00:00Mark and I bought a house together before we were married and it needed a lot of work. So we
00:13completely tore out the walls right down to the studs and rebuilt the whole inside. And he did
00:19most of the work himself. The basement had a family room where the kids would watch movies.
00:38The basement had their toys. That was their toy room for a while.
00:49One day, he brought home bags and bags of shredded paper. And he filled a room in the basement with shredded paper for the kids just to play in.
01:06The basement was where I did the laundry and just normal things like that. So I can't imagine anything else happening down in there.
01:19I can't imagine what it is.
01:23I don't want to get away from some creepy guy.
01:53I believe I saved someone's life.
02:16It's honestly the truth that I saved someone's life that day.
02:19And something I'll never forget as long as I live.
02:23It was Thanksgiving.
02:27We were getting ready to celebrate and heading into the holidays.
03:01The outfit that the gentleman is wearing.
03:33He was feared for his life.
03:35And I've never experienced that.
04:06And he says, help me, help me, keep him away from me.
04:08He's trying to kill me.
04:10And I'm like, okay, you need to get off of my property right now.
04:13You need to leave.
04:14The police are on their way.
04:15He calmly got into his truck and left.
04:17And the minute he pulls out of my driveway, there's three state police officers pulling
04:21into my driveway.
04:22In the November incident, the Michigan State Police were dispatched to Tyrell Road in Morris.
04:30A man had escaped a basement.
04:33The man indicated to the police that he had gone to this individual's house willingly,
04:38that he had wanted to engage in some sort of encounter with him.
04:42And then he was later woken up by something and discovered that he had been chained to the
04:50wall.
04:50As the man spoke to police, at first he presented it as, you know, he was abducted, kidnapped.
05:00As it went on, he started to kind of change his tune a little bit to police and said that,
05:06oh, maybe I misunderstood.
05:07Maybe this was part of a role play scenario.
05:11I'm asking you a straight up question, my man.
05:13Are you looking to press charges for what happened today?
05:17No.
05:17The man indicates that he has fled a house down the road and points to the house.
05:42They knocked on his door, and when he opened the door, he was in a kilt.
05:45He had on a leather harness, and on the leather harness were metal rings that displayed different
05:52portions of his abdomen.
05:54Hello.
05:55Why don't you come on out?
05:56Oh, sure.
05:58We're going to help you there.
05:59Well, I think you probably know why we're here, right?
06:02Well, yeah.
06:03The goofy guy that I'm having sex with decided to take off with my kilt.
06:07Okay.
06:08The man said it was a consensual sexual encounter and that he just wanted his kilt back and was
06:14happy to give the police the man's clothing.
06:16And so the police were kind of handicapped.
06:18They couldn't do anything about it.
06:20I had no idea who he was or anything until it all came out and it was exposed, and then
06:27that's when all the information gets spilled on you.
06:32It's wild.
06:33It's something that's hard to imagine, something that's hard to just fabricate.
06:37True life is sometimes worse than your imagination.
06:42True life is sometimes worse than your imagination.
07:07On Christmas Day 2019, the Bacon family had agreed to have brunch all together.
07:20Mom, Dad, Kevin, and his sister.
07:24And Kevin hadn't shown up.
07:28The actual day Kevin went missing, I was just at home and I had hopped on Facebook.
07:35Kevin's roommate posted a video of him kind of leaving the house, and she just asked
07:43if anybody had heard from Kevin, if anybody had seen him.
07:47She was just a little concerned because his phone was off, his location was off, and they
07:51couldn't get a hold of him at all.
07:56I knew Christmas and his family were kind of like a big deal because we had talked about
07:59it, you know, the months leading up to it.
08:01So I even shot him a little message, and I was like, hey, you know, like, just let me
08:07know if you're good.
08:09But I didn't get any response back.
08:12So I was at work when I first heard he was missing.
08:15My friend had came up to me, and she said, well, you know, his friend made a post saying
08:19that no one's heard or seen from him.
08:21I immediately got on Facebook, and I tried to call him, I tried to text him, you know,
08:28no answer.
08:31He always had his phone on him, so it was very alarming that he wasn't answering his
08:35phone, and his phone was off, and no one could get a hold of him.
08:39Kevin Bacon was born in 1994.
08:55He went to high school at Swartz Creek High School, and then he went on to get a beautician
09:00license, and he got into doing hair.
09:03Kevin was big, he was tall, he was very bubbly.
09:10Kevin was definitely someone that you would notice if they were entering the room, because
09:15he would make sure.
09:16His name's Kevin Bacon, so he was very big on the, oh my goodness, you know, everybody
09:20knows who I am, because my name's Kevin Bacon.
09:23Everyone loved Kevin.
09:24He would always have Taylor Swift playing on his computer, so everyone would always try
09:28to, like, just, on their breaks, we'd stop over and just jam out.
09:32He was just very funny, he was caring, he always asked how your day was, or how are you doing.
09:38He always wanted to make sure that everyone else, even though he was probably not having
09:41the best day, that everyone else knew, you know, like, it's okay, don't worry about it.
09:48Kevin was an openly gay man, and he was living in central Michigan.
09:53Swartz Creek is a smaller town to begin with, and people just aren't as outgoing, and don't
09:59expose that side of themselves as much.
10:02Kevin would be a lot more, I would say, conservative.
10:07If he was, like, around town and things like that, he wouldn't be as open with his makeup
10:11and his hair and his clothes, just because there was a lot of judgment around that time
10:16on openly gay men.
10:18After Kevin Bacon didn't show up for Christmas morning breakfast, the family eventually went
10:32out and started searching for him, places where they thought he might be.
10:35Swartz Creek is a pretty small town.
10:40It's very, you know, conservative.
10:42They have their ways.
10:44It's a town that has a lot of middle-class families, and then as you get out of town,
10:49it gets more rural.
10:50So on Christmas Day, I knew they were kind of gathering around to maybe do, like, a search
10:58party, because they were just becoming really concerned that Kevin hadn't reached out to
11:02anybody.
11:02Kevin's family contacted the police in the afternoon of Christmas and told the police
11:11that he was supposed to be at brunch with them.
11:13The police put out an alert if anybody were to come in contact with somebody that matched
11:20Kevin's description.
11:29Not long after that, while driving around, Kevin's father located Kevin's car parked in
11:36a parking lot of a small strip mall in a community named Clayton Township, a small township
11:42that is within a couple miles of Swartz Creek.
11:46Kevin was driving a 2007 white Saturn Aura.
11:52Found in the backseat of the car was his black hoodie, some gray pants, a pink shirt, which
11:58are some of the items he's believed to have last worn.
12:01Along with that was a powered-off cell phone.
12:03I would tell my husband, I'm like, I really just hope, like, he's not dead.
12:14I honestly said, I was like, I just hope he's not dead.
12:17I hope he's just, you know, having a moment, having a bad day, because that would just be
12:22the worst thing possible.
12:23Like, I just really hope that these situations didn't get the best of him.
12:27While searching Kevin's car, in addition to his clothes and his phone, they also found
12:41a pack of cigarettes.
12:49And his family indicated that that pack of cigarettes was not something that Kevin smoked.
12:54And they thought it could have been one of Kevin's exes that did smoke that brand.
13:05I know that Kevin had one ex in particular that he did not end amicably with, and so his
13:12family didn't particularly like this individual.
13:15I think that Kevin was, you know, looking for love in the wrong places.
13:27My thought process was there had to have been somebody else involved, because I don't think
13:32Kevin would leave his personal belongings in his vehicle in a parking lot.
13:37The family quickly put together a flyer that went out on social media.
13:58It showed pictures of Kevin.
14:00It contained pictures of his tattoos and a number with a reward to call police if they
14:07knew of his whereabouts.
14:09Kevin, he went viral pretty quickly.
14:13The whole case did.
14:15His missing poster got a lot of shares on it.
14:19Kevin's name, it is connected, obviously, to a famous Hollywood actor named Kevin Bacon.
14:26And people were making that connection.
14:28Even at one point, Kevin Bacon on social media reached out and basically said he fell for the
14:33family.
14:33The police went and spoke with Kevin's ex that was named by his family, and he indicated to
14:44them that he was out of town, that he had been visiting family, and hadn't seen Kevin since
14:48before Thanksgiving.
14:51Ultimately, they determined he hadn't been involved in Kevin's disappearance.
14:54At one point, searchers found a pool of blood outside of the Swartz Creek Raceway.
15:03There was reports of blood found in the bushes over here.
15:08So police have been back here with dogs.
15:12It's not ordinary that you would find blood in that area.
15:15So with not knowing what happened to Kevin and thinking there could be a potential violence,
15:20this probably raised some flags for them.
15:22It's pretty rural.
15:25We're in mid-Michigan, and so it was surrounded by woods, and I think the police were, at that
15:31point, extremely concerned that something had happened to Kevin, and he was potentially
15:34in the woods.
15:37The police located the blood at the raceway, and there was almost a trail leading away from
15:44where that blood was.
15:45And they followed the trail, and it ultimately turned out that it was an animal in the woods
15:49and that it wasn't actually Kevin.
15:52I think everyone always hopes for the best, but I do think a lot of people knew that it
16:02wasn't going to have a good, happy ending like we wanted it to.
16:06Early in the missing person investigation, the police went and spoke to Kevin's roommate
16:13that he was living with at the time.
16:17She indicated that Kevin had previously gone out on dates with people and would come home
16:23late.
16:23His roommate was one of the people who gave some background to police.
16:29He did have kind of a risky lifestyle at some times where he was meeting people for casual
16:34sex.
16:34On December 24th, Kevin had spent the day with his mother and his sister.
16:49He took them to the salon he had just recently begun working at, uniquely used salon, and
16:54he had given them makeovers.
16:55And then he dropped them off, and he went back to his apartment where he met his roommate.
17:00She indicated that on Christmas Eve, he had told her he was going out to meet someone,
17:08that he would probably be home late.
17:09And then he left the house at about 5.30.
17:11And then about an hour later, he messaged her and said, you know, don't wait up.
17:18If my mom calls, tell her I'm sleeping.
17:21I'm going out to have some fun tonight.
17:22The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit was able to gain access to Kevin's phone.
17:42And that opened up information about who he was talking to and when and what his plans
17:47were.
17:47So the contents of the conversation on Kevin's phone indicated that he had reached out to
18:06this individual, that they then were going back and forth about setting up a sexual encounter.
18:12The man was asking Kevin, what was Kevin's fantasy?
18:19And Kevin described his fantasy for the man, and the man agreed to set it up.
18:26There's a lot of people who have the wrong idea about BDSM.
18:32And I think that's something that he wasn't ready for at the time.
18:45I do think he was vulnerable.
18:46And I think that that was why he, you know, explored and ventured out the way that he did.
18:51They paused their meetup until Christmas Eve.
18:58Kevin messaged this man and said, one last question.
19:03You're going to keep me safe, right?
19:05The profile on Kevin's phone that he was communicating with was named Olikovs.
19:23And the police discovered in the course of their investigation that that is a Greek word
19:26that means wolf.
19:28The police ran the profile photo through facial recognition and determined that that individual
19:33was named Mark Latonsky.
19:34And at that point, they realized, oh, we know this guy.
19:41He's had at least two incidents, one in November and one in October, where people had escaped
19:47his house and claimed that they had been locked in his basement.
19:51Help me.
19:52Help me.
19:53Mark Latonsky was a man that was born and raised in Chiawassee County.
20:06He was extremely intelligent.
20:09He also had previously been married, had four children.
20:12So that evening, the police approached the house.
20:19The house is set back from the road, so it's not something that you have ready access to
20:24just driving down the street.
20:25It is a two-story house.
20:28There's a large front door.
20:30There's also a side door off of the driveway, which the police approached.
20:34Because it's rural, there is not street lights.
20:38So when the police approached the house, the only lights that they had were the lights from
20:42their cars and the light from the doorway that they approached.
20:46Police knock on the door, and Mark Latonsky emerges from the front door.
20:55He's holding a small toy dog, and he's wearing nothing but a leather kilt.
21:03It kind of gives you visions of a movie, really.
21:07I mean, you know, Silence of the Lambs type feel when you see someone come to the door with
21:11a dog in a kilt, and you don't know what's going on with the person you're looking for.
21:16The police said, hi, Mark.
21:18How are you?
21:19Is anybody else here?
21:21And Latonsky indicated he was the only one there.
21:24So the police enter the residence, and Mark says, go ahead and look around.
21:28He stood in the living room with two officers.
21:33Mark collected a lot of Celtic items.
21:36So there was Celtic decor.
21:39He had decorated a palm tree for Christmas, so it was lit up.
21:43There were piles of clothes in the upstairs.
21:48There were his children's bedrooms that appeared to be untouched.
21:52It was messy, but there wasn't anything that indicated something bad had happened, or even
21:57that Kevin had been in the residence.
21:59So as the police had covered the rest of the house, all they had left was the basement.
22:10The police go down the basement stairs.
22:13Directly ahead of them is what I would describe a woodworking room.
22:26Off to one side, there is a full living room.
22:29There's a couch.
22:30There's a coffee table.
22:31There's a TV.
22:32There's some workout equipment.
22:33One of the officers noticed that there was a decorative-style barn door that slides,
22:49leading to what appeared to be some sort of a secret room.
22:53One of the police officers put his hand to the door and discovered that the door itself
22:59was warm, indicated that there was something beyond the dirt of the basement beyond it.
23:08And as he moved that door, he saw that it was about a five-foot deep room.
23:17The flooring was all decking that had been recently stained.
23:20There were cinder block walls.
23:24There was tamper-resistant lights hanging from the ceiling.
23:29There were a couple of locations that had chains hanging from the ceilings.
23:33Also located in the room were numerous sex toys.
23:36There was a blindfold.
23:38There were a couple different sets of handcuffs or wrist restraints.
23:43And then the police looked to the right and discovered that there is a body hanging in the basement.
23:50They backed out of the room.
23:59They were described by the other officers as the life having been drained out of them,
24:04that they were white.
24:06They kept saying, oh my God, oh my God.
24:08Mark has always been good at building things.
24:17It was really shocked at the fact that he would want to put something like that in his house
24:22and the purpose it was for.
24:24And I hope it wasn't there when my kids were there.
24:33I had a lot of calls for interviews.
24:40Different news stations wanted interviews, but I wanted to protect my children,
24:44so I didn't interview with anyone.
24:46I denied all requests for interviews.
24:48I am Emily Latonsky, ex-wife of Mark Latonsky, and the mother of his children.
24:56We first told you about 25-year-old Kevin Bacon when he was reported missing
25:07from his Swartz Creek home on Christmas Day.
25:10Michigan State Police say they found Bacon's body early this morning
25:13at a home in Bennington Township.
25:15And so far, police say they've arrested one 50-year-old male in connection to the murder.
25:20Mark and I met in late 1999 or early 2000.
25:35We shared mutual friends, and they set us up on a date.
25:38Then it went from there.
25:41We had our first child in 2003, and I became a stay-at-home mom.
25:46And three children followed.
25:47We loved to go to see Broadway shows together, trips to Chicago,
25:53and different things like that, as we liked to travel a lot.
25:58He was very quirky, I thought, very kind, and just kind of a soft-spoken guy.
26:06Mark and I lived in Morris.
26:08We bought a house together.
26:10It's a small cottage-style house that sits on the top of a hill.
26:13The basement, it had a sand floor, and it wasn't finished all the way under the house.
26:20So we had it lifted and had a brick mason lay a whole new foundation and basement to it.
26:25The room where Kevin was found was underneath the front porch.
26:31And when we were redoing the house,
26:33Mark wanted the basement to go all the way to the floor under the porch
26:37because he wanted to use it for storage.
26:51The body that police discovered in the basement was naked.
26:55It was hanging suspended by ropes from its ankles
26:58that were then attached to a pulley system on the ceiling
27:04that the rope then went down to a pile of dumbbells on the floor.
27:09The best way to describe it without seeing it
27:11is that it would be akin to the way that somebody would hang a deer
27:14after they've shot it to let the blood run out.
27:20As police investigated further,
27:22they noticed that there was an injury to his neck,
27:25and it appeared that his neck had been cut.
27:28They also noticed another injury to his groin area.
27:31Immediately upon discovering the body,
27:36the state trooper went to the stairs
27:39and told his partner to put Mark Lutonski in handcuffs.
27:47Mark Lutonski was put into the back of a patrol car
27:50while they called in a forensic team and more detectives.
27:55Nothing happens here in Siawassee.
27:57Mark didn't appear, based on the video, to be concerned.
28:05He appeared to be calm.
28:13He repeatedly asked the police to make sure
28:16that his dog was kept safe inside,
28:18and what was going to happen to her
28:19while he was at the police station,
28:21he fully expected that he would be returning home.
28:23One of the Michigan State Police Sergeants
28:29that was on scene took the missing person flyer
28:32and was able to identify Kevin based on his tattoos
28:35and based on his current hair color.
28:40I was actually working.
28:42It was a Saturday,
28:44and my boss' boss, she came up to me,
28:47and she was like,
28:48hey, I need to talk to you,
28:49and I just, my stomach just instantly dropped,
28:51and I was like, oh.
28:54I was with my friend,
28:55and, you know, we both just broke down,
28:57and that was, that was it, so.
29:02I wanted, I really, I mean, I wanted him to be alive.
29:05I just knew that, I just knew
29:07it wasn't, it wasn't going to be that way, so.
29:09Once the police identified that the body was Kevin,
29:19they contacted detectives,
29:21and they contacted the crime scene response team.
29:25They noted that there was significant pooling of blood
29:29that was on the deck material that was on the floor.
29:34They also noted that there was blood spatter on the walls.
29:37As police searched the rest of the house,
29:41they found an unusual item on the stove,
29:44and it was later determined
29:47that that was actually part of Kevin.
29:50It was his testicles.
29:58Mark was transported to the detachment in Corona
30:01to be interviewed by two detective sergeants
30:03regarding the case.
30:04In that interview, he initially denied
30:08his name was Mark Lutensky.
30:10That is not my legal name.
30:12Oh, it isn't?
30:13No.
30:14That is a stolen identity.
30:17The video shows him wearing a kilt still,
30:19and talking to police,
30:23and answering their questions,
30:25and sometimes a very confusing way.
30:27Okay.
30:27What is the name that you prefer to be called?
30:31So, the name that I go by is O-L-E-G-O-S.
30:36How do you spell it?
30:36O-L-Y-A-O-S.
30:39And when I hear the name Mark Lutensky,
30:43I know that somebody's talking garbage.
30:46It's not real.
30:47Okay, what do you know?
30:48Mark was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia
30:53shortly after our youngest child was born.
30:57I convinced him to go to the hospital twice.
31:01And he was put on medication,
31:03but he wouldn't stay on it
31:05once he got out of the hospital.
31:06There was a time where
31:11he did not come home from work on a Friday night.
31:14I told my dad that Mark had not come home.
31:17And so, my father drove to his workplace
31:20and found his truck in the parking lot.
31:23His cell phone was on the seat.
31:24His keys were in the truck.
31:27We made a police report,
31:28and they told us, because he's an adult,
31:31that we had to wait, I think it was 24 hours,
31:34before they would do anything about it.
31:36And so, Mark came home on a Sunday afternoon.
31:42He walked right in the door
31:42like nothing had ever happened.
31:44I found out later that he had met a man online
31:48and had gone to Indiana
31:49to spend the weekend with him
31:51and never told anyone.
31:54At that time, I learned
31:55he was cheating on me with men.
31:58And at that point,
32:01I told him I wanted a divorce.
32:02Mark really didn't contact us
32:07until a few years later.
32:09He had gone for about four years
32:11not seeing the kids.
32:12And then he contacted me
32:15and he wanted to start visits again.
32:17He only had the kids every other weekend.
32:20And I think he reserved his activities
32:23for when they weren't there
32:24because they never said anything
32:25about him being in the basement
32:27or anything when they were there.
32:29So...
32:29So you initially start talking
32:33with Kevin on Grindr.
32:36You two physically meet the first time
32:38after the agreement for his fetish
32:42and what you wanted to happen.
32:44We chatted for a while.
32:47He described the things that he wanted.
32:49They had a sexual encounter
33:02and ended up in the basement.
33:03And after we sat
33:07and made an agreement
33:09about what was going to happen,
33:13we made the agreement
33:16and he was supposed to disappear,
33:23be gone.
33:25So he presented it as if
33:26he wanted to do a humane killing of Kevin
33:29on Kevin's behalf.
33:31Because what did he do?
33:33Well, after talking to him
33:36in multiple ways,
33:38that was when he laid out,
33:42he said, I'm ready.
33:44And I says, well,
33:48I could, I could
33:50slit your throat.
33:51I mean, here's the knife.
33:53I could do it that way.
33:56And after we debated it,
33:57I said, you know what?
34:00I think that given,
34:03given what we've got right here,
34:06if I just take the knife
34:08and put it through your spine,
34:12that that will do.
34:14The detectives in their interview
34:18were talking with Lutenski
34:19about what his plan was.
34:22You killed Kevin,
34:23now what?
34:24After he was dead,
34:26he was hanging.
34:28I was done for the night.
34:31And it was then that
34:32I started to do
34:34what I told him I was going to do.
34:36I was going to eat part of him.
34:38That was when
34:40I took his balls,
34:44I cut them out,
34:45and I took them upstairs
34:46and I ate them.
34:47You said his balls?
34:48His balls.
34:52As news came out
34:54that he had eaten portions
34:55of the victim,
34:57that extent of evil
35:00makes you wonder
35:02if there was more,
35:03and especially when you know
35:04that there were two other men
35:05who escaped the home.
35:07Has he done this before?
35:08And obviously,
35:09I think that's what
35:10a lot of people thought,
35:11both in the public
35:11and within the police department.
35:13You know what?
35:14I'll spend time with you.
35:16You know,
35:17man can't guarantee sex.
35:19Sometimes it works.
35:20Sometimes it doesn't.
35:21But you want to spend
35:23your time with me?
35:24Boom.
35:25Here's your price.
35:34Speaking to people
35:36in the area,
35:37clearly it was a shock.
35:40It appears Kevin
35:41thought he was going to go out
35:43and have fun
35:43with Mark Lutonski
35:45and return home that night.
35:49At the time,
35:50the police were very concerned
35:52that this may have not been
35:54Lutonski's first killing.
35:57So they broached
35:58the subject with him
35:59and asked him
36:00if he had ever done this
36:01to anybody else.
36:02Has this ever happened before?
36:04No.
36:05You've never assisted anybody
36:06with these type of wishes?
36:08No, I haven't.
36:09Or eaten anybody else's testicles
36:11or any other part of it?
36:12No.
36:16The Michigan State Police
36:17had reached out
36:18to the Federal Bureau
36:20of Investigation
36:20and talked to them
36:22about this particular case.
36:25The result of the conversation
36:26was that the FBI
36:28also didn't believe
36:29Mark had ever killed anyone else.
36:31But they did indicate,
36:32and the State Police agreed,
36:34that there was potential
36:36if Lutonski hadn't been caught
36:38that he could have.
36:43Kevin's mom,
36:45actually, you know,
36:46she kind of told me
36:47some things at the funeral
36:48before they were released
36:50to the public
36:51about the way that
36:52they found him,
36:54you know,
36:54just very gruesome details.
36:59And then seeing Kevin
37:01laying there in his casket,
37:03knowing that, like,
37:05underneath all of his clothes
37:06there was parts of him
37:07that were missing.
37:08I mean,
37:10I could never see Kevin
37:11asking for things like that.
37:13Just,
37:13it was just so gruesome
37:15and just,
37:16you know,
37:16it just doesn't make any sense.
37:17Like, why would,
37:18if he's dead,
37:19why would he ask you
37:20to do, you know,
37:21eat parts of him
37:22and things like that?
37:23The police were never able
37:28to discover anything
37:30that supported
37:30Mark's version of events.
37:32Kevin specifically said
37:33in his messages to Lutonski,
37:35you're going to keep me safe, right?
37:38And that has always indicated
37:40to the police
37:40and to myself
37:41as one of the prosecutors
37:42that Kevin wanted to go home,
37:45that this was not
37:45a suicide attempt from Kevin.
37:48I don't believe that
37:50Kevin asked Mark
37:52to help him commit suicide.
37:54I do think that
37:56if Mark got it into his head
37:58that Kevin wanted him to do it,
38:01that it was fact.
38:04And so,
38:05if Mark convinced himself
38:06that that's what
38:07Kevin wanted to happen,
38:09then that was what
38:10Kevin wanted to happen.
38:11I don't believe
38:12Kevin wanted it to happen.
38:16In September of 2022,
38:19after months of prepping for trial,
38:21Mark Lutonski
38:22determined he was going
38:24to plead guilty
38:25to both counts.
38:26So he pled guilty
38:27to open murder
38:28and mutilation
38:30of a dead body.
38:31I never imagined
38:44that this would be something
38:46in my life at all.
38:48I never imagined
38:49we would go through
38:49something like this.
38:52Mark is
38:53my kids' father
38:55mother.
38:56And in order for them
38:57to be okay,
38:59they need to know
39:00that the Mark he is now
39:02is not the Mark he was.
39:05I need them to know
39:06that he loved them
39:07very much
39:08and that who he is now
39:10is not who he is,
39:12who he was.
39:13He was a completely
39:14different person.
39:15It's a heartbreaking situation
39:22because two families
39:24have been affected.
39:26Kevin's family
39:27and my family.
39:28My children
39:29don't have a father
39:30and Kevin's family
39:32don't have their child.
39:34And so,
39:34to me,
39:35it's sad,
39:38really sad
39:38all the way around.
39:39I coordinated,
39:43it's called
39:44The Rock.
39:45It's like a big block
39:46of paint in Flint
39:47that people
39:48have painted
39:49for,
39:51I don't know,
39:52a long,
39:53long time.
39:55I just want Kevin
39:56to remember
39:57for who he was
39:57beyond what happened
39:59to him
39:59and to know
40:02that his story
40:03was big enough
40:04to reach
40:05everybody.
40:07I mean,
40:08Kevin Bacon,
40:08the actor,
40:09Jeffree Star.
40:10Dr. Phil sent
40:11flowers to his funeral.
40:13So,
40:14I think he touched
40:16a lot of people
40:16and I think
40:17he also made
40:19a lot of people
40:20more aware
40:21of what can really happen
40:22if you don't
40:23take precautions
40:25and be safe
40:26when you're meeting
40:27people off of the internet
40:28that you've never met before.
40:31I want to be able
40:32to give Kevin his light.
40:34I want to be able
40:34to shine
40:35and let everyone know
40:36what kind of a person
40:37Kevin actually was,
40:38realized that he wasn't
40:39what happened to him.
40:40He's not,
40:42you know,
40:43this crazy,
40:44sexually,
40:45he was just
40:45a guy looking for love,
40:48trying to be comfortable
40:49in his own skin
40:50and find his own way
40:51and unfortunately,
40:53he came into contact
40:54with someone
40:55who took him
40:56away from the world.
40:57so looking back,
41:13you see a path
41:14of things
41:15that escalate
41:16over time.
41:16happened to him,
41:19and he was just
41:19like,
41:20he's a big boy
41:20here.
41:21We're going to be able
41:22to make it
41:22to him.
41:23He was just
41:24a guy and he's
41:25like,
41:25he was just
41:26a guy saying,
41:27he's a guy and I'm like,
41:27he's a guy,
41:28oh,
41:29like,
41:29I may be able
41:29to make it
41:30because he was like,
