00:00Seeing what the war has done to Cybertron's streets, it's time to send in a leader.
00:05Here's your look at the new 3-0 Transformers Bumblebee DLX Optimus Prime, Cybertron Mode.
00:10Transformers Bumblebee DLX
00:40DLX Optimus Prime's Cybertron Mode is fully articulated with approximately 53 points of articulation in a die-cast metal frame, which allows for a wide range of dynamic poses while maintaining stability.
00:52The armors, non-detachable, adopt the design of Cybertron Mode.
00:55The detailed sculpture and weathered paint application restore Optimus Prime as shown in the movie.
01:01DLX Optimus Prime's Cybertron Mode contains an impressive attention to detail.
01:05His eyes are equipped with LED light effects, making the figure come to life.
01:11Accessories include an ion blaster and five sets of interchangeable hands, a left command hand, fist relaxed hands, spread hands, and weapon holding hands.
01:21When paired with the DLX action stand, he is capable of a large variety of iconic poses.
01:27Well, I may not be able to tell you the whereabouts of B-127.
01:29I can tell you, though, if you're looking to locate Optimus Prime, he should be available right now through online sites that currently stock 3.0 products.
01:38Speaking of 3.0, though, I'd like to thank the folks over at 3.0 that did provide this sample of the Transformers Bumblebee DLX Optimus Prime in the Cybertron Mode.
01:46Now, in fact, actually, we've looked at this Optimus Prime, but it's been the Earth Mode Prime.
01:50I'll be bringing that figure in a second in so you guys can see the differences between the two.
01:54But just know, though, if you guys are interested and you'd like to get your hands on Optimus Prime, he sells right now online for around $238.99.
02:03With that being said, though, I'm going to bring in my tape measure.
02:05We're going to get things going underway and figure out just how tall the figure is going to stand.
02:09The answer to that question, if you count the tops of his ears, about 11.5 inches in height or roughly about 29 centimeters tall.
02:17Well, at first glance, if we slide over Cybertron Prime and we bring in Earth Prime, it would really be hard to kind of pinpoint exactly what has changed between the two figures.
02:27In fact, though, hopefully reviews like this will be able to kind of get down to the nitty gritty and show you guys how they vary from one another.
02:34If you look, though, at just first glance, it really only seems like there's just a color change between the two.
02:39Like Prime, for example, has more gunmetal gray on his forearms.
02:41This one has more gold.
02:42But there are also very more meticulous details that have changed between the two.
02:47And as said in this review, we're going to do our best to kind of cover off all those details.
02:51One detail I should make sure not to overlook is that the figure does come in clear with an instruction manual.
02:56This instruction manual will be really quite good to show you guys what exactly can be moved in Optimus Prime.
03:01And that it does require the installation of batteries.
03:04More particularly, though, if you get down to right around here at the top corner, you do need yourself two AG-13 batteries.
03:11As normally the case, 3.0 does not actually have the batteries installed in Prime.
03:16So you have to have to go out of your way to buy them yourself.
03:18I just recently bought an entire tray.
03:21I mean, like if I'm looking at how big the tray was, it was about it's about yay wide.
03:25It was about that long.
03:27And there had to have been at least, I think, probably like 30 batteries on there.
03:30You only need really two.
03:32You don't need all 30, but you can get them dirt cheap.
03:34You install the batteries right actually on the top of Prime's crown.
03:38And I'll show you guys again in this review.
03:40It shows you all the accessories, though, that he comes included with, like his Ion Blaster, the various hands.
03:45The one thing, though, and one of the reasons why I did also want to show you the booklet,
03:48is that the event exclusive was a hologram of Earth.
03:52You don't get that, actually, with the release of Prime unless you went to the event itself.
03:56So we won't be looking at that.
03:58But it is still a located spot on the clamshell case, the tray that holds Prime.
04:03There's a little section right there where the hologram of Earth would have been if you went to the event.
04:07Let's move that out of the way, though.
04:09One thing, though, that Prime does come included with, that Earth Prime also had,
04:12in fact, Bumblebee has had this as well, is a Transformers display stand.
04:163-0 Transformers Bumblebee printed nicely and clear on the top.
04:20There always seems to be, like, a space on the front where I feel they could have put in the figure's character's name.
04:26So, like, Optimus Prime here, for example.
04:28But if you're really looking at it from the top and you're not necessarily looking at it from the front,
04:31it does what it needs to do.
04:33And what it needs to do the most, it needs to be able to hold Prime's weight.
04:37The neck itself, as we've seen in the past, is one thing that you have to install.
04:41So this part snaps in.
04:42So if you actually look on the bottom of it, it basically snaps through and opens up.
04:46So it's quite securely in place.
04:48You have to do the same thing for the front as well.
04:51And this does move forward and back.
04:52Now, what you can do, too, is if you have it in a position that you like, you lock this down.
04:58And now it's not going to go anywhere.
05:00Doing the same thing on the top isn't so much the same steps.
05:04What you have to do first, though, is you have to pop this off.
05:06Inside, though, may be hard to see, but there's all these little ratcheted grooves.
05:10The grooves keep everything in place and prevent this from moving.
05:14So in order to get the position that you need for Prime, you have to pull it out first,
05:18move it to the desired spot that you need it, and then slot it back in place.
05:22Now, for this, I'm going to have it just more leveled like this,
05:25because this is going to plug on the back of Prime's body.
05:28Similar in the way, though, that the Earth Mode did this as well.
05:31On the back, there's a plate, so you're just going to remove this.
05:34One thing I've noticed, though, is while it snaps securely in place,
05:38any bit of movement, especially on the back of his spine, pops this off frequently.
05:43I guess that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
05:45If this was more securely attached, I think there would be more of a risk of that snapping the plastic.
05:49With this being something that freely falls off, it at least ensures that it's not going to break the plastic.
05:55So we're just going to pop that off, and essentially all you really then do,
05:59you want to kind of make sure first the neck is a little higher up.
06:02This, by the way, does also extend, too, so you can get to the height that you need.
06:06And it also, like everything else, locks in place.
06:08The only way to release the lock is to drop this down.
06:11You kind of have to push the button on the back,
06:13and that releases the locking mechanism so you can bring the neck down.
06:16So we're going to extend it just a little bit here, and we're going to attach on to the back of Prime's body.
06:21Now, again, I probably don't have this in the position that I really need to have it,
06:25but it does show you, though, it holds successfully the weight of Prime, a heavy body and all.
06:30And it does actually do a job of good holding it in place.
06:33If you ever want to have, for example, as we're going to be seeing in a second with this Ion Blaster,
06:37if you want to have Prime in his iconic pose of leaping in the air, shooting down the Decepticons,
06:42you can easily pull that off with the stand that they include.
06:45Stands aside, let's look at the other accessories that come and include with Optimus Prime.
06:49Just as iconic, though, is the look of Prime.
06:51He does come and include, of course, with his classic Ion Blaster.
06:54The Blaster, while I don't have the one right now for Earth Prime, I kind of stored everything away in totes.
06:59The Blaster, it looks like it's very similar in design to the one that we got with the Earth Mode.
07:04It does also have a removable clip, so you can take that off.
07:06It's weird, though, to kind of look at someone's Cybertronian and expect to see ammunition inside the clip.
07:12But it does have something that can be removed, and it's a nicely overall detailed piece.
07:17It looks like they may have even started it.
07:19If you look at kind of the color inside, it looks like it's a little bit darker.
07:22It would stand then to reason that they probably have molded this in a little bit darker of a color
07:26and then brushed nicely a silver finish over top of it.
07:30Of course, he does have the needed hands to hold this.
07:32Those hands, in fact, are one of many.
07:34The figure has, first of all, in the ends of his forearms, a pair of closed fists.
07:38You know, it's not really going to be doing really much of anything.
07:41May perhaps entertain the idea that the figure does also come include with a pair of relaxed hands.
07:45The hands themselves, I mean, we have mentioned this, I'm sure, several times on this channel
07:49when we've looked at three zero pieces, but the attention to detail on just the hands alone.
07:54Nice looking hands.
07:55The figure does also have, speaking of his Ion Blaster, trigger firing hands.
07:59I did, though, notice getting this hand out of the packaging, that the thumb has come loose.
08:06Now, it looks like the way that they've designed the thumb, not that it was supposed to come loose like this,
08:10but it does look like, though, the thumb and the hands were two separate pieces,
08:13so that's something I could easily fix.
08:16Again, you get yourself two trigger firing finger hands.
08:20You get as well a couple of gestured hands.
08:22Nothing goes better than Prime with a couple of gestures, and those look good as well.
08:26The finish of the blue looks really nice on these.
08:29And then finally, the figure does also have a command hand, a pointing hand,
08:32again, instructing the Autobots either to flee the city,
08:36or again, to stand their ground and battle the Decepticons.
08:40Let's move those to the side.
08:41Actually, one thing I did want to mention, though, is removing and changing the hands
08:44can be a little bit difficult here for Prime.
08:47Not so much the fact that they're stubborn, but more the fact that when you're actually wanting to change the hand,
08:52so I'm going to just grab a hand here,
08:54we're going to wiggle it off the post.
08:56Taking the hand off is actually not that hard.
08:58The problem that goes with that, though, is that these ball joints actually sit on moving posts.
09:04So you can already imagine the heartache that you're going to be dealing with
09:07when it comes to swapping out the hands,
09:08because when you go to put a new hand in,
09:11this post is going to move back and forth on you.
09:14Initially, I was kind of looking at this and thinking,
09:17would it have made more sense if this was just a staction post?
09:20In other words, it wouldn't be able to move at all.
09:22But again, I thought to myself,
09:24okay, well, if I get the hand actually on the post,
09:26I will probably want to have some mobility.
09:29So again, that's one thing.
09:30You kind of have to take the good with the bad.
09:32The bad that is, yes, the post does move around on you.
09:36The good, at least, is the fact that the hands will have some flexibility,
09:39so you can move them around.
09:40It doesn't make things, though, any bit easier when it comes to changing the hands,
09:43just because, again, when you kind of put the hand on there,
09:46you have to push and you have to twist,
09:48and you have to almost do it in that order.
09:50I'm hoping, though, that the hands are going to stay in place.
09:53But that's basically all that's really required when it comes to changing hands.
09:56I guess while we're also speaking on the topic of changing things,
09:59the change and actually add those batteries, those AG-13s,
10:02require first to remove Optimus Prime's head.
10:05Now, that just pops off from the ball joint,
10:07so I haven't broken it at all.
10:08Should we go, guys, though, what Optimus Prime's head looks like?
10:12Let's spin this around.
10:13This is certainly a lot easier to pull off
10:16when you have Prime's head removed and decapitated from the rest of his body.
10:19Just the attention to detail on this piece.
10:23Now, while Prime, unfortunately, is missing the rest of his body,
10:26we can bring in, then, the other body of Optimus Prime.
10:29Now, this is the Earth Mode Prime.
10:30We're going to also pop the head off him.
10:33I'm going to just get the figures here to stand for a second
10:34while you guys are looking at those bodies.
10:36Perhaps look at the heads instead.
10:39So, the one we have to the left is the Cybertron Optimus Prime,
10:42the one that we have, then, to the right is the Earth Mode Prime.
10:46Both of these, by the way, do light up.
10:48You just press the crest on the front.
10:51Press the little crest on the front.
10:53One thing that actually surprised me
10:54was the fact that the illumination of the eyes
10:56were completely different colors.
10:58This Prime kind of goes with more of a teal color
11:01or an aqua blue,
11:02whereas this one actually is a little bit more of a glowing,
11:05almost baby blue.
11:06So, there is a little bit of differences between the two.
11:09Though, by the way, to change the batteries,
11:10what you have to do first, though,
11:12is you have to take this piece off.
11:14There's a piece that goes on the back of his head.
11:17You have to kind of pry this off first.
11:19This is one piece, by the way,
11:21you want to make sure that you don't lose.
11:23You remove this.
11:24I'm even having now a hard time to take this off.
11:27Basically, there's a piece right here.
11:28Oh, actually, you know what?
11:29The piece just...
11:30Oh, I see.
11:31I took the piece already off
11:32prior to preparing the review.
11:36There's a piece that goes right here.
11:37Do I have it on the other Optimus Prime?
11:39I do.
11:39See, there's this piece that covers over the screw.
11:42Well, I've already taken the liberty of removing that
11:43because I knew I wanted to talk about it.
11:45Once you remove it,
11:46there's a screw right there.
11:48You unscrew that,
11:49and then you basically take the entire top canopy off,
11:53and then located inside
11:54would be the storage space
11:55to house the two AG-13 batteries.
11:59They certainly light the eyes quite brightly.
12:03And again, simple to turn on and off.
12:04You're basically just going to press that button right there.
12:06One last time.
12:08One last time to show you guys
12:09the differences between the heads.
12:10I want to make sure I'm not going to drain the batteries
12:11on the Earth Mode Prime.
12:14The mouth plates are similar.
12:16You can see that they're a little bit more
12:18elaborately detailed, though,
12:20on this Prime than it is on this one here.
12:22This one also, I can't help but notice,
12:24has a little more of a richer navy blue,
12:27where this seems to be a little bit more
12:29of a lighter or more tarnished blue.
12:30There's some additional silver effects
12:33that got painted on the sides for his ears.
12:35The bottoms don't think,
12:36I don't think there's anything
12:37really different about them.
12:39You probably could,
12:40by the size of these being the same ball joints,
12:42swap the heads around.
12:44But again, like,
12:44I can't imagine why you would want
12:45to change the heads
12:46if clearly this is Earth Prime,
12:47and this is clearly Cybertron Prime.
12:50So let's go ahead and get the head back in place.
12:52All that it really is, though,
12:53is that you've got the ball joint,
12:54you've got the socket.
12:55Match the two shapes together,
12:57and plug it in place.
12:59Okay.
13:00So to compare the two Primes,
13:02let's go ahead and get
13:03the other Prime head on there,
13:04because it can't seem really complete
13:06without Prime having a head.
13:07And if you really start to kind of
13:09look at the details,
13:09really, between the two,
13:10you'll start to see them
13:11the closer you kind of get.
13:13So like Prime, for example,
13:14on his front windshield
13:15has actually windshield wipers.
13:17That would be on the Earth Mode Prime.
13:20This Prime apparently doesn't have to worry
13:21about cleaning windshields on Cybertron,
13:24so he doesn't actually have windshield wipers.
13:26You can see that shoulders are changed
13:28between the two.
13:29Visible smoke stacks
13:30don't have a covering over it,
13:32whereas the Cybertron Mode does.
13:34The middle body is one thing
13:36that doesn't seem like it changes
13:37all that much between the two figures,
13:39nor when you're really looking
13:41at the legs themselves.
13:42The legs look like they're very similar.
13:44The only thing I could really spot
13:45that there's a big difference
13:46between the two
13:47is that the Cybertron Mode
13:49does have different hubcaps
13:50covering over the tires,
13:52where the Earth Mode
13:53doesn't have that.
13:54Spin the bodies around, though,
13:56and the Autobot logos, by the way,
13:58are in the exact same spots.
13:59Spin this on the back
14:00of this Earth Mode Prime.
14:02Spin it to the back
14:03of the Cybertron Prime.
14:05So it makes me think, though,
14:06that obviously 3-0
14:07may have borrowed
14:08as much of the mold
14:09as they could
14:10from one figure to the other.
14:11Very similar looking backs.
14:13This one just happens
14:13to have a little bit more
14:14gold accents painted in,
14:16where this one really did rely
14:17on just the silver.
14:19The arms, again,
14:19are very similar.
14:20The forearms, though,
14:21are very different.
14:23This Prime from Cybertron
14:24seems to store, perhaps,
14:26a Cybertronian axe or a blade.
14:29This Prime doesn't actually have that.
14:30So there are, again,
14:31few differences between the two.
14:32I think if you were
14:33to really weigh the two,
14:34one doesn't really feel
14:35any bit more heavier
14:37than the other.
14:38The color is also one thing, too,
14:39I want to also bring
14:40to your attention.
14:41If you look at the two Primes,
14:42overlooking, obviously,
14:44the gold and the silver swaps,
14:45but this one also does seem
14:47to have a more darker gray.
14:49This one has a brighter red.
14:50I should say a darker red,
14:52a brighter red.
14:53I almost kind of really feel
14:54it should be swapped
14:54the other way around,
14:55that now Prime being on Earth
14:57should have more
14:58than a brighter red,
14:59and the one on Cybertron
15:00should have more
15:01a darker, dingier red.
15:03Now, that may have more
15:03to do with just the way
15:04they designed Prime
15:05for the film,
15:06but again, that's really
15:07the differences
15:08between the two Primes.
15:09So if we set our sights now
15:11just to look at Prime,
15:12Prime is comprised, though,
15:13of both plastic and die-cast.
15:15You sort of have
15:16the rule of thumb
15:17that if anything is cool
15:18to the touch,
15:18you know right away
15:19is die-cast.
15:20So like his legs,
15:21for example,
15:22his feet down below,
15:23and even especially, though,
15:24the cases of like his torso
15:26feel, though,
15:27like they're made of die-cast.
15:28Plastic bits are, of course,
15:29covered over Prime's main frame,
15:31and the figure does have
15:3253 points of articulation,
15:34which I'll do my best
15:35to try to cover off
15:36all of those,
15:37all of those.
15:38Though, again,
15:39we've now got Prime
15:39back on the head,
15:40back, well,
15:41his head, though,
15:42on the rest of his body.
15:43And I'll go through, though,
15:44and show you guys
15:44all the rest of the details.
15:46Now, again,
15:46with the Cybertron Mode Prime,
15:48the smokestacks are covered
15:49over by these plates.
15:51So nice additional weathering
15:52and scratching
15:53has been added also
15:54to the surface.
15:55These are plastic,
15:56after all.
15:57Of course,
15:57you've got the Autobot logos
15:58that are featured
15:59on the side.
15:59Some nice uses
16:00of both the dark
16:01gunmetal gray,
16:02and, of course,
16:02this pristine red.
16:03Not really so much pristine,
16:05as you can certainly see.
16:06They've added, again,
16:07a war-torn paint chip
16:08all across the front visors
16:10that cover over
16:11the windshields.
16:12And, again,
16:12you've got some nice weathering
16:13that they've also added
16:14to the torso as well.
16:16Skirting is very much
16:17similar to the Earth Mode Prime
16:18in the sense that you can
16:19actually lift these up.
16:21One thing you really want
16:22to be careful, though,
16:22is when lifting these skirts,
16:24they actually sit
16:25on ball joints.
16:26These adjacent ball joints
16:27cause frequently
16:29these to fall off,
16:30but you basically
16:30just clip them back in place.
16:32These skirtings
16:33also move out as well
16:34for the freedom
16:35of having the legs
16:35being able to split.
16:37Again, we'll kind of
16:37cover off all those details
16:38in a second.
16:39Again, tires on the side.
16:41These tires don't
16:41necessarily move.
16:42They're more show
16:43than they are tell.
16:44And, of course,
16:45you've got the really
16:45large clunky feet
16:47on the bottom
16:47of the prime.
16:48Now, these, again,
16:49are heavy.
16:50They're die-cast.
16:50They're cool to the touch.
16:52Again, we just spin this
16:53from the side
16:53and spin it to the back.
16:55Again, a lot of full detail
16:56gets added to this figure.
16:58Nothing at all
16:59you can look at
16:59these Transformers
17:00from 3.0
17:01and think to yourself,
17:02man, they missed this step
17:03of painting
17:03the following piece.
17:05Everything looks
17:06just as finished
17:06on the back
17:07as it does on the front.
17:09I mean, it actually
17:09kind of looks a little bit
17:10like a robot's face
17:10right there with the eyes.
17:12But, again,
17:12that's very similar
17:13to the Earth Mode Prime.
17:15Again, really nice,
17:16big, large, chunky legs.
17:17Lots of articulation
17:18that, again,
17:18we'll kind of cover off
17:19here in a second.
17:20I do actually like, too,
17:22that if you look at
17:23even like the insides
17:24of his thighs,
17:24that they've gone in there
17:25and painted teal wires,
17:27pulleys, and levers,
17:28and all the things
17:29that allow the robot
17:30to functionally move his legs.
17:31Speaking of moving, though,
17:33we'll run through
17:33the articulation here
17:34for Optimus Prime.
17:35So there is a fair bit
17:36to cover.
17:3753 points.
17:38I'm hoping, though,
17:39I'm not going to miss
17:39any of them.
17:40Prime's head, first of all,
17:41is going to be on a ball joint.
17:42We've established that.
17:44It allows, obviously,
17:45for the head
17:45to do a full rotation.
17:47In addition to that, though,
17:48you can actually get in there
17:49and move Prime's neck around
17:51as there's some
17:52additional posability there.
17:54It's kind of hard
17:55to get access
17:55to the neck
17:56because as you're
17:57moving the neck,
17:57most of all,
17:58you're generally
17:59just moving the head around.
18:00But there's a bit
18:01of neck posability
18:02in there, too.
18:03Now, these arms,
18:04these arms allow
18:05for full rotation.
18:06So you just take those
18:07and rotate them
18:08all the way around.
18:09They're clunky.
18:10They're large.
18:11Just turn them
18:12all the way around.
18:13You can also,
18:14as well,
18:14hinge them out.
18:15Now, one thing
18:16that's kind of clever
18:16the way that they've
18:17designed this
18:18is that the top
18:19smokestack shoulders
18:20do actually have
18:21their own hinge.
18:22So when you can move
18:23those out like that,
18:24it adds for a little bit
18:25more mobility
18:26to the arms.
18:27In addition to that,
18:28though,
18:28you can take the arms
18:29and you can also
18:30move them forward.
18:32Maybe it might be easier,
18:33in fact,
18:33to show you guys
18:34from the back.
18:35You can see that
18:36he's got these larger,
18:38not necessarily tubes,
18:39but essentially
18:40like a pulley system.
18:41There's some
18:42additional posability.
18:43My guess is there's
18:43probably a hinge
18:44in the top
18:45and a bottom
18:45that allows these
18:46to hinge forward
18:47and back.
18:47So they're probably
18:48attached right here
18:48and right here.
18:49But it allows
18:50for at least mobility
18:51where he can bring
18:52the shoulders forward.
18:53Prime, additionally to that,
18:54does have a swivel
18:55in his bicep.
18:57And he does also have,
18:58if we get in there,
19:00a double hinge
19:00on the elbow.
19:01So sort of the way
19:02it works, though,
19:03is it bends here
19:04and then when you get
19:06to that section,
19:07you bend it again
19:07and you start to notice,
19:09though,
19:09that the bicep
19:10retreats itself
19:11and sinks inside
19:12the rest of the bicep.
19:14See that?
19:15Very clever
19:16the way they designed this.
19:17I think, in fact,
19:18actually the Earth Mode
19:19Prime had something
19:19similar too.
19:21The forearms
19:22do swivel back and forth.
19:23You can rotate them there.
19:24The hands are about
19:25the only thing
19:26that's the most limited
19:26while, again,
19:27we critique the fact
19:29that those posts
19:30move back and forth
19:31too frequently.
19:32At least it allows
19:33the hands to do this.
19:34Rotating the hands
19:35is a little bit
19:36more stubborn
19:36just because, again,
19:37you've got so much
19:38forearm space
19:39taking up the real estate
19:40space for everything
19:41else around it.
19:43The top of the torso
19:44does move forward
19:45and back.
19:46In fact, actually,
19:47if you look at it
19:48from the side,
19:48you can take
19:49Prime's entire torso
19:50and crunch it forward.
19:52I mean, that's
19:53a great deal
19:54of posability
19:55considering this guy's
19:56really essentially
19:57a robot.
19:58Earth Mode Prime
19:58also had that as well.
20:00And also,
20:00by moving this
20:01forward like this,
20:02it gives you a chance
20:03to see some details
20:04and shows you
20:05that just as much work
20:06paints even like
20:08the area that you
20:08would have normally
20:09been hiding
20:10with the top of the torso
20:11being down like that.
20:13Like I said,
20:14the torso moves
20:14forward and back.
20:16You can also rock
20:17these back and forth
20:17there as well.
20:19And Prime does also
20:19have a swivel.
20:20So, between like
20:22the crunch,
20:23the rock back and forth
20:24and again,
20:25you can rotate it
20:26quite a lot
20:27just going on
20:27in Prime's torso.
20:29The lower waist
20:30does seem to have
20:31a little bit of a swivel.
20:32You can also crunch
20:33that forward as well.
20:34So, not only does
20:35Prime Crunch here
20:36but he also crunches
20:37down here as well.
20:39As for his legs,
20:40now again,
20:41we're going to kind of
20:41move these skirtings
20:42out of the way
20:42just so that they
20:43don't get clipped
20:44in the process.
20:45So, bring these up,
20:46bring these up.
20:47Now, you can bring
20:48Prime's legs
20:49and do
20:49a full split.
20:51How many companies
20:52can actually do that
20:53with a robot toy?
20:55These legs also,
20:56which is kind of
20:57quite clever,
20:58if you look at
20:59the inside of them,
21:00there's actually
21:00like a little lever
21:01system that swings
21:03these forward.
21:04I don't know if you
21:04can see that or not,
21:05but this part right here,
21:07right at the top
21:08of the thigh,
21:09it seems like it's
21:09also ratcheted too.
21:11So, there's a good
21:11bit of strength
21:12behind them.
21:13The legs can move
21:13forward providing,
21:14again, you've got
21:15the skirts out of the way.
21:16You can also move
21:17them back.
21:17Also, the same rule
21:18applies.
21:19There is no swivel
21:21or anything at the
21:21top of the thigh.
21:22I don't think it
21:22necessarily needs it
21:23either.
21:24Then for the legs,
21:25you've got a single
21:26hinge, then you've
21:27got a double hinge,
21:28and the hinge works
21:29here, and the hinge
21:29works here.
21:30So, you can get a
21:31full back bend when it
21:33comes to the knee
21:33and the leg.
21:34Prime's leg also
21:35does have a little
21:37bit of a swivel,
21:37not by much though.
21:38His feet though,
21:39do move forward and
21:40back, up and down.
21:42The figure does also
21:43have toe articulation
21:44too.
21:44And again, the fact
21:45that they incorporate
21:46so much articulation,
21:47which again, like if
21:48you were to kind of
21:49count off all the
21:50points of posability,
21:51I think in fact,
21:52actually Cybertron
21:53Mode Optimus Prime,
21:54which again, I'll just
21:55kind of move them
21:55over here, has, I
21:58would imagine, the
21:58exact same posability
21:59as Earth Mode
22:01Optimus Prime.
22:02Again, if you guys
22:03want to see the full
22:03review of Earth Mode
22:04Optimus Prime, I've
22:05already done that.
22:06I've already covered
22:06that on here on this
22:07channel.
22:08But again, it's just,
22:09it's a matter of
22:09picking your preference.
22:10Some would prefer
22:11really just to stick
22:12with the Earth Mode
22:12Optimus Prime.
22:13If you're a big fan
22:14certainly of
22:15Transformers Bumblebee,
22:16then you might want
22:17both incarnations of
22:18Optimus Prime, the
22:19way he looks on
22:20planet Cybertron, the
22:21way he looks on
22:22planet Earth.
22:23But hopefully, though,
22:24you guys can see
22:24there's a fair bit of
22:25retooling that had to
22:27be required.
22:28Torso pieces, I think
22:29like the abdomen
22:30areas are about the
22:31same between the two.
22:32Forearms mostly have
22:33remained the same.
22:34There had been a
22:35little bit of
22:35additional tooling that
22:36was required in the
22:37added extra pieces.
22:38The shoulder pads
22:39were changed.
22:39The heads were
22:40changed.
22:41Legs stay about the
22:42same.
22:43And again, we swapped
22:43out for brand new
22:44tires.
22:45Optimus Prime, though,
22:46is a glorious looking
22:47figure.
22:48Generally, though, again,
22:49the only real problem
22:52when it comes to
22:52DLX figures is also
22:53the size that they
22:54occupy, the amount of
22:55space required on your
22:56shelf.
22:57If you have, though,
22:58the space and you
22:59love the Transformers
23:00franchise, especially
23:01what we saw in
23:02Transformers Bumblebee,
23:03iconically, though, one
23:04of the best things
23:05about Transformers
23:06Bumblebee isn't so
23:07much the stuff that
23:07took place on Earth,
23:08but the few minutes
23:10that we saw, the
23:10glimmer, the hope
23:12that we had of
23:13Transformers having
23:13better films moving
23:14forward was all kind
23:15of taking place at
23:16the beginning of the
23:17movie, when all the
23:18war and battle took
23:19place on Cybertron.
23:20From there, we sort
23:21of got the idea of
23:22what they had planned
23:23for the rest of
23:24Transformers film, and
23:25even though we really
23:25haven't gone back to
23:27Cybertron in the way
23:27that I think most fans
23:28would have wanted, we
23:29actually got ourselves
23:31some really classic
23:32looking design
23:32characters.
23:33We got Starscreams,
23:34we got Soundwaves,
23:35we got, I mean, we
23:36even got Shockwave,
23:37Shockwave, and it's
23:38classic, eerie sound
23:40that he had from the
23:4080s cartoon.
23:42Finally having that
23:42represented here in
23:43Toys, I hope though
23:44that we're also going
23:45to be getting some
23:46more Cybertron mode
23:47figures from 3-0, not
23:49just stopping at
23:49Optimus Prime, but
23:50moving even forward,
23:52getting some of the
23:53classic look to the
23:54characters that we saw
23:54at the very beginning
23:55of the film.
23:57At least the good
23:58news though for fans
23:59of the franchise is
24:00that you don't have
24:01to send a distress
24:02call to space to get
24:03your hands on
24:03Optimus Prime.
24:05In fact, the
24:05Transformers Bumblebee
24:06DLX scale collectible
24:08series of Optimus Prime
24:09in his Cybertron edition
24:11is available right now
24:12through online sites
24:13where you normally
24:14pick up your 3-0 pieces.
24:16Expect to pay a little
24:17less than $240,
24:19considering though again
24:20that he's made of a
24:21die-cast frame and
24:22having plastic parts
24:23over top of him, and
24:24with the amount of
24:24posability that this
24:25guy possesses.
24:27I mean, when you start
24:27to think that this guy
24:28not only has the LED
24:30light-up eyes, but then
24:3153 points of articulation
24:32on top of that, I still
24:34can't be, I'm still
24:35surprised actually that
24:363-0 sells the pieces
24:37the way that they
24:38do, for the prices
24:39that they do.
24:40Optimus Prime, from
24:41the standpoint, at
24:42least of size, he's
24:43the exact same size
24:44really as Earth Mode
24:45Optimus Prime, as he
24:46really should.
24:46You can see though that
24:47a lot of the same
24:48mold got borrowed
24:49over from one figure
24:50to the other, mainly
24:51though, mostly his
24:52torso, his legs, with
24:54obviously some retooling
24:55that had to be
24:56extensively done to
24:57his shoulders, his
24:58forearms, obviously
24:59he's got a brand new
25:00head sculpt as well, and
25:01he's sporting himself
25:02a brand new set of
25:03tires.
25:03The Ion Blaster that
25:05he has, I've just
25:05removed the click for
25:06right now.
25:07The clip is something
25:08obviously that if you
25:09want to just detach and
25:10leave off, I kind of
25:11actually like him
25:11without the clip
25:12because it makes it
25:13look more futuristic.
25:15If you'd like to
25:15have the clip, you can
25:16easily just leave it
25:17on him.
25:18I've got him also
25:19making use of the
25:20display stand just to
25:21show you guys that you
25:21can get him in that
25:22iconic leaping firing
25:24pose, but also show
25:25you as well that those
25:26display stands that
25:273-0 provide for their
25:29figures are there for a
25:30reason, they can hold
25:31the weight of the
25:32figures they're attached
25:32to.
25:33A big thank you again
25:34to the folks over at
25:353-0 that did provide
25:36the sample of the
25:36Transformers Bumblebee
25:37DLX Cybertron Optimus
25:40Prime.
25:41Between the two figures
25:42though that we've
25:42looked at, which look of
25:43Optimus Prime do you
25:44prefer more?
25:45The Cybertronian mode or
25:47do you like the Earth
25:48mode Prime just a little
25:49bit more?
25:50If, by the way, you guys
25:51did also enjoy this video,
25:52you can do it a
25:52solid throw at a
25:53like.
25:53You guys want to stick
25:54around for more so?
25:55I hope so.
25:56I hope so.
25:57We're going to have some
25:57more videos, of course,
25:58coming your way for the
25:59rest of this week.
25:59In the meantime, if you
26:00guys need your fix for
26:01more 3-0, popping up at
26:02the very end of this
26:03video will be a
26:04playlist of everything
26:05I've looked for the
26:06company, or looked at for
26:07the company, with many
26:08more to follow.
26:09As always, guys, thanks
26:10for watching.
26:11See you guys next time.
