Blackpool defender reflects on the season so far

Olly Casey shares his thoughts on Blackpool's tough start to the season.

00:00It's been a tough start to the campaign, obviously. Long trips to Exeter, Plymouth, mid-week trip to Manfield.

00:04So has it been hard to keep yourself, sort of your chins up at points?

00:08I think so, yeah, at points. Especially after the Exeter game, obviously it was nowhere near good enough.

00:16But like you said, the game's gone thick and fast, so you haven't really got time to sulk and feel sorry for yourself.

00:22So yeah, with all the games coming quick, we've just got to pick ourselves up.

00:25If we're going to be glass-half-full, it's four points against Huddersfield and Bolton at home in the last two home games.

00:31So that's quite a good outcome against two teams that are going to be up there.

00:34Yeah, if you look at it like that, definitely.

00:37Obviously, we all know it's the other games where we've let ourselves down.

00:40But yeah, if you look at it like that, it's a positive.

00:44Obviously, at the disappointment of Stevenage, does that give you confidence that this can be a heartress like it has been in recent years?

00:49Yeah, definitely. I thought, obviously, it's a battle day.

00:52In fact, I thought the fans were brilliant. Especially when we were under pressure towards the end.

00:56They kept us going. And yeah, everyone knows it's a fortress.

00:58I know even after tough results, like I said, it's about when it clicks, not if.

01:02Obviously, is that feeling just mutually around as a changing room?

01:05Yeah, 100%. I think even when we've had our bad results, we all know at some point it is going to click

01:11and things will start going our way. And I think, as they take away their goal today, things are slowly turning.

01:17And yeah, if it's not going our way, it's us as the players. We've got to take responsibility and make something happen.

01:24I think everyone on an individual basis has struggled in certain games at certain times.

01:28Today, did you feel like back to Oli Casey from last year or everything that came to Vox you were just dealing with?

01:32Yeah, yeah. Obviously, it depends what type of game it is. It's a slow start, but yeah, fair to get to that.
