00:00Meanwhile, candidates in the May 2025 midterm polls who are bankrolled or funded by foreign money such as China

00:07could be yanked and stripped off their candidacies by the poll body,

00:12so says Kamalek Commissioner George Erwin Garcia on the Senate hearing on alleged candidates receiving financial help from China, among others,

00:21as we hear more from our Daniel Manalastas.

00:24Just a week before the 2025 midterm elections, Kamalek was asked during the Senate probe

00:32if candidates which got support from a foreign country could actually be disqualified.

00:38This is in connection with the revelation in a previous hearing that there are indications that China is interfering with the 2025 polls.

01:13Kamalek Pinwal said they have encountered problems from the spread of disinformation or fake news.

01:43At ginagamit din sa atin yung naka-autobot ang lahat ng mga information.

01:49The co-founder and managing partner of the controversial PR firm, Infinite Us Marketing Solutions, also faced the Senate panel.

01:58It can be recalled that the PR firm is facing allegations about troll farms and an alleged contract it supposedly has with the Chinese embassy.

02:07But as they faced the Senate panel, they denied all allegations hurdled against them.

02:13This issue has already affected our business.

02:17I categorically denied the allegation that Infinite Us has engaged in any unlawful activity,

02:24including the spread of disinformation to influence this coming election.

02:31The supposed contract shown is not known to us, was never authorized by us.

02:36Senator Francis Tolentino is not buying some of their statements though.
