00:00We're months away from a high-voltage election in Tamil Nadu, and it's evident in the fact that you're seeing this huge political churn in the political cauldron beginning to boil.
00:11Assembly elections are months away. The battle lines are being redrawn, not just between political parties, but within them as well.
00:19The DMK clearly is sharpening its strategy, and they're very clear as far as who their leadership is.
00:25But for the AIA-DMK, it's found itself caught in the same old grip of factualism of other leaders coming out of nowhere.
00:34Sashikala has spoken out, saying, let the AIA-DMK be united.
00:38TTV Dhinakaran, who announced he's stepping out of the NDA, is also making a very public pitch for unity.
00:44Sengotian, who's sidelined by EPS, is also now speaking out, saying, we all need to work as one.
00:50One OPS weeks ago had left, quit the NDA, now says we should all come together.
00:57All of these leaders are speaking out one after another, clearly making a pitch for Edapati Parani Swami to ensure they're all brought back and made a part of either the AIA-DMK or to fight as an alliance with the NDA.
01:10But will that actually happen?
01:12We'll have to wait and see, because for now, EPS is making it very clear.
01:15There's no question of any of them being brought back in.
01:18But let's take you through all of those reactions coming in and the big issue, the big debate that EPS is staring at over the AIA-DMK's leadership.
01:26Tamil Nadu gears up for assembly elections next year.
01:51Alliances are taking shape, equations shifting.
01:56The AIA-DMK, the principal challenger to the DMK, has hit turbulence.
02:05The ghosts of expelled leaders are haunting the party's gore.
02:15One among them, VK Sasakala, breaks her silence on India today.
02:20The former aide of Jailalitha says she's on the right path hinting at a possible comeback.
02:27The chorus for unity is growing louder.
02:47Another expelled leader, former chief minister, Panir Silvam, appears to be seeking a way back.
02:53Senior party leader, Shingo Tien, who was sacked from party posts, has defended his call for unity.
03:20The leaders, hoping for a comeback, are up against E. Pallanaswamy.
03:25The leaders, hoping for a comeback, are up against E. Pallanaswamy.
03:29The former chief minister who now calls the shots in AIA-DMK.

04:04K
04:21The hard line taken by EPS has angered his detractors.
04:51So with the countdown to 2026, having begun, what's next?
05:00Can the AIA-DMK rise above ego and history?
05:06Can it march as one or fall divided?
05:12Bureau Report, India Today.
05:21And amid all of this uncertainty, Edipati Parniswamy is all set to visit Delhi tomorrow.
05:33It's possible that he will be meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah.
05:37Now what we're hearing is that Home Minister Amit Shah will be meeting with EPS.
05:41Remember that the BJP has also made it very clear where they stand as far as all of these rumblings are concerned.
05:47That the ultimate decision is with EPS, but they believe that there should be a united front.
05:52So they have been for the likes of Sashikala, TTV Dhinakaran and others to be brought into the fold as well.
05:59I want to bring in Pramod Madhu for more details of what's really expected when EPS makes its way to Delhi tomorrow.
06:05Pramod, we understand there is a courtesy meet planned with the newly chosen Vice President,
06:10but the headline grabber will be EPS's meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah.
06:14Is there a possibility of the BJP actually pushing for the likes of Sashikala, TTV OPS to be brought into the NDA, Pramod?
06:26Well, it is highly unlikely at this point, Akshita, because last time when the opposition leader at Apari K. Pramod,
06:31he met with Amit Shah, he did not even speak of it.
06:33In fact, when he went to Delhi, he simply claimed that he went over there to look at the new AIDMK office that was built in there.
06:39Then we saw that Amit Shah had met with the Home Minister Amit Shah and then later, Amit Shah came to Tamil Nadu
06:46and once again, the NDA alliance with AIDMK was forced and that led to the removal of Anna Malai being replaced by Naina Nagyedran.
06:54So, two important factors are over here, just like you mentioned.
06:57Now, EPS has to give an explanation about TTV Dinagaran exiting NDA, OPS exiting NDA and now Sengotian rebelling against him.
07:06No, even though he is not calling it as a rebellion, he simply says that he wants to unify the party.
07:10When EPS already claims the party is unified, who does Sengotian mean when he wants to unify?
07:15Is it OPS, NTTV Dinagaran or Sashikala?
07:19No, EPS very clearly does not want to be in the party.
07:22Can the party stay strong without all these members is something very important.
07:26EPS has to explain to Amit Shah tomorrow and will Amit Shah accept this explanation is something very important.
07:32Just like you mentioned, we put this question to Sashikala as well as to why AIDMK netas are going to Amit Shah to provide an explanation or talk about their own party matters.
07:42Sashikala did not give us a direct response to that as well, Akshita.
07:46Okay, so it's interesting to see what really will emerge from this particular meeting.
07:50There are some, of course, who opine that the best chance the AIDMK has against the DMK is to ensure that all forces unite, irrespective of differences.
08:00Others believe that it will only weaken the AIDMK because these are leaders who will vie for EPS's position to be the face, to be the leader.
08:09So it's a catch-22 situation of sorts.
08:11Pramod, I'm going to request you to stay on with me.
08:13I just want to break down for our viewers what's really happening and why this is such a conundrum for the AIDMK.
08:19Several names who are right now speaking for a united NDA and let's put those out for you.
08:26You have right at the heart of it, Edipadi Paraneswamy is the general secretary of the EPS.
08:31But on each level, there are different leaders speaking out.
08:35You have VK Sashikala as well as her nephew TTV Dhinakaran, both of whom have made it clear that they believe that they must come together as one.
08:44Now, they haven't really specified in what format they wanted, but they seem to be suggesting that they want to be back in the AIDMK.
08:50Remember, TTV Dhinakaran was part of the NDA, chose to step out.
08:54So clearly, they're making a pitch not to be just a part of the NDA, but to be in the AIDMK.
08:59As far as O Paneer Selvam is concerned, off this entire list, he was the first one to take that decision of leaving the NDA.
09:06He was rather critical, in fact, of the decision of the AIDMK-BJP alliance.
09:10So it'll be interesting to see if he changes his mind.
09:13But he too has made comments to the tune of everyone should come together.
09:19So again, looks like he doesn't have many political options ahead of him.
09:22Then you have AIDMK leader Sengotian, who faced a crackdown because he didn't really tow the party line.
09:28He questioned EPS's decisions, made a pitch again rather publicly for everyone to come together,
09:35for Sashikala TTV Dhinakaran to be brought back into the party fold.
09:38It didn't go down well with EPS, who immediately cracked the whip and removed him from the top post,
09:44the leadership post that he held within the AIDMK.
09:47He's still very much part of the party.
09:49But it remains to be seen how EPS chooses to deal with that.
09:52Because so far he's made it clear that he has zero tolerance for any of these comments about bringing in the likes of Sashikala.
09:58Will he change his mind after the meeting with Amit Shah is really the question.
10:03But there's a lot happening right now in Tamil Nadu.
10:06Because for the AIDMK and for the DMK too, there's one big headache, which is the Vijay factor.
10:13Over the weekend, Vijay held his first of many rallies that he plans.
10:17This was in Trichy, where he lodged his poll campaign.
10:21He not just rallied crowds, but also sharpened his political narrative,
10:24questioning the state's future under the current Stalin regime.
10:28Undoubtedly, his most scathing and biggest attacks were reserved for Chief Minister Stalin.
10:33But let's get your highlights of exactly what Vijay said.
10:36And importantly, in the last 48 hours, the kind of reactions that have poured in over his speech.
10:42Actor turned Neta Vijay, who is now looking at being Adjanan Nayeghan, kicked off his election campaign in Trichy,
10:57and sharpened his political attack, calling SIR and delimitation methods to weaken the states.
11:04He went one step further, alleging that one nation, one election is an attempt to give more constituencies to North India.
11:13Vijay also read out the list of election promises that DMK had made in 2021, but are unfulfilled so far.
11:39The comments have evoked mixed reactions.
11:42DMK leaders head back, saying Vijay is invoking Anna and Periyar to gain relevance.
11:48Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has countered criticism from actor-politician Vijay's DVK over unfulfilled poll promises,
11:58saying that out of 505 assurances made, 404 schemes have been fulfilled.
12:0437 are under perusal and 64 could not be taken forward due to fund crunch.
12:11In fact, he has also said that several North Indian YouTube channels have researched and are informing their state about his government's Dravidian model.
12:21So that's why they've been receiving the post which they've recorded in the 19th century.
12:30The school of Adia Istitā, the fact that people talk about this, the fact that people know it is a small percentage of vaccine,
12:31they tell you that the fact that the time they know it is a small percentage of vaccine is still the same thing in the same time.
12:36This is not necessary.
12:40If you cling, youноз itciap are on.
12:43The one who lively, who speaks only in actual religion,
12:47or as long as the inquca BB and the previousONE.
12:53Since the second time I say,
12:55there is anything you can say.
12:57다면, please find the same thing,
12:59someone will explain who it is.
13:03They've decided,
13:04Even superstar Rajnikanth weighed in on politics, praising Chief Minister M.K. Stalin as a star
13:13of Indian politics, who has challenged both the ruling party at the centre and the opposition.
13:34Education Minister Anbhil Mahesh slammed Vijay for rallying youngsters without addressing key national issues.
14:04Other DMK leaders dismissed the crowds Vijay is drawing, comparing it to the frenzy around Sassikala
14:25after her release from prison and even to actor Vadi Veil's campaign rallies in 2011.
14:34With crowds swelling at his rallies, Vijay is positioning himself as a Jannanayagan, a strong political leader.
15:03But DMK leaders insist that beyond the noise, TVK still has to prove his political weight.
15:11The ministers from DMK claim that Vijay's team does not have discipline.
15:16Earning 200 to 300 crores, Vijay is talking like that.
15:19But Anbhil Mahesh, the education minister, questioned that you claim to have a place in the children's hearts.
15:25Why aren't you fighting for the funds for those children?
15:29This way, DMK and Etas have hit back at Vijay.
15:33With Daniel, Prabhupada, for India today.
15:35And more reactions coming in from the Tamil Nadu chief minister, M.K. Stalin, who's responded now to Vijay's attack,
15:48where he said that the DMK hasn't fulfilled their poor promises.
15:53Now, M.K., in fact, Vijay had said 505 poor promises were made by the DMK.
15:59None of them were fulfilled.
15:59Stalin has now given a detailed report card of sorts.
16:04He says 364 of 505 poor promises we've delivered upon.
16:1040 poor promises are currently in the process of being fulfilled, saying the government is reviewing it.
16:16He says 37 schemes are awaiting the centre's note.
16:19So that's a blow-by-blow breakdown that, in fact, Chief Minister Stalin has given in response to Vijay,
16:25saying none of the poor promises have been fulfilled.
16:28That's a blow-by-blow breakdown that, in fact, there are a lot of people who have been fulfilled in the process of being fulfilled.
16:58So that's a blow-by-blow breakdown that, in fact, there are a lot of people who have been fulfilled in the process of being fulfilled in the process of being fulfilled.
17:16So that's the full report card there.
17:22There are 505 poor promises is the mention by Vijay, to which Chief Minister Stalin has given a detailed breakdown of those 505 promises.
17:31Pramod Madhav is joining us with more details on this.
17:34Pramod, the fact that you have responses coming in to every attack being made by Vijay directly from Chief Minister Stalin itself tells you perhaps how serious a threat Vijay is in the political arena in Tamil Nadu for the DMK and the AI-GMK.
17:48Well, Akshita, one thing is very certain because even though the Chief Minister gave us a break of all the, like, call promises made, how much have been fulfilled, what are under review, and what is the, like, reason behind certain promises that have not yet been fulfilled,
18:04he did not mention Vijay's name anywhere. In fact, he gave it as a reply to Edapadi K. Parniswamy, who actually is also, like, you know, towing the same lines.
18:12In fact, the first person to bring out all these issues is actually Anbumani Ramdas, who said it was Edapadi K. Parniswamy and now Vijay.
18:19But Vijay, talking on all this matter, completely resonated because he, Vijay, actually, also read a certain, like, call promises that were not fulfilled, especially about waiving of education loans and such, farmer loans and such.
18:30And what happened is that the Chief Minister categorically gave an explanation, but the Chief Minister is only calling them as new and old enemies.
18:39So, that way, the Chief Minister has given a response considering the elections coming near, but the Chief Minister has also said that he has also fulfilled promises that were not even given at early times,
18:48like morning meal for children and such, and that's a response from the Chief Minister, Akshita.
18:53Okay, so a response from the Chief Minister to Vijay's very first rally.
18:56So, you can see clearly that as far as issues are concerned and the narrative is concerned in Tamil Nadu, it is changing based on what Vijay is raising in his rallies.
19:06But thanks very much, Pramod, for joining us with all of those details.
19:10All right, from Tamil Nadu, let's talk about the big headline that's emerged from Karnataka.
19:15Over Chief Minister Sidramaya's comments on religious conversions and inequality in Hinduism.
19:21That's the big headline.
19:22What began as a statement of freedom of faith has now escalated into a full-blown political and ideological war in Karnataka.
19:30The BJP accusing Chief Minister Sidramaya of only going after Hinduism, saying,
19:34why don't you speak of inequalities in Christianity or Islam?
19:38Details in our next report.
19:40If there was equality, there would be no conversion.
19:48In Hinduism, if there was equality, nobody would convert.
19:54It's over these comments by Karnataka Chief Minister Sidramaya that a polarising religion fight has taken centre stage.
20:01Sidramaya, while speaking on the contentious issue of conversions, claimed that it was due to inequality in Hinduism.
20:09If there was a question, there would be no conversion.
20:20They would get mechanisms for conversion.
20:21In our society, the Hindu society,
20:24they would be a great result.
20:26And why do the conversion make it better?
20:29No, no.
20:30For example, they would be equal opportunities,
20:35to the opportunity.
20:37I ask, yes, this purpose will be the best.
20:39Sidharamaya then suggested that conversions have nothing to do with political parties,
20:45highlighting that it was people's choice to do so.
21:09But this comment by the Karnataka chief minister has left the BGP fuming,
21:14accusing Sidharamaya of only speaking of inequalities in Hinduism and not other religions.
21:21Is there any equality in other religions?
21:24I don't want to elaborate because it is going to hurt people.
21:29But no religion can bring equality.
21:36Religion is made on a hierarchical basis.
21:38All the religions, this government, unconstitutionally,
21:44first of all, they don't have a right to do census.
21:49But the Congress is brazing it out,
21:51with ministers like Priyank Kargay firing a Manusmriti counter
21:55to highlight that inequalities do exist in Hinduism.
21:58So what is the humanitarian clause?
22:08So what is the humanitarian clause?
22:10When Modi ji gives it to Africa, humanitarian aid,
22:16so that it becomes a masterstroke.
22:18When Sidharamaya gives it to any other state, then it's a problem.
22:21BJP is trying to protect the Varna system.
22:25BJP doesn't want anybody to question the hierarchical system where human beings have been made to believe that you are of lower Varna,
22:35you belong to this kind of a class and caste, you have to do only this particular work.
22:40It is a fact that the majority of the population in the Hindu religion does not get the opportunity
22:50that the upper communities, the cream of that religion gets.
22:57With the BJP renewing its anti-Hindu attack at Congress,
23:01it remains to be seen if Sidharamaya will backtrack or stand by his remarks.
