T&T Sprinter Jereem Richards has qualified for the final of the Men's 400 meters of the World Championships in Tokyo.

He made Thursday's final as a non-automatic qualifier. He came third in Heat two which was the fastest of three heats with a season's best time of 44.12 seconds. Botswana's Busang Collen Kebinatshipi won with a time of World Leading time of 43.61 seconds. Jamaica's Rusheen Mc Donald was second in 44.04 seconds.

A few big names missed out on the final including Grenadian Kirani James and Olympic bronze medalist Muzala Samukonga as well as Olympic Silver medalist Matthew Hudson Smith.
