00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday morning which is wet for many.
00:05Low pressures tracked across towards the west of the UK pushing weather fronts from the south-west up towards the north-east.
00:13You can see this heavy rain extending across more western and central areas.
00:16We do have two rain warnings across Wales as we head through the day.
00:20I'd like to see some high rainfall totals, 30 to 70 millimetres of rain causing problems,
00:25particularly on the up slopes, lots of running water there, surface issues as well as poor visibility.
00:30If you are travelling through this morning and in fact into this afternoon as well across more southern counties as that rain stores across these parts.
00:37So as we head through into the first part of Wednesday morning, this is the weather front moving in.
00:42You can see a deep area of low pressure tracking towards the north-west of Scotland through the day.
00:47This weather front continues and returns through Thursday as well with coastal gales towards the north-west.
00:52And then it just slices down the central part of England and Wales through Thursday into Friday.
00:58More rain arrives from the south-west as winds ease elsewhere.
01:02So through this morning, if you are stepping out, it's fine across Caithness, Aberdeenshire, Sutherland.
01:06A few showers for Orkney as well as Shetland.
01:09This rain moving in across western and southern parts.
01:11The Scotland clowns spilling ahead of it.
01:13You've had a western windy start for Northern Ireland but it is improving from the west.
01:16But notice mass of rain across much of England and Wales with some heavy downpours through this morning.
01:22So that will cause problems on the roads and this driving wind.
01:26So high waves across Irish seacoast up towards the North Channel as well as western parts of Scotland.
01:31Through the morning into the afternoon then you can see this rain moves northwards.
01:36So the heaviest pulses will always be across more southern areas.
01:39And the rain becomes a bit more fragmented across the highlands as it pushes towards the northeast of Scotland through the morning into the afternoon.
01:45Some brighter weather for Shetland as well as Northern Ireland.
01:48In fact an improving picture across northern England, southern Scotland as this rain continues across central southern parts of England and Wales.
01:56And notice still some high rainfall totals across southern parts of Wales as we head through the afternoon.
02:01But temperatures on the up feeling milder, warmer than the last few days.
02:0522 will be high across eastern counties.
02:0719 for the central belt of Scotland as well as Northern Ireland down towards the southwest probably 18 or 19 Celsius.
02:13But watch out for that wind, that driving wind.
02:16Through this evening and overnight then that rain continues.
02:19It will pulse from the southwest extending towards the Midlands eastern counties through the night.
02:24The rain clears the far north of Scotland but it returns towards the northwest as we head into the early hours of Thursday morning with some coastal gales.
02:32Through Thursday then, well some brighter weather across Scotland to start the day.
02:36This area of rain pushes across Northern Ireland, Northern England, North Wales.
02:39It's not going to move very far, very fast.
02:41There's a lot of forcing on it.
02:43Towards the south there, the cloud will break at times allowing for some brighter weather.
02:46So here's that weather front through the afternoon.
02:48Some fine conditions towards the north although it will be windy.
02:51And also towards the south as well as central areas.
02:54And look at these temperatures, 22, 23 degrees Celsius.
02:57And even further north we'll see 18 or 19.
03:01So that's a picture through Thursday afternoon.
03:03That weather front never too far away.
03:04It will remain across more central areas.
03:07And then into Friday, more rain arrives towards the southwest later.
03:10We could see some brighter breaks coming through, particularly in shelter across central and eastern areas.
03:15And across Scotland and Northern Ireland, mostly dry.
03:17Cloud comes and goes.
03:18There could be a few showers around as well.
03:20I'll see you later.
03:21Have a lovely day.
