00:00The palace confirmed that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met with House Speaker Martin Romualdez yesterday amid the ongoing leadership changes in the House of Representatives.
00:10According to palace press officer and communications undersecretary Claire Castro, the two had a discussion, but details of their meeting were kept under wraps.
00:19The palace also stated that if Romualdez were to resign, it would be understandable, especially if his decision was to protect the integrity of Congress and ensure a fair investigation.
00:31Romualdez had been linked to issues regarding alleged anomalies and flood control projects.
00:36However, the palace emphasized that his potential resignation would not be a get-out-of-jail-free card,
00:42and it would still be held accountable if evidence pointed to his involvement in the matter.
