00:00Hello, good morning, welcome to your latest Met Office forecast and low pressure is really
00:05dominating this week's weather. We've got unsettled conditions across the UK bringing
00:11areas of rain at times, some stronger winds, some heavy showers, but there will be some
00:15sunny spells at times too, but it stays unsettled right through into the Easter weekend. We have
00:21some heavy rain this morning, particularly across western parts of the UK, Northern
00:24Ireland and into Wales. The West Country is seeing some heavy bursts of rain, could be
00:29some localised flooding, some travel disruption if you are on the roads. Met Office warnings
00:33remaining in force through the day across Northern Ireland, where we stay cloudy across
00:38many northern parts of the UK, Northern England, parts of Scotland seeing outbreaks of rain too,
00:43which could be heavy at times. All this accompanied by some strong winds too, gales possible around
00:48the coast and over the hills. Blustery conditions across the rest of England and Wales too, with
00:53some scattered showers developing, but also plenty of sunny spells, and in that sunshine
00:58temperatures lifting towards the mid-teens, 15, 16, maybe 17 Celsius, but under the cloud,
01:03the wind and the rain, it will be quite cold. Temperatures struggling in some places to reach
01:08double figures. Just the far north of Scotland also seeing some drier and brighter weather.
01:13However, this low pressure system is moving its way northward, so rain soon arriving here,
01:18and overnight what we'll see is clearer skies across parts of Northern Ireland, down into Wales and the
01:23Midlands, where we could see a touch of frost in the countryside. Some showers moving in across
01:28southern counties of England as well, but generally Northern England into Scotland, it stays cloudy,
01:34but the rain starting to ease. And we can see temperatures under the cloud, generally holding up
01:38five, six Celsius, but in the countryside we could be closer to freezing. So it is a mixed start to
01:44Thursday. Some sunshine for Northern Ireland, Wales, the Midlands, into Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
01:49Elsewhere, a mixture of scattered showers. Cloudier skies across Northern England into Scotland, with
01:54still some outbreaks of rain as this low pressure system starts to pull away. An afternoon of sunshine
01:59and scattered showers for many, but winds much lighter compared to Wednesday. Temperatures generally
02:04near average for the time of year, any sheltered spots in the south reaching around 15 or 16 Celsius.
02:10And then we'll see further outbreaks of heavy rain moving in for Good Friday and then further
02:16unsettled weather for the Easter weekend. If you'd like more information on this, follow us on our
02:20social media channel. See you soon.
