London commuters are facing more strike disruption as both the Tube and the Docklands Light railway are hit by staff walkouts. The double whammy on what’s been dubbed “torrid Tuesday” comes after only a “minimal” number of Tube services ran on Monday, on the second of five days of strike action by members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT).

00:00No, I've not heard anything from TfL, which is a shame.
00:04They cut talks off last Wednesday and told us that was their final position.
00:08But plainly, TfL, the Mayor, London Underground,
00:11they need to get their heads together and talk to us and get it sorted out.
00:15Now, the chance to speak to the Mayor yesterday,
00:18he made clear yesterday afternoon, Monday afternoon,
00:20that he was not going to get involved this time.
00:22He said when he did get involved in January 2024,
00:25it was because there were exceptional circumstances in his phrase.
00:28Do you think that's the wrong position for Sadiq Tatiq?
00:33Well, it's a strange position, isn't it?
00:35Because he is the chair of the Transport for London board.
00:40So I would have thought that he, in that capacity,
00:43and as Mayor of London, would want to see this result.
00:47I've seen public comments from Sadiq urging us and London Underground
00:51to sit down and negotiate this.
00:53We've tried to do that. We need a bit of help from him.
