Steve Bruce provides Blackpool injury update

Blackpool have a number of injuries to deal with ahead of the new season.

00:00So, Steve, another pre-season friendly, I suppose, minutes in the legs and that's the main thing.

00:06Same old nonsense, isn't it? Yeah, look, it's a big thing really is to avoid any more injuries.

00:15We've now got picked up four or five, unfortunately, CJ being the one from Saturday, really.

00:22You know, then we've had other ones with a couple of niggles we don't think is going to be.

00:26So we're really taken at the moment, taking the risk away, really.

00:30So, yeah, it was typical friendly, typical friendly and bored everybody to death.

00:37With CJ, do you have more of a timescale on how long it could be now?

00:41Well, we know now that it's going to be at least a month in rehabilitation

00:46and I think that's the way forward. It looks like that's the way forward.

00:50And we hope that he comes back stronger and better and he's OK.

00:54Obviously, if he needs an operation, then it's going to be probably three months, four months maybe.

00:59So we're hoping that with a rehab that he's going to be back maybe in a month's time.

01:05I know he's in the sling tonight. There's not much he can really do at the moment in terms of training.

01:09No, there's nothing he can do at all. He's just got to work on his shoulder muscles and all the rest of it.

01:14And all that rehabilitation. A bit like a little striker we had last year. He did it, didn't he?

01:20And we did the same thing. So, yeah, that's where we are up to with it.

01:24I mentioned a couple of niggles. Obviously, Niall Ennis and Jordan Brown both dropped out today along CJ. Are they...?

01:29Yeah. And they're going to train Thursday. I didn't want to risk them. They're both...

01:34One's got a calf and one's got a little bit of a thigh. They're both training Thursday, Friday, and they will play Saturday.

01:40So no major headaches on that account? No, no major headaches, no.

01:43And Tom Bloxham, is he still close? Probably a week, two weeks maybe.

01:48Maybe towards... We're looking towards maybe the start of the season really with another one calf injury.

01:53So, yeah. And for a team who wants to play with wide players, unfortunately, you know, we've lost CJ

02:00and we've lost Sonny and we've lost Rob and we've lost Bloxham.

02:03So it's took the momentum out of the team. But look, there's still a long way to go in the window

02:09and we'll be doing our utmost to obviously fill in the gaps, which are pretty noticeable at the minute

02:16because obviously we're a little bit short on numbers.
