00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. Well, after some
00:04sunshine on Saturday, it's returned to wind and rain for most of us during the course
00:09of today. The rain is already spreading in across Northern Ireland and Western Scotland
00:13and that will just gradually spread its way eastwards during the course of the day. The
00:17far south-east hanging on to the brightest conditions for the longest and actually here
00:21it probably will remain dry until after dark. Heaviest of the rain across parts of south-western
00:26Scotland, north-western England, Wales and south-west England. Some fairly heavy rainfall
00:31here from time to time. Could be some traffic disruption in places and also some surface
00:36water on the road. So, if you do have any travel plans, do allow some extra time for
00:41your journeys. Also accompanied by a strong wind, could see gales reaching severe gales
00:45along some Irish sea coast. So again, could cause some disruption. Warnings are in force
00:50for wind and rain across many northern and western parts of the country during the course
00:54of the day. So, do stay up to date with the latest warnings on our website. By the end
00:59of the afternoon, we will start to see some brighter skies return across parts of Scotland
01:03and Northern Ireland, but also a scattering of showers quickly moving in. And for most
01:08of us, temperatures generally reaching double figures, but if you factor in the strength
01:12of this wind and also the rain, I think it will feel a little bit colder than these temperatures
01:17suggest. Into the evening, we continue to see the risk of some further heavy rainfall
01:22for southern parts of Wales, south-western England, but the rain will gradually clear
01:26here and would tend to just be lingering across the very far south-eastern corner of England
01:31by the end of the night. Elsewhere, a mixture of clear spells and some further blustery
01:36showers moving in, with the winds continuing to be fairly strong, especially across Scotland
01:41and Northern Ireland. Temperatures in most towns and cities not falling much lower than
01:468 or 9 degrees, could just fall a little bit lower than this in the countryside. So,
01:52as we start Monday morning, a bit of a cloudy dull start across the far south. That rain
01:56may well just push back up into the southern counties of England for a time during Monday
02:01morning, but really, for most of the UK on Monday, it's a mixture of sunny spells and
02:06blustery showers. Some of these showers will be on the heavy side, potentially the odd
02:10rumble of thunder too, and may be quite frequent for a time across the very far north of Scotland.
02:16Temperatures on Monday again, reaching double figures, could potentially be reaching the
02:20low teens across the far south-eastern parts of England, but the wind will temper the feel
02:27of things up across Scotland and Northern Ireland once again.
02:31A quick look at Tuesday, and this unsettled theme will continue. Another day of sunshine
02:35and showers, maybe some southern districts remaining largely dry, but the further north
02:40you are, definitely a chance of seeing one or two showers. Temperatures, very similar,
02:45could see highs just reaching double figures in the south. This is about average for the
02:50time of year. But you can find out more weather details where you are on our app or our website,
02:55and don't forget to follow us on YouTube. But from me for now, take care and I'll see
02:59you again soon.
