00:00I know that especially in the world of sports radio,
00:03like how everybody, even our callers, how people try to speak.
00:08They try to speak in these big, definitive, opinionated sort of ways.
00:14And the bottom line is we don't know crap about this.

00:18I know that some of you now believe Christian is out for the year,
00:22and then some of us silly optimists think,
00:24you know, week two, give somebody nine days.
00:28But we don't know.
00:31They're not going to tell us.
00:32There's only one thing that I got out of that conversation,
00:36and I will admit freely I don't know this either.
00:39But there's one thing that really sits in my gut that I feel, I feel,
00:45I can't tell you I'm right, but I feel, I feel it with all my heart,
00:50which is that he ain't playing on Sunday.

00:55And that's why I said which Sunday,
00:57because what I feel in my gut is it's more than just this Sunday.
01:01And Kyle sounded really down and dismissive and angry.

01:07and we're going to play it and play it and play it,
01:09and we can all pick through it like a Zapruder film.
01:12But what I heard Kyle say,
01:14and his words were not the same as his emotion.
01:17His emotion was frustration and not really anger,
01:21but just frustration at the fact that he has to answer these questions,
01:25and here we are two days away from the opener,
01:28and God, Christian looked so good in camp until two days ago,
01:33and now he's out maybe?
01:34This sucks.

05:45won't play Sunday, if that is, in fact, accurate.

06:22And all of a sudden, oh, my, hour and a half before, he's out, and now he's on IR or he's on PUP for four weeks or whatever he went on.
06:30And so you could be in that same spot where, okay, today he went in there and he was limited and he couldn't go through it.
06:36And so I would imagine they're going to do imaging.
06:38And if the imaging shows that there's something in there, I mean, he might be put out for four weeks again.
06:45Wouldn't you think they already did it?
06:47They might have, but that doesn't mean that.
06:49Like if Christian McCaffrey walks off.
06:50But that doesn't mean that they've made the decision or it doesn't mean that they're going to announce it.

07:26But then he just warmed up and he did not join his teammates the first string for actual practice.
07:32Now, Kyle says did not practice.
07:35I have to imagine there was imaging done yesterday.
07:37And following that imaging, he dressed.
07:40He got dressed and went out there.
07:42Is that cause for some sort of optimism that the imaging did not show something awful?
07:49Also, if they did do imaging yesterday, we know that the national reporters have lines to this info that not everybody does.

08:00I will say this cautiously.
08:02I do not get the sense, based on the conversations I've had so far, that there are alarm bells going off about Christian McCaffrey at this point.
08:10If there is any player you are going to take precautions with, if he feels something in practice, it's the guy who's arguably your best player and missed most of last season because of a variety of different ailments.
08:23We also know that calf injuries can be tricky.
08:25At times, they are precursors to Achilles injuries.
08:29McCaffrey had issues with both his Achilles last year.
08:31Again, I do not get the sense that this is DEFCON 1 at this point, but the 49ers will be back out on the field this afternoon.
08:39Yep, and Kyle will speak, but Kyle didn't really speak.
08:42And he was out on the field, or they were out on the field, and he was not.
08:47And we don't know for sure if they imaged him yesterday or today.
08:50No, we don't.
08:50We have no idea of what the procedure will be.
08:53The fact that he went out today and tried again or didn't try again, he couldn't practice today, tells me that maybe now you look at it a little bit differently.
09:02And, yeah, Tom said it's not DEFCON 1 yet, but let's see what happens after Sunday if he doesn't play and if they go out there and they lose to Seattle where we are.

09:14I mean, if you want to grab some optimism from the fact that he went out there and at least, you know, again, like he did some things on the side.

09:24He's jumping around.

09:26He was warming up.
09:28So it's not like he's, his leg's not in a cast.
09:31You know, but, I mean, everybody's concern is obviously warranted as well.
