00:05:31of was looking in his direction he is looking in his direction look he gives him a head nod he gives him
00:05:36cocky nod when he comes up though i think it was self-defense uh but we had a eagles player
00:05:43get carded off and jalen carter get kicked out before we even take an offensive snap and then you
00:05:51could see jalen carter not being in the game was shoot the the dallas offense oh yeah went up and down
00:05:57the field so did the eagles offense in the first half and i hated to say this you weren't here eddie last
00:06:02night but i got to give credit to to matt eberfloos the adjustments the cowboys made in the second
00:06:08half actually kept them in that game where their defense looked they didn't touch jalen hurts in the
00:06:12first half second half they were able to bow up a little and uh i the eagles are a better team than
00:06:17the cowboys but it was a good game i the overnight hitting was just insane jalen carter is not going to
00:06:23get suspended but he's away in arrowhead next week so he's going to come back to a lot of boos
00:06:29let's see how he handles the booze uh let's see if he chugs along because i think that he has the
00:06:35keys to the defense yep and if he's go he's going to go pedal the metal he's going to go fast i think

00:17:34got it and then you know you get your spot and then where people pull up and then we start
00:17:39absolutely tailgating before they let you in the lot what so how do you do that how does that will you
00:17:46just tell you open up your cooler and you start drinking and we do eagle shots yeah yeah i mean
00:17:52that that makes nobody so but listen by the time they let me in so they let you in at six in the
00:17:57morning for a 1 p.m game so by the time i get in there i'm i'm half shot but you know you if you're
00:18:07a professional tailgater you know how to drink right yeah like i'm not a rookie i've been doing this
00:18:12forever like you you drink and then you eat and the food sobers you up and then about 12 o'clock 12 15
00:18:21we march into the lynch yeah we do has there ever been an era in your life where you have napped
00:18:26after a tailgate never no no no not match i will not know i'll sleep when i'm dead no

00:20:00and interviews and woke up it woke up at 6 45 and grabbed the coffee and i woke my girl up and i

00:23:40iced down jumbo shrimp oh yeah so yesterday we had we had a couple hoagie trays we always have like
00:23:46the pretzel tray we had we had uh barbecue ribs somebody bought a chick-fil-a platter oh yeah like
00:23:54we ate like there there was a spread like major spread you know um does four does the shrimp stay
00:24:03iced down for all 12 hours so i oh so i always have a couple coolers in my car
00:24:09they were iced up since like quarter to three yesterday morning oh yeah so they let us in the
00:24:15lot at 1 p.m a half hour earlier because traffic was insane in south philly so they were iced up so
00:24:22as soon as i took them out of the cooler they're on ice for hours and hours they were so cold you
00:24:28put a little old bay in it you gotta have the old bay with the shrimp yeah that's how i do it you
00:24:33do you defrost your shrimp you you pound it with old bay shake it up so it's all mixed evenly oh yeah i'm
00:24:40telling you jumbo shrimp it's a game changer greg did you go to the super bowl last year
00:24:46no i watched it all with family okay no i'm being honest with you it wasn't in the budget

00:28:40to to jalen carter after that game because that's insane he's one of their best players yeah and he
00:28:45doesn't take a snap the entire game well what do you say to the ref too i mean you have to throw the
00:28:49guy out of the game i mean i've had guys spit on me when they're talking inadvertent spitting
00:28:53true true yeah get fired up i uh you wait all year to see jalen carter go up against this rookie guard
00:29:01and he's out of the game before it happens but emotions that's the one thing you got to talk to
00:29:06your players about especially early in the season these rivalry games you got to control your emotions
00:29:12and i'm sure carter is embarrassed by those actions yeah no doubt but the eagles still found a way to
00:29:18win but what a horrible way to start the season and it is crazy i mean that's just the headspace you
00:29:23get yourself in before these games man you're just ready for war and he just he just snapped a little

00:29:34technology yeah where you know your dad's a quarterback for the saints god knows what happened
00:29:39back then in the day but they got these iso cams these high def iso cams all over the field see
00:29:44everything yeah see it all now no i was i was actually explaining that to my wife last night how how
00:29:49different it was how beat up they used to get back then uh one guy that probably could have taken it
00:29:54though would be jalen hurts i mean he's so thick so tough dude and i want to ask like the coach's
00:29:59perspective on hurts because philly fans today they're like why aren't you throwing a.j brown
00:30:04why didn't do this that to me jalen hurts is the quintessential coach's quarterback in that
00:30:10he doesn't care about stats he doesn't really seem all all he wants to do is win and he finds
00:30:15ways to consistently make those game when he plays you just summarize him perfectly he can be
00:30:21frustrating if you're a statistician yeah if you're into fantasy football and you want numbers
00:30:26i thought they would go after the cowboys corners digs hadn't played you know he's been on pup he's
00:30:31got the bad wheel they got another corner elam they just picked up from buffalo who hasn't proven he can
00:30:36play you got davonta smith you got the great a.j brown and and he's scrambling around not throwing
00:30:42the passes but the guy's a winner man yeah he's won everywhere he's been and when you look at that banner
00:30:49you're hanging and you look at those super bowl rings this guy's a phenomenal competitor and he
00:30:54finds ways to get it done do you think dac is back he looked good looked good didn't he yeah i was
00:30:59really impressed with press i've always liked prescott you know i think he came into the game
00:31:02nine and four all time against philly oh wow so he ain't afraid of philly he ain't afraid of anybody
00:31:07but he's in his 10th year he's had some injuries it was good to see him run around get a couple yards
00:31:13diving for first downs i think that's going to be the key keeping prescott healthy but you got to
00:31:19give the cowboys offensive line credit that's a young group that played pretty well last night
00:31:24well jalen carter wasn't there that's exactly right big part of it you got to give them credit and
00:31:29you're dealt dac prescott spit first in big it was a great move by dac prescott i know to elicit
00:31:35the spit on him so you can't get thrown out for spitting near somebody are people just going to start
00:31:39spitting by yeah everybody's spitting at them yeah it's yeah where does this stop that's like the game
00:31:45plan you know we got the coaches with the sideline sheet you know you got all the cover two beaters
00:31:49the blitz beaters spit on the other team try to get them pissed off beaters yeah uh so what so like
00:31:56i i'm imagining that some shows today will devolve into like blaming prac that because we always blame
00:32:01the quarterback but like cd lamb betrayed him a bit last night four drops critical drops as well man
00:32:08so you're the head coach that's the guy that y'all have financially committed to what's what's the
00:32:14message to lamb after this one there's not much you can say you put your arm around him you know we
00:32:18got another at bat next week yeah he knows he's got to make these plays um i think sometimes cd tries
00:32:25to do too much before he catches the ball he knows he's so good after the catch he tries to get too creative
00:32:31and he's just got to focus on the one thing he's paid to do catch the damn ball and uh that hurt

00:32:42what were your coach like what were your takeaways from watching last night what what most stood out
00:32:47to you from last night's game well dallas stood out to me the most really i thought they were galvanized
00:32:53last night hitting the field i thought they played together they came out with a great game plan
00:32:57offensively they had balance they were running the ball i know carter wasn't there but still that was
00:33:02booker's first game at right guard yeah yeah i thought the cowboy defense in the second half
00:33:07really played well uh they did a nice job i thought the addition of kenny clark from green bay showed up
00:33:14last night that was a problem for dallas last year the run defense but i like the cowboys it looked like
00:33:19an old-fashioned philadelphia dallas football game it was emotional i didn't like the delay in the second
00:33:26half kind of dampened my spirits yeah bummer it was a nice way to start the season i think dallas
00:33:32has some confidence knowing they can go toe-to-toe with anybody did you know that martha stewart has
00:33:36been struck by lightning three times i did not know that okay yeah now you do yeah have you ever met
00:33:41martha stewart no i haven't that's on my bucket list no stay away yeah i've met her i've interviewed

00:34:19i think they're i think mahomes is 35 and 5 against the west oh my and until further notice they've won

00:34:32city i just i think mahomes and reed that battery is just too good i do like the addition of simmons
00:34:38the left tackle the chiefs made i think that could help their pass protection you know this is this
00:34:44is a great division for me we got all the old coaches yeah no he's 61 years old but two great
00:34:53veteran coaches i just don't like playing in brazil in my opener yeah that would be a real downer for

00:35:03having all these arguments i i think it's too much they're going to try to put a super bowl in london

00:36:09the ball in the air but i still don't know where the chargers are with their receivers i know they

00:36:19it's just more than mconkey this year for this charger pass offense this is a key game in the afc west
00:36:25that's supposed to be a pretty good division denver's kind of on the come up oakland or las vegas as a brand
00:36:30new regime how do you see this division shaking out yeah i i was just in denver on monday and i
00:36:35think the broncos are a lot better team than people think the addition of tofanga and drake greenlaw
00:36:42they give a really good defense from last year a lot of juice those are two great 49ers and they're
00:36:48healthy and i think bo nix in year two with the addition of jk dobbins and this rj harvey they're
00:36:56interesting they are a heck of a team they've got a good kicker and will lutz and i'm really
00:37:01considering denver to win this division that's three people in six letters
00:37:12how like bo nix is so fascinating to me man because we're kind of told that maybe a skill
00:37:17set wouldn't translate to the nfl you know he doesn't push it downfield maybe doesn't have the
00:37:21arm talent there were 18 000 quarterbacks drafted that year uh did did you see it did you see
00:37:27whatever sean payton saw in bo nix like how how's he making it work well i knew bo nix was a good
00:37:33player talented guy because his pre-draft workouts were really impressive okay but what i think sean
00:37:38payton loves the most about nix is he can function in a dirty pocket i mean there's pressure over here
00:37:44a little pressure over there you're gonna get hit he can slither and slide and make accurate
00:37:49a really accurate throws from awkward body positions he can contort his body and get plays
00:37:56off where most guys can't uh in his leadership i was at a function where they introduced the captains
00:38:02almost every guy on the team voted i think every guy voted for bo nix voted bit nix so he walks in
00:38:07there as a young man and everybody on a team is like okay there's our quarterback yeah that says a lot
00:38:13about what bo nix brings to the broncos uh i i do like don't forget his backpack there was that

00:39:14drive but i don't think we're getting a lot of hype i think a lot of people are picking us to be
00:39:17third or fourth in the nfc north but that's just because the north is great yeah no i know but i i
00:39:22don't think a lot of people have been hyping us up i think it's a lot of at least from my
00:39:27perspective there's a lot of hand-wringing about caleb williams i want you to tell us it's gonna be
00:39:31okay yes well i think ben johnson is a big part of this i think ben johnson was brought here to bring
00:39:37out the best in caleb williams i remember when i got sent to tampa bay i was with the raiders yep i
00:39:43woke up in tampa and i said wow we don't have tim brown or jerry rice or charlie garner here you
00:39:48know ben johnson was brought here to get caleb going i can't wait to see it because we got to
00:39:54eliminate the sacks if you're the bears the negative plays a lot of those are on the quarterback
00:39:59holding the ball i'm anxious to see him in this offense because you're going to see him under the
00:40:03center a lot more in this attack than he's ever been in his life and the rhythm of playing
00:40:08quarterback is going to be a lot different they got to get the running game going that's what they
00:40:13did in detroit and they set up the play action passes that's what this whole offense is built on
00:40:19but i got to see a lot more from williams i want to see his leadership i want to see him fit the chicago
00:40:25mindset yeah but they got to get this running game going they got to prove that these two tackles can
00:40:31protect him because there are some down the field passes in this offense and they still have jones
00:40:37at left tackle they still have right at right tackle but i just want to feel the camaraderie
00:40:41between the coach and the quarterback that's something the bears haven't had well coach i'm
00:40:45going to be patient like i have that mentality i know it's going to take time to come together
00:40:49realistically first year head coach second year quarterback how many weeks should it take before
00:40:53i pull the panic button you know you bear people everybody says we're going to be patient we are
00:40:58you guys are going to be screaming and yelling and throwing something you guys are so full of
