:46there.
21:46You saw that.
21:48Over the line then for Haslam.
21:49Is this going to be
21:49another fastest lap?
21:50He's in the 46s.
21:53He was the fastest rider again
21:54on that last loop.
21:57Yes, he was.
21:58Tommy Brightwell also going well here.
21:59Had to retire yesterday
22:00because he got water
22:01inside the visors.
22:02You couldn't see anything.
22:03Yes, Storm Stacey
22:04retired yesterday
22:05and that was water
22:07in the bike.
22:08He got in the electronics
22:09and just cut everything.
22:10The thing went haywire.
22:19This is all closing up now
22:20and a few spots of rain again
22:22right out the back
22:23of the circuit.
22:23This is as far away
22:24from the sort of start line
22:25as you could possibly get.
22:26Idden, Skinner,
22:27Ray and Haslam.
22:28Right.
22:29Christian Idden
22:29is an old stager
22:30just like Leon Haslam.
22:32Oh, yeah.
22:32And Leon's pushing on.
22:34He's on the paint.
22:35He's going to get off the road.
22:36What's he doing out there?
22:37Get off there.
22:38Exactly.
22:38He did well to stay on that
22:39and that's exactly what I've said.
22:40When you're pushing on,
22:41you run wide,
22:42you get on that paint
22:43and as soon as you're on the paint,
22:44you've got to shut the throttle.
22:45Otherwise, you're down the road.
22:47He did well to stay on that.
22:48That was a big mistake, that.
22:50So, Idden.
22:52It's just this will be
22:53the Haslam moment.
22:54Let's have a look at this.
22:54He's a bit wider at the apex.
22:55Runs a little bit more wide.
22:57Not this one.
22:58Watch this.
22:59Hey, that's what cost him.
23:00He lost the rear
23:01when he closed the throttle going in.
23:02That pushed him wide
23:03and that meant
23:03that 250 metres later,
23:06he's got to leave off the throttle.
23:07He's got to get out of the throttle
23:08for a long,
23:09a long time
23:11and that's cost him.
23:1215 lap.
23:13We begin off 18.
23:15We have gone past
23:15two-thirds distance now.
23:17So, if Reds were to come out
23:19for whatever reason,
23:19it would be declared.
23:21Blaise Baker moves out of the way.
23:22A bit wide from Christian there.
23:24Got off that drier line
23:25or the less lying water line,
23:27shall we call it.
23:28If you're Brad Ray at the moment,
23:29one presumes you'll have the information
23:31of where Kyle Wright is.
23:33Do you just say to yourself here,
23:36if there's an opportunity,
23:37I'll take it,
23:38but I really need to be staying on here.
23:39I think that the code word will be,
23:41that'll do,
23:42unless somebody makes a mistake in front
23:44and it would be.
23:45Championship-wise,
23:46absolutely.
23:47Yeah.
23:47Dead right.
23:48This would be a good haul for Brad
23:50in one race alone here today
23:51in Aston.
23:52Another 18-latter coming up
23:54later on this afternoon as well.
23:55Kyle Wright is in 10th
23:59and he's only a 10th of a second off.
24:02Max Cook for 9th.
24:03Christian in just looking at the,
24:04at the champion screen
24:05for his fastest lap
24:07of the race in the last lap.
24:09Another couple of points gained
24:10for Kyle Wright.
24:11He's through on Max Cook.
24:13He's limiting the damage
24:14being done to him by Brad Ray
24:16in the championship standings overall.
24:18There was the move
24:19just in the back ramp.
24:21And then through on Cook,
24:23who's faded slightly
24:24as the race has gone on.
24:25Yeah, actually,
24:25they're good mates as well.
24:29Over the line then
24:30to start the penultimate lap
24:31of the race.
24:32It's Iden from Skinner.
24:33This looks closer.
24:33This looks closer than it has been.
24:35And it's because Skinner and Ray
24:36have just put in their fastest laps
24:38of the race.
24:38Yeah, and actually,
24:40Christian had a bit of a slow one.
24:41That's about half a second slower
24:42than the lap before.
24:43A bit more.
24:448.10 slower.
24:45So I think Christian's made
24:47a little bit of a mistake there.
24:48Just at the wrong time, maybe.
24:50Yeah, because Rory's now
24:51going to be thinking
24:51there's a win on here.
24:53You would have to think,
24:54am I, Rory's still dicing
24:55for that fourth place
24:56in the third place
24:57in the championship.
24:58Yeah, absolutely.
24:59There's no way he's
25:00in a similar position.
25:01He can't really afford
25:02to do anything too stupid.
25:04Haslam would be on pole.
25:05Funnily enough,
25:05Kyle rides lapping
25:06so well at the moment
25:07that he would actually be
25:08really high up on the grid.
25:10Yes, he would.
25:10It's just over 45.7.
25:12Yep.
25:13Now, 17 of 18.
25:15What does Brad Ray do about this?
25:17He just put in his fastest lap.
25:18He's in third.
25:20He'll be hoping, actually,
25:21Skinner has a bit of a bite
25:22on Iden here.
25:24Rage has gone quicker
25:24than Iden's quickest lap.
25:26So he'll be in front of him
25:27on the grid
25:27and he's out front.
25:29Strange how it's gone
25:30and Tommy's built himself up,
25:32although he's a bit squirmy there.
25:34You see the dry line?
25:34What have we said about this place?
25:37Because there is,
25:38that's a dry line.
25:39One thing this place has
25:41as Canberra,
25:41like we've said before,
25:43so the water sheets off
25:44straight away
25:44so if it doesn't rain again
25:45it gets a crack at drying
25:47really quickly.
25:49Wee!
25:50Does Iden hold on to this then?
25:51We're about to start
25:52the final lap
25:53and Iden here
25:54is going to come under some pressure.
25:55He's going to have about
25:56half a second, I think,
25:57over the line
25:57on Rory Skinner.
25:58Maybe a little bit more.
26:00Maybe stick to that dry line,
26:02Christian.
26:02It's that late in the race.
26:04Sometimes, you know,
26:04when there's a dry line
26:05appear in your own wet,
26:07you will aim for the wetter bits
26:08down the straight
26:09just to take a bit of heat
26:10out of those wet tyres.
26:12Let's see what the gap is
26:13over the line though.
26:15About 7 tenths.
26:17Iden leads.
26:18The gap is, yeah,
26:196.5 tenths
26:20between Iden and Skinner.
26:21Brad Ray in third
26:22at the moment.
26:23Kyle Ryde
26:24is rescuing his race.
26:26He's now getting close up
26:28to Storm Stacey
26:29in the closing stages
26:30of this one
26:30and Ryde's just putting
26:31the fastest lap of the race.
26:33He'll be on pole
26:33for the race
26:34later on this afternoon.
26:35You couldn't write this,
26:36could you?
26:38Every year,
26:39we say the same thing.
26:40You know what's bad for us
26:42is we're good mates
26:43with all these lads.
26:45So you're going,
26:46that was wide
26:47for Skinner then.
26:49That's cost him
26:50a little bit of time.
26:51You can tell Skinner
26:51was pushing on.
26:52But you're mates
26:53with most of them
26:54and you don't want
26:54anybody to mess up,
26:55do you?
26:56No, it's true.
26:57Absolutely true.
26:59There is going to be
27:00points taken though
27:01from Brad Ray.
27:02I think Christian
27:02might have this one
27:03in the bag
27:03barring any mistakes.
27:05What happens to Kyle Ryde
27:06is important
27:07for the championship now
27:08because I don't think
27:09he's going to be able
27:10to get in front of
27:11Stacey and Rodgers.
27:13Right there,
27:14he's going to catch him
27:14but I don't think
27:15given the fact
27:16he's got the championship
27:17lead to protect
27:18he's going to do
27:19anything daft.
27:20So then,
27:21just a few more corners
27:22then to negotiate
27:22and it's a really important
27:23final sector here
27:24for Idden just to try
27:26and dodge the white lines,
27:27dodge the kerbs
27:28and it should be his
27:29in the bag.
27:30We come up to turn 11 now.
27:31Idden,
27:32is he about to hand himself
27:34victory
27:34and the FS3 team
27:36on the AJN
27:36Steelstock Kawasaki.
27:37What a brilliant ride
27:38it has been.
27:40I'm saying nothing.
27:40From pole position.
27:42Nothing until he's over the line.
27:43And now,
27:44surely he's got it done
27:45through Hoverheider
27:46and Ramchuk as well
27:47and he's thoroughly
27:48deserved this.
27:49Yes he has.
27:49We've just got one chicane
27:51to go.
27:51The Kiatima chicane
27:52for Christian Idden
27:53and the applause
27:55will come from
27:56the grandstands
27:57here in Assen.
27:58What a brilliant victory
27:59this has been
28:00for Idden.
28:01His first of 2025.
28:03He takes the spoils
28:04with Skinner in third
28:06and an important third.
28:07Right through on Stacey.
28:08That's another couple
28:09of points
28:10for the championship leader.
28:12Over the line then
28:13for Kyle.
28:14He takes eighth.
28:16That's going to be
28:1610 points for him.
28:18Really good.
28:1820 points for Brad Ray.
28:19It's a 10 point chunk
28:21but it could have been worse.
28:22Every pass that Kyle
28:24Wright made there
28:24was really important
28:26for the championship.
28:31Results then.
28:32Idden wins
28:33for the first time
28:34this year
28:34and for Kawasaki too.
28:35Their first win
28:36of the season.
28:37Bory Skinner
28:37second,
28:38Bradley Ray third.
28:39Then it's Tommy
28:39Bridewell,
28:40Leon Haslam,
28:41Nesbitt,
28:41Rogers,
28:42Kyle Ryde
28:42was eighth.
28:44Ninth for Storm
28:45Stacey
28:45and tenth
28:45for the
28:46Wee McPhee.
28:49Eleventh place
28:50went to Max Cook.
28:51Scott Swan
28:52was twelfth.
28:53The disappointing
28:53race from Danny
28:55Cope.
28:55We did not mention him
28:56really at all
28:57in that one.
28:57Lee Jackson
28:58with a couple of points
28:59and Scott Redding
28:59fifteenth.
29:00Just one point
29:01for yesterday's race
29:02winner in the wet.
29:07So the standings
29:08now with seven races
29:09to go,
29:09twenty-five in it
29:10between Ryde
29:11and Ray.
29:12Leon Haslam
29:13and Rory Skinner
29:13are locked on points
29:15in third
29:16in the championship
29:16and only eighteen
29:18behind them
29:19after that race win
29:20is Christian Idden
29:21in fifth.
29:22Scott Redding
29:22still in eighth place
29:23in the championship.
29:24He got there yesterday
29:25ahead of Max Cook
29:26and Josh Brooks.
29:29And further down
29:30the order there.
29:31Absent this weekend
29:32Andy Owen
29:33is eleventh
29:33ahead of Nesbitt,
29:34Storm Stacey
29:35and Glenn Owen.
29:37Right,
29:37and this makes me
29:38really happy.
29:39Christian Idden
29:39you are a PSP winner
29:41once again.
29:42Fantastic performance.
29:43Lights out
29:44to lights off.
29:44Well done.
29:45Thanks so much.
29:46It's like the longest
29:46eighteen laps of my life.
29:47I've got a sore throat
29:48sorry from screaming
29:49in my helmet.
29:50It was,
29:51do you know,
29:51the AJ and Steelstock
29:52Cowzaki squad
29:53put an absolutely
29:54fantastic bike
29:55underneath me yesterday
29:56and then obviously
29:57it was exactly
29:57the same self then.
29:59I ran up with the hard wet
30:00and yeah,
30:01it was drying a lot
30:01but actually I found
30:02more grip on the wet
30:03out the back section
30:03of the track.
30:04The hardest thing for me
30:05obviously was being out front
30:06was trying to understand
30:06how fast to go
30:08and we got like
30:08extra showers of rain
30:10coming and going
30:10so like it changed
30:11lap on lap
30:12so it was really hard
30:13but yeah,
30:14I just tried to race
30:15my pit board really.
30:16I don't know if they were
30:17giving me real times
30:17or not
30:18but every time
30:18it went under half a second
30:19I tried to do a push lap
30:20to sort of keep the gap
30:21but not do anything
30:22too much
30:23and yeah,
30:24I struggled a little bit
30:24with the rear coming around
30:25on me a lot
30:26towards the end of the race
30:27but I think just the tyres
30:28were starting to get warm
30:28but yeah,
30:29big thank you to the team
30:30you know,
30:30they thoroughly deserved it
30:32in AJ and Steel
30:33Stock,
30:33Kyle Zaki
30:33I've got a squad
30:35of like people
30:36that I just have
30:37the most respect for ever
30:38and yeah,
30:39I love being in that team
30:40so big thanks to them
30:41and yeah,
30:42rest up Callum Grigor
30:43you gave me some strength
30:44then so thank you mate
30:45keep fighting
30:45Lovely sentiment
30:46well done Christian
30:47fantastic performance
30:48Thanks mate,
30:49thank you
30:49A welcome win then
30:52for Christian Nidden
30:53first of the season
30:54and always a popular character
30:56here in the paddock
30:57and crucial championship points
30:59for Bradley Ray
31:00in third place
31:00as well as confidence
31:01going into the third race
31:03of the weekend
31:04which Kyle Ryde
31:05despite finishing eighth
31:06in race two
31:07would start
31:08from pole position
31:09back to Stephen James
31:10for this one
31:11is going to have the advantage
31:1325 points separate
31:15Kyle Ryde
31:16and Brad Ray
31:1625 points on offer
31:18in this final race
31:19of the weekend
31:20in Asin
31:2018 laps
31:21coming your way
31:23eyes on the lights
31:24and away we go
31:26good start actually
31:27from all on the front row
31:28Christian Nidden
31:29also got away
31:30pretty well
31:31on the launch now
31:32down towards
31:32Harbach corner
31:33turn one
31:34Brad Ray
31:34trying to tread his way through
31:36he's maybe fourth or fifth
31:37Skinner also up the inside
31:39into fourth place
31:40but it is
31:42a solid start
31:43so far
31:43so good for car ride
31:44yep
31:45and Brad Ray fourth
31:47Skinner in fifth
31:48and that's the other thing
31:50Brad Ray
31:50has to
31:51kind of
31:52manoeuvre himself around
31:53and about
31:54people
31:55early season
31:56we used to see him
31:57just making a good launch
31:58and getting away
31:59and when it's like this
32:01you know
32:01it's damp off line
32:02a little bit
32:02and the kerbs are a bit
32:03slippy
32:04then that could be a problem
32:05would Kyle want to lead
32:06in the early stages
32:07of this one
32:08I think he would
32:08I think he would
32:09yep
32:09Christian Nidden
32:10he's good friend
32:11he's just behind him
32:12in second
32:13he said he's not had
32:14any dry pace all weekend
32:15we're about to find out
32:16whether that is the case
32:16oh and straight through
32:18Christian Nidden
32:18he's got a bit deep
32:20but I think Kyle
32:21yeah
32:21will allow him back through
32:22Leon Haslam now
32:23trying to punch as well
32:24he goes through
32:25he gate crashes
32:27he's not going to fit through there
32:28that was
32:29threading the needle
32:30for Haslam
32:31and almost went horribly wrong
32:32yeah well
32:32Leon went a little bit wide as well
32:34then
32:35just after that
32:36so that's let Kyle back through
32:37he'll settle ourselves down
32:38in a minute
32:39I'm sure
32:39yeah
32:40yeah right
32:40Skinner in four
32:42was out of the seat
32:43there's Scott Redding
32:45he's made a really good start
32:46he's made up a couple of places
32:48remember he's had excellent
32:49dry pace all weekend
32:50on that one-off colour scheme
32:51for Hager PBM
32:52to get the 70th anniversary
32:54for them
32:55there's Storm Stacey
32:55getting busy as well
32:57Roger's stuck here
32:58he's going to look down the inside
32:59now he's wide on the curve
33:00wasn't it
33:00Kyle is through
33:02nice
33:02into the gate
33:03to him a chicane
33:04we complete lap one
33:05and it is Kyle that leads
33:06but look at this
33:07they're side by side
33:08the Yamaha and
33:09Christian Hiddin
33:10they're three abreast
33:11and through from third to first
33:12is Leon Haslam
33:13there's not enough room for three
33:14Haslam leads him to turn one
33:16squeezing underneath
33:17Kyle Rhyde
33:18is his good buddy
33:19Christian Hiddin
33:20they are
33:21they are friends
33:22aren't they
33:22have they fallen out
33:23there's a lot of chopping
33:30and changing still to go
33:31Haslam leads over the line
33:32Tommy Brightwell now
33:33trying to challenge
33:34Christian Hiddin
33:35they get up side by side
33:36and Brightwell's up into third
33:37and it's raining
33:38they'll stop it
33:39they will stop this
33:41if there's anything
33:42like
33:43heavy rain
33:44coming down
33:45they'll stop it
33:45because
33:46they will
33:47they're all out there on slits
33:49the organisers know that
33:50yeah
33:52oh is that a leg in the air
33:53few people with legs in the air
33:55there as well
33:55I think this is going to be stopped
33:56yeah red flag rain
33:58red flag rain
33:59and
33:59we thought that might be the case
34:01they're about to come up to the
34:03the section where there was some rain as well
34:05the weather here this weekend in Assen
34:07I've been coming here a long time
34:101985 I first came here
34:11and I've been here a lot of times
34:13when it's been
34:14challenging conditions and changeable
34:16but never when it's been quite this
34:18changeable and challenging
34:19so because they'd started lap 4
34:213 laps completed
34:22it will be a restart over 14 laps
34:24quick start procedure
34:25and it will be the grid
34:26as of lap 3
34:27ok
34:28so no tyre changes
34:29because they'd started lap 4
34:31when the red flag came out
34:32how will the championship look
34:34at the end of 14 laps
34:36let's hope it stays dry this time
34:37eyes on the lights
34:38and we are underway
34:40Storm Stacey got a great start
34:42on his Batum's BMW
34:43let's see who gets turn 1
34:44in P1
34:45it's going to be Kyle Ride
34:47I think who gets the whole shot
34:48look at Storm though
34:49he's lunging
34:49he's lunging
34:50whoa
34:50straight through into second place
34:53yeah Storm Stacey fancied a bit
34:55this he looked really good
34:56into some of the corners
34:57he uses a lot of back brake
34:59and sometimes that suits
35:01a particular track
35:02and sometimes it doesn't
35:03it seems to suit Assen
35:04is he going to have a look
35:05into the hairpin here
35:06Storm Stacey
35:07no
35:07quite defensive from Kyle
35:08he has that advantage
35:10where's Brad Ray
35:11sort of where he started really
35:13he's got Danny Kent
35:14up alongside him
35:15number 1
35:16Kyle Ride leads
35:16for another 79 Storm Stacey
35:18what I can tell you
35:19is that Batum's BMW
35:21of Storm Stacey
35:22bike in second
35:23he's got the best colour scheme
35:25it's fantastic
35:26stands out like a sore thumb
35:27that's good for us commentators
35:29but also
35:29it's quick
35:30it is very fast
35:31that's Christian Hiddon
35:33the race winner from earlier on
35:36unfortunately down and out of this one
35:38did you see the way it slides in
35:42and that's not on the over
35:44that's not the engine
35:45holding the rear wheel back
35:46that is actually
35:47that's his brake on his left hand
35:50let's see what happened to Hiddo
35:51oh
35:52it's like he caught a kerb
35:54or something
35:54yeah
35:55very odd
35:56because you wouldn't expect
35:57the front to lock there
35:58not at all
35:59well he tried
36:06start lap 5
36:09now closer
36:12a lot closer
36:13and he pulls to the inside
36:14is he going to have a look up
36:15into turn 1
36:16decides against it
36:17meanwhile
36:18Reading
36:18up the inside
36:19of Storm Stacey
36:20and holds his line
36:21Reading up to 3rd
36:22Brad Ray
36:24fastest lap of the race
36:25now he has warmed into it
36:27a 36.3
36:28getting the bit between his teeth
36:30now and he needs to do
36:30he does
36:31he does
36:32he can't really afford
36:33to lose more points
36:36on Kyle
36:37yeah
36:37he won't need a pit board
36:39at the minute
36:39because he can see everybody
36:40that he needs to see
36:42right in front of him
36:43and what he will see
36:44is his good mate
36:44and championship rival
36:46Kyle Ride
36:47at the front of the pack
36:48so out front
36:50it's still Ride
36:52that leads
36:52from Haslam
36:53and Reading
36:54this is Stacey
36:55with Brightwell
36:56just behind
36:56and Brad Ray
36:57now
36:57on their tail
36:59and he needs to move quickly
37:00yes he does
37:01now into the fastest part
37:09of this circuit
37:10cranking it over
37:11left into the ramp's hook
37:12Tommy Brightwell
37:13eyeing a move
37:13on Storm Stacey
37:14into the gear
37:15with him a chicane
37:15he's lining it up nicely
37:17he's going early
37:17on his Honda
37:18and he's through
37:19yeah
37:19lovely
37:21set up nicely
37:22has it cost him time
37:23coming out
37:23no it hasn't
37:24he's fine
37:24perfect
37:25can Brad Ray
37:26now capitalise
37:26because the momentum
37:27has been lost a bit
37:28there from Storm
37:28this might be an opportunity
37:29for number 28
37:30to go through
37:30into turn one
37:32difficult
37:33to do it
37:34in a single set
37:35manoeuvre
37:36when you're racing
37:36against
37:37when he's trying to
37:37against one of the fastest
37:38bikes on the track
37:39and also
37:40easy to get it wrong
37:40into turn one
37:41and run wide
37:42yeah exactly
37:43the gap back
37:53to Brightwell
37:541.3
37:54then Storm
37:55Stacey
37:55and Brad Ray
37:56are now
37:563.7 seconds
37:58adrift
37:58they're chance
38:00of the podium
38:00they're a long way
38:02back now
38:02Stacey
38:03and Ray
38:04if Bright
38:07holds on to this
38:08it'll be one of his
38:09rides of the season
38:10yeah but
38:10two Ducati's
38:11ganging up on him
38:12this is a huge battle
38:15going on
38:15further back
38:16what's that
38:17Brooks in 10th
38:18all the way back
38:19to Scott Swan
38:19in 16th
38:20yep
38:20and that includes
38:23Cook
38:24oh Redding's through
38:25yeah
38:26Redding's gone true
38:27on Leon Haslund
38:28so now this is going
38:29to be interesting
38:30what can Scott Redding
38:31do
38:32because we're about
38:32to start lap 12
38:33of 14
38:34it's his turn
38:35and the laps are
38:35running out
38:36and he knows that
38:36he feels he's got
38:37more pace
38:38and possibly have a
38:39better go
38:40at having a go
38:41at your leader
38:42car ride
38:42fast going in
38:45as well
38:45that bodes well
38:46for Scott
38:47Scott was here
38:48earlier this year
38:48of course
38:48with World Super Bikes
38:49yeah finished 5th
38:50in one of the races
38:51so he had pace
38:51this the pass
38:53yeah nicely set up
38:55that
38:55yep
38:55that's into
38:57Mandeveen
38:57from
38:58DeBolt
38:59car ride then
39:03it is
39:03on the not just
39:03competition
39:04Yamaha
39:04that has the
39:05advantage
39:05Scott Redding
39:06though
39:06has now got
39:06a bit of
39:07daylight
39:07up ahead of him
39:08and can he reel in
39:09the championship leader
39:10I think he can
39:11and I think he thinks
39:12he can
39:12because he wouldn't
39:13have
39:13he wouldn't have
39:14tried to get past
39:15Leon if not
39:16he'd have waited
39:16a little bit
39:17but I think he feels
39:18that he's got a good
39:19chance of having a go
39:20at Kyle
39:21this is a chance
39:23for the Ducati
39:24to stretch its legs
39:25a bit
39:25onto the
39:25fence lag
39:26and into turn 6
39:27you can see there
39:29yeah
39:30not a lot
39:30splitting them
39:31but a couple of
39:31tenths maybe
39:32yeah
39:32I think it looks
39:33fairly threatening
39:33oh he's a bit
39:34wide there
39:35it was a little
39:35bit wide
39:36wasn't it
39:36turn 8
39:39Steckenvall
39:40Leon Haslam
39:42still there as
39:43well
39:43now into
39:46the boat
39:47as it stands
39:49a 36 point lead
39:51for car ride
39:51going into
39:52Alton Park
39:53yeah
39:53this is important
39:55you know
39:55every point
39:56counts
39:57I mean
39:59I don't think
40:00Cal B
40:00understand what's
40:01going on
40:01he'll be looking
40:01at his lap
40:02by thinking
40:02well come on
40:03then
40:03what you got
40:04is Scott
40:07close enough
40:07to engage
40:08on this lap
40:08and then
40:09you know
40:09to be accurate
40:10like Kyle
40:11has to be
40:11you've got to be
40:12inch perfect
40:12everywhere
40:13not make a mistake
40:14not run wide
40:14not have to get
40:15off the throttle
40:15for going on the
40:16curbs
40:16really difficult
40:17oh here comes
40:18Scott
40:19yep
40:20he's going
40:20through
40:20Scott Redding
40:21then on the
40:21Hager PBM
40:22Ducati
40:22goes through
40:23on car ride
40:24he is wide
40:25oh and now
40:26the three abreast
40:27because Haslam's
40:28coming through
40:28as well
40:29that's put
40:29car ride
40:30on the wrong
40:30part of the
40:31circuit
40:31down into
40:32turn 1
40:32Haslam takes
40:33the lead
40:34Scott Redding
40:34in behind him
40:35Scott nearly ran
40:36into the back
40:36of Haslam
40:37ride
40:37settles for
40:38third
40:38and looking
40:39for Kyle
40:40that
40:40this might
40:42just invite
40:43Tommy Bridewell
40:43if they keep
40:44playing games like
40:44this
40:45Tommy Bridewell's
40:45not too far
40:46off this battle
40:46so this is
40:48so this is the
40:48penultimate lap
40:49of the race
40:49remember
40:49over the line
40:51Reading it was
40:52that led from
40:52Kyle Rye
40:53but it's now
40:54Haslam
40:54that has the
40:55advantage
40:55now Kyle
40:56has to be
40:56clever here
40:57because if
40:57he's got to
40:58get in
40:58if he's going
40:58to get the
40:59win here
40:59he needs to
41:00set something
41:01up difficult
41:01with the Yamaha
41:02to put yourself
41:02in a position
41:03for a breaking
41:03move
41:04but he looks
41:05up ahead of
41:05him and he
41:05sees two riders
41:06that aren't in
41:07his championship
41:07yeah he does
41:08yeah agreed
41:10and he's a smart
41:11cookie we've seen
41:12that over the last
41:12two seasons
41:13where he is
41:13where he is
41:14in the championship
41:14Tommy Bridewell
41:17one and a half
41:17seconds back
41:18on these
41:18it might just
41:19be too little
41:19too late
41:20unless this lot
41:21engage
41:22into default
41:23once more
41:23on the penultimate
41:24lap
41:25Haslam
41:25looking for his
41:26first win
41:27since the opening
41:27round of the
41:28season
41:28Reading looking
41:29to make it
41:29two wins
41:30in a weekend
41:30yep
41:31no
41:32we're about
41:33to start
41:34the final lap
41:35one of these
41:36three
41:36is taking
41:37the spoils
41:38and the glory
41:38here in
41:39Assen
41:40with the sun
41:41finally shining
41:42and now
41:42already
41:43Reading is
41:43looking to
41:44charge through
41:44into turn
41:45one
41:45he's up
41:45the inside
41:46now of
41:46Haslam
41:46can he get
41:47the bike
41:47stopped
41:48he can
41:48a bit of
41:49a block
41:49pass
41:50and he's
41:51through
41:51yeah that'll
41:51help Kyle
41:52ride though
41:52oh a little
41:54bit of a
41:54slide from
41:55Leon Haslam
41:56that's cost him
41:57a little bit
41:58Reading had to
42:01work hard
42:01initially
42:02from the
42:03fifth row
42:03of the grid
42:04and that race
42:04got red flagged
42:06he's boxed
42:07clever
42:07this afternoon
42:09on the Hager
42:10PBM
42:10Ducati
42:11Leon Haslam
42:12in second
42:13and that's
42:14a nice
42:14gap
42:14that Scott
42:15has just
42:15opened up
42:15that was
42:17helped by
42:17the fact
42:17that Leon
42:19Haslam
42:19and Kyle
42:20Rav
42:20are scobbling
42:20and Leon
42:21knows Kyle's
42:22there
42:22so he's
42:22defending

45:15this morning
45:16we had a
45:17bit of a
45:18bad tyre
45:19should we
45:19say
45:19I had no
45:20performance
45:20which then

45:23my teeth
45:24I did

45:30of the
45:31race
45:31like a
45:31scolded
45:31cat
45:32and I

45:45that Leon
45:46was struggling
45:46a little bit
45:47with the
45:47same thing
45:47so I thought
