London underground workers are to begin a week of rolling strikes on Sunday, action which is set to bring the network to a standstill and cause massive disruption for travellers in the British capital.

Passengers are advised to complete their journeys by 6 p.m. on Sunday (1700 GMT) with almost no "Tube" trains expected to run between Monday and Thursday as staff stage a series of staggered walkouts.

00:00A London Underground station was closed on Monday as a week of rolling strikes began,
00:09causing major disruption for commuters across the city.
00:13The strikes which started on Sunday are expected to bring the tube network to a near standstill until Thursday.
00:19Passengers are advised to complete their journeys by 6 p.m. on Sunday,
00:23with almost no trains are expected to run between Monday and Thursday.
00:27The Docklands Light Railway, which connects Canary Wharf and the City of London,
00:32will also be shut on Tuesday and Thursday.
00:35The strike has left commuters struggling to get to work.
00:38Yeah, it's quite annoying and obviously they're quite persistent as well.
00:41I mean, I was hoping they'd be called off, which generally sort of happens,
00:44and the prospect of it being all week is a bit of a nightmare,
00:46so it's probably taken me twice as long to get in this morning.
00:48Well, it must be very disruptive for everybody else, I guess, people who do have a fixed schedule,
00:54but I guess more people will be working from home this week.
00:59To be honest, Mondays aren't too bad because it's pretty quiet in London on a Monday,
01:02but I'm not looking forward to the rest of the week, specifically Wednesday.
01:07I support what they're saying, but it is an absolute pain for us, to be honest.
01:11I get where they're coming from.
01:13The RMT union said the dispute centered on pay, fatigue management,
01:18shift patterns and a reduction in the working week.
01:21Transport for London said it has offered staff a 3.4% pay rise,
01:25but claimed the union is insisting on reduced working hours.
01:29While severe disruption is expected,
01:32Transport for London said some services will continue to run during the strikes.
