00:49This was the response of the camp of later Representative and former Speaker Martin Romualdez
00:53to the allegations that he bought a property in a plush subdivision in Lakati City and used the Discaias as front buyers.
01:03According to Romualdez's camp, this is clearly a baseless accusation.
01:07The claim in the report about using the Discaias as a front in a property purchase is outright baseless.
01:16They also stressed that even previously in a hearing in Congress wherein Curly Discaia testified,
01:22they recall him saying that he had no transaction or direct contact to the former House leader.
01:28Mr. Curly Discaia categorically declared, I quote,
01:35Gusto ko lang po linawin na wala po akong directang transaksyon.
01:42Hindi po ako nagkaroon ng anumang klaseng transaksyon kay Speaker Martin Romualdez.
01:49It was Senate President Pro Tempore and Blue Ribbon Committee Chairman Panfilo Lacson
01:54who exposed the said transaction between the Discaias and Romualdez.
01:59However, he admitted it is yet to be confirmed by the previous owner
02:03and he does not have any concrete evidence yet to prove the claim.

03:13On the scheduled Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on Monday, the previous owner may possibly attend if he or she is willing to testify.
03:20Meanwhile, Laxon said the doors of the committee is open for Sen. Aimee Marquez if she wants to show pieces of evidence which will link Romualdez to the flood control scandal.
