00:00Trouble seems to be brewing in the halls of power with attempts to sway officials surfacing amid an ongoing investigation.

00:08Authorities say they are separating the wheat from the chaff to get to the bottom of the matter before taking action.

00:15Rod Lagusa tells us more.

00:18There have been attempts to bribe him amid the ongoing investigation on flood control projects according to Ombudsman Jesus Christin Rimulia.

00:25However, these were not direct offers to him that allegedly reach around 1 billion pesos.

00:46According to Ombudsman Rimulia, he discussed this with his brother, DILG's Secretary John Big Rimulia,

00:51adding that had there been a direct offer, the person involved would have already been arrested.

00:55Also, he asked former DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan to return home as he is overstaying in the United States

01:01and the U.S. State Department could deport him.

01:29Rimulia stressed that it is not necessary for everyone to become a state witness,

01:34especially since authorities are determining who is not the most guilty.

01:37He said retracting their earlier statements would only create additional problems.

01:42Rimulia also said that a case will be filed tomorrow before the Sandigan Bayan,

01:46but he did not yet provide details regarding the matter.
