00:00You joined in the last couple of hours of the transfer window.
00:02Is deadline day as hectic for players as it feels for everyone else?
00:06Yeah, no. I think we got as much as you can get done the day before almost.
00:14So on deadline day itself, there was kind of a lot of waiting around and box ticking to happen.
00:21So it wasn't as stressful as I'd imagine that some other ones can be.
00:25But moving over from Germany with everything was a nightmare.
00:28So it was a bit better.
00:31It was nice to be waiting around on the last day and not have to worry about that.
00:36Yeah, how do you tackle that? Sort of moving your entire life back to England?
00:39Yeah, we had no real plan.
00:44Me and the missus just kind of threw everything together and got on a plane.
00:48As you can imagine in football, it can happen so fast.
00:52And it was kind of just like, OK, we can do it. Let's go.
00:55We just threw everything out of the suitcase and go. He didn't even have enough. He had to go and buy one.
01:01So, yeah.
01:03It's a long way to go back if you forget something.
01:04I know, yeah.
01:07Yeah, I still haven't sorted everything out on you two there.
01:11But hopefully in the coming days and I've got some teammates out there that can help me out.
01:17So, it'll be all right.
01:18Obviously for a young player, you should be a master of moving around by now.
01:21It feels like for someone who's only 23, the places you've been, you're straight away from home at an early age.
01:26So, yeah, how was that sort of experience around you as a person, as a player?
01:29Yeah, like you say, I've always moved since I was young when I went down to Palace.
01:34Or even when I was young going up to Dundee, it never felt like a big deal.
01:41To me, I've always kind of just got on with it.
01:43Not something that's really been homesick or anything.
01:45But I think just this time around, just the logistics of having to get everything on a flight
01:49was more of a problem than actually the feeling of being away.
01:53But I know that my family's delighted I'm back because it's only three and a half hours up the road.
01:59So, they'll be down to all the games.
02:01The fact you've played for a number of different clubs and a number of different situations.
02:04How has that sort of helped you in terms of you've learnt from different people
02:06and you've seen other games played in different ways?
02:08Yeah, I think throughout my career, I've been really fortunate in terms of coaches and teammates.
02:16And I think it's hard to quantify exactly what each person provides.
02:21And you just kind of stack up the experience from everyone and take little bits from different people.
02:28So, of course, Roy Hodgson, Bjerg at Palace and Fabian Houssel and then Alexander Blessing at St. Paulie.
02:35I think I just try and take a bit from each and just keep improving as a player.
02:41I think that's all you can do, really, when you get the opportunity to work with some incredible names.
02:48Yeah, you listed them off.
02:49They've all had different experiences, they're all different kind of managers.
02:52So, when you see these big names of both players and managers, it must be a pinch me moment when you think I'm working under these.
02:57Yeah, like I said, I've been fortunate for football names.
03:00Mark here is another one at Bradford and now Steve Bruce here.
03:03So, I'm kind of, yeah, I don't know.
03:08It's always been exciting to work with these people and to hear the stories of their own career.
03:13It's always just a great insight.
03:14So, yeah, I'm excited to see what I learned here and just add to that stockpile of experience.
03:23Yeah, obviously Steve Bruce is the latest name on the list.
03:25What has he been like in the first couple of weeks?
03:27Yeah, he's been great, to be fair.
03:29It's been really enjoyable being in the training over here and so much as we get into work and very serious.
03:36He likes to joke around, but I think he's just making sure we feel comfortable, the new boys anyway.
03:40But, yeah, he's been good.
03:44But you can see the demands and expectations he has, especially of us wide players.
03:48So, we know what's coming in terms of level of expectation and we hope, or not we hope, we know we can meet it and it should reflect on the pitch.
03:59Since coming in 12 months ago, he's always been desperate to focus on wide players and for whatever reason, he's not always had them available.
04:06But the competition now, how much are you relishing sort of battling with other players and that side?
04:10Yeah, I think it's the same old phrase.
04:14This competition is always a good thing.
04:16It's always, if you can see and working on the training pitch, that if everyone's performing, everyone's doing well, then you just have to try and get that edge to keep your place or to take someone's place.
04:30And if we're all doing that all the time, we should all be at the top of our game.
04:34But, yeah, you just have to wait and see and who plays and then what we have to do to get into the team.
04:41Obviously, so back in the EFL, you visit an old club in a few weeks' time.
04:45I was looking forward to going back to Bradford. I know you were popular there.
04:47Yeah, do you know what? I'm really looking forward to it.
04:49I was lucky that the fans took me there and I had a really special season for me there and it kind of kicked off everything that led me to go out to Germany.
05:01So I'm excited to go back. I think it will be a really enjoyable game and it's a great place to play football.
05:08And you said it's the right time to come here. It feels like everything's aligned.
05:11So it's about taking that feeling and taking it out onto the pitch and making sure obviously everything continues in that fashion where you are feeling good.
05:18Yeah, no, exactly. It's to try and, now that I'm here, take everything in my stride and one thing at a time.
05:24And yeah, try and perform and contribute as much as I can for Blackpool Football Club and I'm just excited to get it all started.
