00:05:28whatever that's worth also fun fact they use heat lamps on the azaleas to get them to bloom

00:05:33early for the uh for the tournament whatever they're doing it's working yes no stone left

00:05:38unturned and it's it's it's interesting to see how the conversation is going into the tournament

00:05:46and then what immediately changes that's great part about sports right it's unscripted and going in

00:05:51yesterday it was okay rory not entering in the best form scheffler not entering the best form still

00:05:57great but like a lot of people saying you know go and pick an else go another well guess who's

00:06:08he played jeep he seemed to play very free like a man unburdened he already got his master's jack

00:06:25that core style and it feels like rory and i might transit transition into being one of those guys i'm

00:06:30even a golf guy and even i can appreciate the pornographic element of fred couples swing

00:10:12right now and really more about uh the general state of the league and this has been a constant

00:10:18convo over the last few weeks you see mike getting an emphatic product is thick thumbs down

00:10:23because the league stinks it's do you now now by that do you all mean the quality of the

00:10:27basketball or uh just i just think the pro like this is the overall product of it

00:10:33well okay you just you would rather like i would rather watch college basketball a billion times over

00:10:39i found my and i've never been a college basketball guy i've always been a hardline nba guy and i

00:10:43myself for years no i know this year was the first year where i was like i actually would rather

00:10:48tune into it yes me and hester we've been telling it's fun to watch the stars but like people just

00:10:53not high effort like people aren't like grinding for the wins you know i mean that's why the playoffs

00:10:59are fun right i'll watch the playoffs i don't even think the playoffs are that great anymore

00:11:03oh wow you have these blowouts every single like it might go seven but every single game is going

00:11:10to be a 20 point spread yeah the three point that was especially last playoffs uh you really really

00:11:15felt that last season for sure let me tell you guys about the nhl

00:11:20i'm going to my first hockey game on saturday by the way how long you've never been to a blackhawks

00:11:25yeah i'm going with i'm going to ice con all right i'm gonna be there with elio the whole

00:11:31no no on that note though i'm going to my first nba game tonight okay hell yeah dude the bulls

00:11:37we're gonna get in chicago dante invited me and i'm like all right uh both are very fun hockey games

00:11:44are probably hockey hockey is one of the sports that benefits most seeing it live i would say

00:11:51it's kind of like a nascar race yeah in that it feels completely different yeah it was very hard

00:12:44you're also right nhl playoffs unreal product that's on the horizon but let's talk about the nba uh because

00:12:52one of the major elements in the bad product the ll referencing or the fact that seemingly half the

00:12:58league is tanking and it's it's a uh mikey have you ever heard of valeus pedarchulis

00:13:07because he has a quote that is uh what he's always stuck with me okay what do you think

00:13:13i've heard of valerius valeus pedarchulis it's about uh precedent okay and it's no man considers a

00:13:20course base for himself which has proven profitable to others and unfortunately there is a

00:13:28a laundry list there are a laundry list of nba teams that have tanked and it's worked out

00:13:33incredibly well for them i mean look at the spurs entire franchise history yeah take it for tim

00:13:38duggan now take it for wimby look how good they are now it's it's and so even though it hurts

00:13:43even

00:13:44though it's it it feels terrible for the fans for the players for the coaches for the front office

00:13:48for the league in general the rewards are so great so the question becomes how do you

00:13:54disincentivize teams how do you make it so that they don't try to lose games to get the best players

00:13:59especially in a game like the nba because it's a strong league sport one player changes everything

00:14:03and adam silver's solution that he seems to be leaning towards is just flattening the lottery odds

00:14:08so every team that does not make the postseason will have the exact same eight percent chance uh to

00:14:15get that lottery ball to go their way so that um so that you're not incentivized to try to lose

00:14:21as

00:14:21many games as possible thoughts let's put it in immediately give the bulls a real chance but it's

00:14:26just like this is a rule for the bulls the bulls are content the bulls the heat those teams the

00:14:32hawks

00:14:32there was three years in a row where those were the the play-in teams every year they're just

00:14:36in the middle always so it kind of rewards these teams that aren't doing the right thing anyways

00:14:42like they can't even tank properly but i i hope that uh i don't know it's just the bottom of

00:14:48the league

00:14:48is so bad and when you pull up uh tankathon.com which gives you the update odds it's like oh

00:14:53the worst two teams league have lost 16 in a row like they're not even trying to hide it a

00:14:59bit so we're i think it's a worthwhile experiment i don't think it fixes the product in general crazy

00:15:46have a two and a half percent chance so it'd be you'd have to completely miss the uh the play

00:15:51which even then maybe the bulls are screwed again yeah yeah but so i look i think i think this

00:15:58near impossible problem to solve i think the flattening of the odds is probably about as good

00:16:08of a of a solution as i can think of because of its simplicity it's not overwrought it's elegant

00:16:16it's it's very cut and dry and i think it's a good base to maybe start there you get a

00:16:21couple years

00:16:21of data and you see okay how have teams reacted do we need to change do we need to make

00:16:25it more

00:16:26complicated do we need to put more rules in place but i think i think it's potentially a very good

00:16:30starting point um but this is a big playoffs for the nba they they got to put out a good

00:16:34product

00:16:35because you know the nhl is definitely about to yeah this has been one of the most exciting

00:16:39run-ins uh to the end of the season for the nhl in a long time the eastern conference has

00:16:44got like

00:16:44five teams going for one spot the west is pretty tight as soon as teams get in it turns it

00:16:50like the

00:16:50the level of play from the playoffs to the regular season the nhl it just takes a huge jump and

00:16:57it

00:16:57just it's it's the best thing on tv for two months and the nba just can't recreate that i don't

00:17:03think it was always that way either i don't even think this is like an old man moment i feel

00:17:07the nba used to be much more competitive no it was i i don't know 2016 a lot of people

00:21:25season and one thing about the nfl man it is why are you so sad oh no no i'm folding

00:21:43one thing about the nfl is uh you can craft storylines out of thin air right that was

00:21:51zesty you can you can get into the lab and just and just uh just do whatever you want and

00:21:58we've done that and i think it's kind of a fun conversation it's which quarterback going into

00:22:032026 has the most pressure on him and we're gonna go guy by guy here let's start with lamar jackson

00:22:11chief how do you feel about lamar jackson entering 2026 you know i kind of feel like they might have

00:22:17missed their window last year where they had uh the afc all the best quarterbacks aside from josh

00:22:22allen were kind of down it felt like the the path was there now they go out and get trey

00:22:27hendrickson so

00:22:27they have the defense you know pretty fully loaded i do think there's a lot of pressure on him there

00:22:33there is always that narrative that he can't get it done in the playoffs it's time for lamar jackson to

00:22:38uh they've they've got to get to a super bowl the playoff pressure is perennially perennially on lamar

00:22:46however if this is a conversation about how good lamar is still which you know some people want to

00:22:52say after having the down year last year i think that's kind of crazy yeah like i mean let's not

00:22:58forget because i i wanted to dive into this to remember how overwhelmingly good he was

00:23:02two seasons ago 4100 pass yards 8.8 yards per attempt 41 touchdowns to four picks guys yeah he's

00:23:13he had another thousand on the ground he led the league in touchdown percentage yards per attempt

00:23:16qb rating yards per carry like yes last year was a down year but i'm not going to overreact now

00:23:23if he

00:23:23has another bad year this year then over the hill conversations are going to be legitimate um so i

00:23:28think he's very good but to your point chief for lamar at this point in his career everything just

00:23:33comes down to success in the post and they kind of pushed out harbaugh for him is kind of the

00:23:38narrative so yeah no that okay that's true that's a good one i had it considered yeah um i just

00:23:42feel

00:23:42like he hasn't cared recently like i don't feel like i see lamar fired up i don't feel like i

00:23:47see him

00:23:47excited to play it does like i know last season was down it's hard to play through that but like

00:23:52if

00:23:53you're a franchise quarterback if you did have the years that you had why are you not going out there

00:23:57with more excitement to play the game that was and it is kind of funny because that does kind of

00:24:01tie into some of the narrative that was uh coming up on the harbaugh stuff was him like like sleeping

00:24:07in meetings and stuff i don't know what i believe or don't believe there but in terms of some of

00:24:11the

00:24:11guys we're going to talk about lamar's one of the ones that i feel i think is actually in a

00:24:15pretty

00:24:15good spot um jordan love jordan love where you have jordan love can you take the next step

00:24:21you bring back lafleur um well the division's passed him by we're in a bears era now

00:24:30i mean like i think he's reached his ceiling it's just can they build a team around an average

00:24:35quarterback i would say he's above average i would say he's but he's perfect i look i know i know

00:24:41you know as a bears fan perfectly average is like completely fine i mean yeah it's fine

00:24:44think about how this green bay team looked to start the season last year they looked like

00:24:50juggernauts they were fantastic i took a i took a super bowl future on them yeah we all did you

00:24:55before everything went to to crap um what year is this from this highlight that my my deal with

00:25:02jordan love is um i think he's how do i how do i want to say this i like i

00:25:11i it makes sense what

00:25:13the packers are doing here like like to stick with him he's he's been very solid you look at

00:25:17numbers it's very consistent in 23 it's 32 touchdowns 11 picks then 25 11 23 to 6 last year and

00:25:24really

00:25:24last year was a was a year he had missed a couple games also defense kind of ruled the day

00:25:29his

00:25:29receivers always get hurt yeah i'm i'm i'm like it would be too reactive to bail on the green bay

00:25:37packers and jordan love especially because it wasn't even though he could always do things better

00:25:42i wouldn't blame the packers offense for those heartbreaking losses to the uh to the bears

00:25:49yeah and and if we're in a safe space here when jordan love drops back and he hits hits his

00:25:54back

00:25:55foot yeah i like my heart stops yeah because it's just something about it he just floats that ball out

00:26:00there and it's like completed every single time so he is a very good quarterback i don't think he's

00:26:04the best quarterback in the division anymore it does feel good to say that the ice man the ice man

00:26:09baby the ice man cometh to the ice man i mean we don't even have caleb williams on this list

00:26:14but

00:26:14does he how much pressure does he have i don't think he has that much pressure

00:26:19maybe to like sustain what he did last year and that's what i'm saying he has to but i think

00:26:23he's

00:26:24for the sake of like getting really comfortable yeah he's getting very comfortable yeah year two with

00:26:28the nfl right yeah i think he has to uh i think caleb williams it all we know he can

00:27:31they're anticipating so if they've corrected that problem i think the lines will be right back in the

00:27:35mix one thing about jared golf is i do think he's passed the test of public perception where everybody

00:27:40just accepts that he's a good quarterback yeah he's good like they didn't believe that like he played

00:27:43for a super bowl nobody believed that we just thought he was mcveigh's meat puppet yeah but uh but but

00:27:49he's he's he's he's done well uh what about dac this is a national sports show we got to talk

00:27:54cowboys this this is pressure dac has to do something i'm so tired of talking about the

00:27:59cowboys preseason how dac's one of the best quarterbacks in the league what has dac done

00:28:05so what has he done this is interesting to me because we're saying the same thing but i

00:28:09filtered it differently in that i think dac has no pressure because i have no expectation

00:28:15for the cowboys like i know he's a good quarterback but i know they won't win anything look then the

00:28:19expectations we need to stop saying that dac is a top five quarterback that the the the dallas

00:28:25cowboys are going to you know go to a long playoff run no is he top 10 at this point

00:32:11your starting pitcher and you don't know who for sure is going to be out there playing so you don't

00:32:15want to put your hard-earned money and your heart behind say like a shohei for you know whether it's

00:32:20a batter prop whether it's you know you think that he's going to get total bases whatever you don't

00:32:24want to put all your eggs in one basket before you know what's actually going on on the diamond

00:32:28yep so first off we're going to go with uh what i like to look at which is going to

00:32:35bullpen discrepancies what bullpen discrepancies okay so you've heard the the saying that you know

00:32:41a team is only as good as their worst player yeah i feel like that could also be true for

00:32:46a bullpen obviously you have your starters that are going out there that are just ripping but then

00:32:52if the bullpen isn't good you're going to have to look at that game a little bit differently right

00:32:57so whenever you have a bullpen that's not as good you just have these starters you're going to want

00:33:02to look at like a first five play you're going to want to look at batter props you're going to

00:33:05want

00:33:05to look at that starting k prop you don't want to play that that full game there with with a

00:33:10terrible terrible bullpen yeah it's an inning by inning affair now yes right they just bring a guy

00:33:15in knocks out the inning bring the next guy in knock out an inning um up next we're going to

00:33:20look

00:33:21at k props as i said a little bit earlier with the bullpen discrepancies bullpen discrepancies you're

00:33:27going to want to look at those starting pitchers if you've been betting baseball if you've been watching

00:33:30baseball a lot of these starting pitchers are guys that you have watched pitch a thousand times

00:33:35yeah you know their stuff you know exactly how they're going to deliver and that's where you

00:33:40want to bet those k props um up next we're going to look at run line dominance so right now

00:33:47early in

00:33:47the season if teams are absolutely going out there and mashing don't be afraid to take the run line so

00:33:53right now what is the run line so the run line is to win by uh two runs so not

00:33:57just the money line

00:33:58you're going to oh wow minus one and a half yes okay um so what you're going to want to

00:34:02do uh is you're

00:34:03going to look say yankees brewers those two teams right now are hitting the run line at 77.8 percent

00:34:10so don't be afraid baseball gambling is too smart there's so many numbers i just need like

00:34:18no no no don't be afraid to you know if it's a heavy favorite gas it up a little bit

00:34:24yankees

00:34:25dodgers brewers right now go ahead take the run line um we're going to get into my firstly for bad

00:34:31teams yes okay lastly we're going to get into first five we talked about you know the run line

00:34:36dominance however when you look at a first five which is obviously the first five innings uh a lot

00:34:42of those heavy hitting teams they're going to be way overpriced there's not going to be any value there

00:34:47so what you're going to want to look at is the big dogs those first five innings because you're

00:34:52going to get plus money and you could also get plus a half a run that first five which means

00:34:56if

00:34:56they're tied you still win your bet um best teams right now hitting that first five margin

00:35:01twins diamondbacks white socks you're going to get plus money on all three of those teams

00:35:08especially in the first five so uh that's just a little bit of my my advice hopefully you learned

00:35:13something hopefully i can guide you into baseball betting a little bit so yeah so i mean essentially

00:35:18you could boil the last point down to bet the bad teams early the good teams late

00:35:22basically because like if there's a lot of baseball the entire game like for example like

00:35:26the mariners i uh they're i think the second favorite to win the world series behind the

00:35:30dodgers uh the other day i took the rangers over the mariners because right now the rangers are just

00:35:35playing better baseball just because the mariners are one of the favorites to win the world series

00:35:39you need to look at it game by game because there's so many games and baseball it's a long sport

00:35:44long season so make sure you're really you know crossing your t's and dotting your i's look at

00:35:50batter versus pitcher matchups you know look at historics uh you know how how well the pitcher

00:35:56does in that park look at teams that are striking out a lot a lot of different variables there but

00:36:01that's why i love betting baseball because there are so many options and there's a lot of live

00:36:07betting opportunities throughout the game hell yes thank you megan excellent job dude i feel like

00:37:15all the golf guys things are running fast things are running firm it was one of the highest average

00:37:20scores that they've had in a while but some guys did very well and uh here's a very interesting

00:37:27tweet from our guy kyle porter since 2005 only two players tiger rory have ever come from outside the

00:37:34top 10 after round one to win the masters so your 2026 champ is almost assuredly one of the names

00:37:40on

00:37:40your screen right now again it seems like the main storyline is rory mcelroy as he spent a long time

00:37:48trying to get that green jacket he finally does he wasn't even playing well coming in and he was

00:37:52locked in yesterday not someone who's even known for playing well the first round of the masters but i

00:37:57think again the best thing that i saw to rory yesterday and i think i loved watching is it just

00:38:02felt

00:38:02like a man who was playing free every year for the past decade of his life this tournament has been

00:38:10trying to achieve the career grand slam everybody watching him will he fail candy step up and to be

00:38:15able to enter yesterday and not have any of that it had to be one of the best feelings that

00:38:20a human being

00:38:21can achieve i mean after winning is the you know other majors this one being the last one for the

00:38:27grand slam yeah you want to talk about pressure yeah this guy has felt the most pressure of anyone

00:38:33for the last i don't even know 10 years to win a green jacket it's been playing with complete house

00:38:38money so many times so i was happy to see him win it last year and now that you're saying

00:38:43he's playing

00:38:43free i mean might as well dude you you literally have hit the pinnacle of your career of hitting a

00:38:49grand slam now just enjoy it have fun playing golf have fun going to augusta and trying to get

00:38:55another green jackie you know it's awesome well and and when you're when you're a guy of rory's

00:38:59skill and you see this all the time right phil couldn't break through forever then he does break

00:39:02through and he ends up winning a bunch right it's it's one of those deals where they always have the

00:39:05skill set but it's something mentally that can be holding them back and when those barriers are

00:39:11broken down then the skill set really gets to shine um another guy best golfer in the world and by

00:39:17the way rory's the betting favorite now after day one but uh hey scheffler yeah i mean again a guy

00:39:23that

00:39:24wasn't thought to be in his best form he's had another kid recently what does that have to do

00:39:28with his form no he doesn't hold him you know no well no okay okay i i'm sure scheffler has

00:39:33a lot of

00:39:34help but he is someone who is he seems to have a very square head on his shoulders right he's

00:39:40known

00:39:40for being like a very relaxed guy doesn't seem to ever make the moment too big a very family oriented

00:39:46guy um but whether it's fair or not he wasn't in his best form entering this tournament he looked

00:39:51fantastic yes yes he did uh number one player in the world somebody you always have to pay attention

00:39:56to he comes in at two under and then how about justin rose i love it i like i was

00:40:02him up baller dude it's his his masters numbers are kind of absurd he has led uh he has been

00:40:11for leader in the lead at the end of 11 masters rounds in his career i might bet on him

00:40:16that is the

00:40:16most for a player that has never won is this the year where justin rose can finally push through

00:40:23so as a person that doesn't really watch much golf yeah why has he not been able to push through

00:40:29like

00:40:29what what what has been the play like his play in the masters that have has not brought him to

00:40:34that

00:40:34next it's it kind of sucks because i i don't even know and and the real golf guys you know

00:40:39better than

00:40:39me i i but i don't even know that he's had like epic collapses no he just loses he's lost

00:40:45playoffs like he's literally lost yeah so the problem like like like uh matt just said in my

00:40:51ear it's just it's just running into better players yeah it's running into tiger when it's

00:40:54his moment or rory when it's his moment and him just not being able to get across the finish line

00:41:23to be in the top ten like like look at mini golf look at you know the the olds the

00:41:27guys were ahead then the youngs yesterday just come back they played talk about that a little bit

00:41:32they played that tournament too late at night for the olds yeah we talked about that you were a demon

00:41:36i was locked in i was i was like but but but still like so if you don't know we

00:41:41had our uh barstool

00:41:42mini golf yesterday shout out to everybody who put it together it's for forty thousand dollars it

00:41:47was gen z versus the millennials and um more like boomers while you guys are complaining

00:41:53unfortunately we ran into the unstoppable force that has been mince's uh good luck actually mince

00:42:00played great golf yesterday the oldest guy on the team yeah doesn't make any sense

00:42:04he also almost hit that winning shot that no he played great but that would have been

00:42:08the pinnacle of the golf game i mean everyone it's happened so many times where you know mince

00:42:14gets to the very end and then wonderful things happen him hitting a hole in one like max's was

00:42:20electric and but like like with max it's like it's almost like expected with him right like a big

00:42:25blow up or like whatever with mince he's just so damn positive and just you know like it's got to

00:42:32get hot so here it is this is max final putt this is after two days of golf we played

00:42:39two rounds of

00:42:40uh match play where you play with a teammate and you're switching off we played i love a full round

00:42:46of individual match play yesterday and it was dead even all the way into sudden death over time

00:42:51and max delente hits the hole in one to uh take home 40k for the boys i gotta say whenever

00:42:59things

00:42:59happen like that and like max or whoever like whoever wins i'm usually the only girl on the team

00:43:03every time yeah so whenever everyone breaks out to that celebration i usually tend to stay behind

00:43:09smart because be careful everyone gets so hype and there's always someone i mean max is throwing the

00:43:15rocks yeah that was a big bounce back for max too because me and him were head to head i

00:43:19had to win

00:43:20force ot i thought i broke his spirit i thought i had him and then he shows up when it

00:43:25matters most

00:43:25i gotta talk about the white socks that ball was gonna stay in no matter what

00:43:33when he picked it up i was dying laughing because there was just no world who was gonna hop over

00:43:39that was dave knows best that was the quintessential white socks dave moment it was going out of bounds

00:43:51so i was just on to the next hole and he's like i was fired up i was just locked

00:43:56i'm like you're not on my team you're not even playing that's a literal opposite yeah but he

00:44:02he's like a little brother king of excuses he's never been wrong oh my gosh so think about that

00:44:07like you have a little like a sibling and like y'all are playing any type of game like no

00:44:10no i wasn't gonna pick that up and like everything they're saying it's just they're talking on the

00:44:15sides of the back we haven't had dave on this show yet we need to he's one of the best

00:44:19he's got a chew gum um but at the rate he's he's in the chicago crew it's him it's chief

00:44:24they've been doing it for years together you can see the chemistry they love messing with each other

00:44:40greatest i mean it's just so it's not even remotely going out he was so quick it's one thing to

00:44:55there's another thing of of just there was it was not going out of bounds not even close and then

00:44:59throws his hands up like he didn't do anything and then he's claiming he's just trying to gaslight

00:45:23referee was all business pete and it comes not two minute after him saying to pete that he needs to

00:45:34relief correctly well like he had he was accidentally bumping into rocks where there was a little moving

00:45:45yesterday after all the talk freddie he ended up kind of pissing out and he called it he said he's

00:45:50gonna pedal very fun though and i'll say this dude uh i i i love when you can kind of

00:46:05fathom the pressure of these professionals because yesterday even going into my match like i said last

00:46:11match 40 can like gotta win at one point i'm going to take relief and i see my putter just

00:46:21had adrenaline

00:46:22pumping the entire round dave looked like wet chihuahuas like spider's knees were like

00:46:28every time he was going to putt and then dave at one point i looked at him like are you

00:46:33goes oh yeah yeah and i'm like it's it's pretty chilly in here we're just playing mini golf he's just

00:46:38like drenched in sweat i was tired just anyway shout out to the guys and you guys were playing on

00:46:42they're playing on no that's what i'm saying like think about trying to put on a master's green where

00:46:46it's basically like glass you tap it it goes 40 50 feet oh uh but but but it's cool because

00:51:01bad eyes so i kind of panicked but i was thinking about like warmer weather oh so i did uh

00:51:07bites and then a smoked tuna dip oh i probably would do like the crostinis instead of the crackers

00:51:13but still um bacon wrapped jalapenos um those are just always my favorite and then uh like a cream

00:51:19cheese in them yeah of course and i would i would probably smoke those like a smoked uh jalapeno and

00:51:26then the spring rolls with like a shrimp you want like a handheld something crunchy something light

00:51:29like a good spicy or peanut dipping sauce with it those are the appetizers and i tried to kind

00:51:35of make everything cohesive here uh next we're gonna do it would be like a like a smoked pork or

00:51:40like a carnita taco with love of pineapple pico yeah like a pineapple pico uh fresh chips homemade

00:51:46guac like you have a little setup with people just like mulling the guacamole love a table side guac

00:51:52yeah mortar and pestle me to death yes and then the fresh chips they're over there frying them you

00:51:57can smell them when you're waiting in line uh main course uh a blackened tuna steak that's a bit

00:52:03interesting yeah so i wanted to get a little nicer but again kind of stay with like a lighter meal

00:52:07um so yeah just i love i also just love tuna blackened tuna and then look like a little fresh

00:52:12arugula

00:52:13salad on the side um and then i was gonna do dessert we're gonna do either a banana pudding or

00:52:18a

00:52:19strawberry shortcake this is a fancy pants this is good this is very great i wanted it we're at

00:52:23the masters i wanted to yeah i wanted i wanted a little nicer um and so i i in my

00:52:30opinion i make

00:52:30some of the best banana pudding ever and so that's what would kind of be my goal but if you

00:52:35don't like

00:52:35banana pudding i feel like strawberry shortcake is a nice little nice little side all right guys have
