00:04Stop buying oil from Russia and the U.S. will impose major economic sanctions on Moscow.

00:14As you know, NATO's commitment to win has been far less than 100%

00:18and the purchase of Russian oil by some has been shocking.

00:22It greatly weakens your negotiating position and bargaining power over Russia.

00:30It's not the first time Trump has suggested ending Russian oil imports,

00:34but meeting those demands would mark a major shift for NATO.

00:37While the EU imposed a ban on maritime Russian oil imports and refined oil products like diesel,

00:43a number of countries continue to import Russian fossil fuels and liquefied natural gas.

00:48Crude oil is also still being imported by Hungary and Slovakia,

00:53something that's causing a rift among EU members.

00:55I think President Trump, when he says that Europe needs to stop buying Russian oil and gas,

01:02is right.

01:03And the finger points in two places.

01:05One is Hungary and the other one is Slovakia.

01:09And of course, we make sure that President Trump is aware of who is feeding the Russian war machine.

01:17So far, the EU plans for its member states to completely phase out Russian oil by 2028.

01:23But Trump's ultimatum was not just sent to the EU.

01:26His letter includes Turkey, which is the third largest purchaser of Russian oil after China and India.

01:32The US president has already punished India,

01:35doubling tariffs to 50% on its exports to the United States.
