PNM MP for San Fernando East Brian Manning says the mass URP firings which took place on Wednesday was political victimisation.
Manning on Thursday called a press conference at his constituency office to say the his party will fight for the rights of these vulnerable workers.
Those that spoke with our reporter Cindy Raghubar-Teekersingh she they don't know how they will pay their bills, and questioned why they should pay for those abusing the system.

01:17The woman attended a press conference called by their member of parliament, Brian Manning, on Thursday.
01:22Manning called the layoffs political victimization and assured workers that the PNM would fight on their behalf.
01:30We are here to say that we believe that San Fernando East is being victimized by the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government.
01:39We are going to refer these workers here along with others who decide to sign up to our PNM attorneys so that they can take this mark to the court.

01:53MP Manning says programs like CPEP and URP serve the most vulnerable and there should have been a better way to revise the program.
