00:00:00What is this, Mikey? What do I see? Is that a woman on the set in the chair? Oh, my gosh. Let's go, guys. It's going to be a great Friday. Look, there's Megan. She's sitting on the set today. We got Chief filling in as well. It's our final day before the Super Bowl. And look, we got a dip competition. We're going to talk parties, Hall of Fame class, NFL awards, all this and more. Final predictions, props, money corner. It's going to be a very fun show. And it all starts now on FS1.
00:00:30What is going on, world? Hope you're having an excellent Friday, Super Bowl Friday.
00:00:56And thus, here on WUB, Wake Up Barstool, we are throwing our own Super Bowl party today.
00:01:01Okay, we're going to be breaking down the game. Like I said, have a lot of fun. We're having a dip competition.
00:01:06Yeah, bummed.
00:01:07Here at the Chicago Barstool Sports HQ, we have a very nice kitchen in this big cat fantasy factory of a building in which we all reside.
00:01:17And we have all brought dip recipes from our lives. We're going to make them, taste them.
00:01:23We'll make them during the show, taste them at the end of the show, and a winner will be crowned.
00:01:28What's up, guys? How are we feeling? We got Mikey. We got Chief. We got Megan on the docket today.
00:01:32Mikey, what's up, baby? How you doing?
00:01:33Feeling great.
00:01:34Welcome back. I'm just really excited to eat the dips.
00:01:36To be quite honest with you.
00:01:38Me too. Breakfast of champions.
00:01:39I haven't eaten in a long time.
00:01:40How are we scoring these dips?
00:01:42I don't know.
00:01:43Well, in honor of the Olympics, it's going to be a judging score. In fact, maybe we can get out our football fashion report one through ten cards and just do it straight judge style.
00:01:53Oh, I like that.
00:01:53Yeah. Chief, how was San Fran? Congrats on the big flag football victory, dude.
00:01:57Thank you very much, San Fran. The weather this morning coming back from California was tough.
00:02:04It's just instant snow back to reality, but it was good. I think I was there for about 14 hours. It was great.
00:02:09Yeah, a little whistle-stop tour. Meg, what's up? Welcome in. Glad to have you on the actual panel today.
00:02:17Thanks for having me. Very excited to be here.
00:02:20You were telling me before the show, you love your Super Bowl props.
00:02:25I do, which usually is a very bad thing. I looked into them over the week, and I put in, I think, four, four or five that I really, really like.
00:02:36However, if I go back to one year, my husband and I did a Super Bowl board of all props, put them all up, all the ones we bet,
00:02:46and we were really excited because we loved them all. Lost so much money.
00:02:51Yes, but that's, you know, that's the joys of Sunday. It's going to be getting together with family, playing all sorts of games with the props.
00:02:57I'm excited. I'm going to make some, do you all do the commercial bingo?
00:03:01No, what's that?
00:03:03This is the first time I heard of it when you, when was the last time you talked about it?
00:03:06I probably talked about it yesterday. I made it work because we were talking Super Bowl parties.
00:03:09Oh, Big T, I think.
00:03:11Yeah, well, Big T, you know, I mean, imagine this.
00:03:12He's the Grinch.
00:03:13Imagine this. Big T doesn't like Super Bowl parties.
00:03:16Yeah, you wouldn't say.
00:03:17Yeah, could not have fathomed that one.
00:03:19What does he like?
00:03:20He doesn't like anything.
00:03:21He likes.
00:03:21He likes country music.
00:03:23Yep.
00:03:23He likes church.
00:03:24Tennessee football.
00:03:25No, he's kind of.
00:03:25Well, no, he's turning on our church.
00:03:27Oh, is he?
00:03:28Me and him go to the same church, and now he's thinking about going to the church.
00:03:30He likes to come to the church.
00:03:31I don't know if he likes our church.
00:03:33He still loves the Lord.
00:03:34He just doesn't like it.
00:03:34Yes, yeah, he may not like our specific church anymore.
00:03:36Tennessee football.
00:03:37He likes Tennessee football.
00:03:38Or just Tennessee in general.
00:03:39That's about it.
00:03:39Politics.
00:03:40He likes Naples.
00:03:41He likes that seed-to-table Trump grocery store.
00:03:43Yes.
00:03:44Shout out Big Boys.
00:03:45Shout out to Big Boys Club.
00:03:46Sorry, we had an episode recorded this week, but because producer Peyton wasn't there, of course,
00:03:51we screwed it up and had technical difficulties, so we can't.
00:03:55We don't know how to do that.
00:03:55Shout out Peyton.
00:03:56She's the best.
00:03:57Shout out Peyton.
00:03:58Even though Ella had probably, on Big Boys, the best breakdown analysis that I've heard
00:04:04of Sam Darnold, and it was just, Sam Darnold.
00:04:06Sam Darnold.
00:04:07Just sounds like a nerd.
00:04:08She thinks he's going to fail because his name is Sam Darnold, which is kind of hard
00:04:13to argue with, dude.
00:04:14No, that guy's from good stock.
00:04:16I don't know.
00:04:17A nerd.
00:04:18His grandpa's a Marlboro man.
00:04:19Dick Hammer's the man, okay, without a doubt.
00:04:22And Kate had a Thursday night football roast this football season where she blew our mind
00:04:27with the story of Dick Hammer, right?
00:04:29He was like a volunteer fireman.
00:04:32Olympian.
00:04:33Marlboro man.
00:04:34He randomly decided to become an Olympian.
00:04:36Like volleyball or something.
00:04:37Yeah, one of the toughest, most badass-looking son's guns that's ever existed.
00:04:41But his name was Dick Hammer.
00:04:43That would probably score high in the Ella Griff analysis chart.
00:04:46Yeah.
00:04:47This guy's name is Sam Darnold.
00:04:49Sam Darnold.
00:04:49Tough to overcome.
00:04:51Yeah.
00:04:51And he's a ginger, too.
00:04:55And he's a ginger.
00:04:56So maybe she's on to something.
00:04:57I might be betting the Patriots now.
00:04:59You're going against Drake May?
00:05:01Yeah.
00:05:01A guy named Drake with a 4'3 field speed?
00:05:04Going to be tough.
00:05:05Going to be tough for Sam and the boys.
00:05:07So yeah, Big T hates Super Bowl parties.
00:05:09We do not, though.
00:05:10We like them.
00:05:10And so commercial bingo is just...
00:05:12I kind of hate Super Bowl parties.
00:05:13You hate Super Bowl parties?
00:05:14Why?
00:05:15I know.
00:05:16When it's a big game that I want to watch, it's the last football game for seven months,
00:05:19I don't like being out of the bars, I don't like having all the side conversations going
00:05:23on around me.
00:05:24I want to watch the game.
00:05:25So if it's a game that I care about, I do care about the Super Bowl.
00:05:29Yeah.
00:05:29I kind of want to just be in my own element and watch the game.
00:05:32I'm with Chief Halfway.
00:05:33I feel like it should be a separation of church and state.
00:05:36If you're going to have a Super Bowl party, you don't need your Aunt Dolores talking over
00:05:43Chris Collinsworth whenever you're trying to hear the call, asking personal family questions.
00:05:47Dolores has great stories.
00:05:48Yeah, but...
00:05:48Trying to catch up.
00:05:49I haven't seen her.
00:05:50Well, then, okay, there needs to be an area where maybe there's a second TV around the
00:05:54food and the place where the people that want to socialize are.
00:05:57That's fair.
00:05:58And then, it's like Thanksgiving, whenever you see all the men around the TV and all
00:06:01the women are in the kitchen.
00:06:02Yeah.
00:06:03Kind of like that, except I would also like to watch the call.
00:06:05Wow, look, I was about to say, you are.
00:06:07You finally make it to the chair and you're immediately betraying your female counterpart.
00:06:10No, I'm a feminist at heart.
00:06:12No, look, ideally, yes, y'all are right, right?
00:06:17Maybe because like Stu Feiner talked about his massive party that he has with his 18,000
00:06:22televisions and a million different rooms and he has a room where everybody goes if they
00:06:26want to really lock in.
00:06:27That may not be possible.
00:06:28I'm going to let you all in on a little secret.
00:06:30You can just ignore people.
00:06:34You can actually just watch the game.
00:06:36You can lock into the game the amount that you want to.
00:06:40But then you turn out to be like mean and like a not a good time at the party.
00:06:45I agree.
00:06:45You're a party pooper if you're that way.
00:06:47How bad do you want it?
00:06:49And what are you willing to sacrifice to get it?
00:06:52I love Super Bowl parties, dude.
00:06:53Yeah, there we go.
00:06:55I just love when there's just so much food, just finger food in the kitchen.
00:07:00Well, how we always did it growing up was like we had either a basement for the guys
00:07:05that wanted to go watch it or our living room is kind of separate from our kitchen.
00:07:10And so all the all the women and the moms and the aunts and the family.
00:07:14That's the way it would all go drink with their wine and socialize in the kitchen while
00:07:19the guys would watch the Super Bowl and talk shop and stuff like that.
00:07:24So and then I would just go and just production seems to be casting out that you watch the
00:07:28game in light of all that available food.
00:07:31I I I maintained both very well.
00:07:35Here's the Super Bowl is unique.
00:07:37And we haven't talked about this show yet, obviously, because it's one of those things
00:07:39that I think we hold to be self-evident.
00:07:41But it is without a doubt the most locked in you are on commercial breaks all year long.
00:07:48Right.
00:07:48Yeah. Yeah.
00:07:49Like it's the only time where I actually feel the pull to not want to get up and do
00:07:53something during the commercials.
00:07:55And and well, maybe it's because of commercial bingo.
00:07:57So how that works is you just have a bunch of you can like just look one up online.
00:08:01Some do it by brand.
00:08:02Some do it by kind of themes.
00:08:04And it's just little bingo charts.
00:08:05And you win the everybody throws in an amount of money and whoever gets the first bingo ends
00:08:10up winning.
00:08:11But it gets you even more dialed in on the commercials.
00:08:13Very fun stuff.
00:08:14OK, very fun stuff.
00:08:15It's a good way to involve like younger kids that don't really want to watch the game.
00:08:19Exactly.
00:08:20That way they can sit there, lock in and you know, it's fun.
00:08:24It's family fun.
00:08:25But also like, hey, you do your thing.
00:08:27I'm fine.
00:08:28But then you have the people that are a commercial comes on and you all scream.
00:08:33Oh, that's the blah, blah, blah.
00:08:34Yeah.
00:08:35But then you miss.
00:08:36Yeah, it's the best though.
00:08:37Yeah.
00:08:37I mean, whatever.
00:08:38I don't care that much.
00:08:39I'll say this too, Megan.
00:08:41We have kids.
00:08:42So I don't know if your kids are like this, but my kids are fascinated by commercials.
00:08:48Like they actively look forward to them because there are no commercials in anything they watch.
00:08:53Right.
00:08:53That's a good point.
00:08:54Everything's streaming.
00:08:55I got YouTube premium.
00:08:56So when they see a commercial, it's actually like a treat.
00:08:59That'll end.
00:09:00They're like, what is this toy?
00:09:01What is this thing here?
00:09:02I didn't know this existed.
00:09:04So I can't wait.
00:09:06I can't wait to have the family all together, the brand new couch, checking out Super Bowl Sunday.
00:09:10It's going to be sick.
00:09:11Now, in terms of the game itself, I've talked about this game for a long time.
00:09:17Two weeks, basically.
00:09:19I want to get y'all's opinion.
00:09:21Mikey, how are you feeling about this matchup on Sunday?
00:09:23Where's your head at?
00:09:23What are you identifying as kind of what you think is going to decide the game?
00:09:28I say it every week.
00:09:29For college NFL, it's going to be how Patriots offensive line can handle Seahawks defense.
00:09:36And obviously, we know Seahawks have a great offense.
00:09:40But, you know, and then another thing is Christian Gonzalez.
00:09:43He's obviously going to be on JSN.
00:09:45So then what, you know, you got to have eyes on A.J. Barnard.
00:09:49I think my guy A.J. Barnard is going to have a big game.
00:09:51You think he's doing for a big one?
00:09:52Yeah, I think all the eyes will be on JSN.
00:09:54I think he's going to have a big one.
00:09:56But it's just going to be how are they going to handle the Seahawks front seven.
00:10:01They haven't done a great job.
00:10:02They have to establish a run early with Ramondre and Travion.
00:10:07But I say that every week for every single game.
00:10:10It's just trench warfare.
00:10:13Whoever comes on top of that is going to win the game, I think.
00:10:15Yeah, establishing the run might be a tall order as the Seahawks are not allowed 100-yard rush in 26 straight games.
00:10:22Yeah.
00:10:22And are maybe the best run defense in the entire NFL.
00:10:26Chief, what about you?
00:10:26Where are you at?
00:10:27I think I'm on Seattle.
00:10:29Kind of for the same points that Cadex is saying.
00:10:32But I don't even know how you match up Christian Gonzalez.
00:10:35They line him up everywhere.
00:10:36They put him in the backfield.
00:10:37It's going to be hard to just go man coverage on that.
00:10:40And then they've got Shahid as the guy taking the top off.
00:10:45Everything in my gut tells me it's Seattle.
00:10:49I'm very scared about all the public money being on Seattle.
00:10:51I'm very scared about the Dave Portnoy factor.
00:10:54There just feels like it's going to be one of those things where it's like you should have just,
00:10:59if all the public money, because I think it's the highest amount of public money ever on one side.
00:11:04It's over 70% on one side of the Super Bowl.
00:11:07So that just makes me think it's going to go the opposite.
00:11:09So I'm in my own head about it a little bit.
00:11:11But on paper, it does feel like Seattle's just the better team.
00:11:17One thing about Christian Gonzalez traveling around,
00:11:21I think the only time he did that this year was maybe against Tampa.
00:11:24They played Emeka Ibuka and it went okay there.
00:11:27But that's something to watch.
00:11:28And then can they manufacture matchups with Jason against Carlton Davis?
00:11:32Meg, what about you?
00:11:33I'm kind of with Chief as far as the game.
00:11:36With everyone being on the Seahawks, I am scared to take a side.
00:11:41I've taken some prop bets.
00:11:42I do like the under, but I feel like that's another play that is probably very public at this point.
00:11:47Yeah.
00:11:48Again, I feel like I've heard nothing but everyone saying Seahawks, Seahawks, Seahawks,
00:11:54besides Patriots fans.
00:11:56However, I do believe in the magic of Dave Portnoy.
00:12:00I hate how mind-barked we are.
00:12:02We are all so mind-niged by our tiny king boss.
00:12:08I don't, that's the thing.
00:12:09Dave comes up and he wins.
00:12:12That's just what Dave does.
00:12:13And if you look at the week so far, Hank was on the winning.
00:12:17The poop race, he gave himself a 15-yard head start.
00:12:20Yeah, okay, so poop race.
00:12:21He had a bad hamstring, dude.
00:12:23And then Hank wins the football, the flag football with Chief.
00:12:31And then the dozen last night, Dave's team, ZD, Hank's on that team, won.
00:12:36Oh, no way.
00:12:37I didn't realize that.
00:12:38So it feels like they're starting to be a Dave Portnoy trend.
00:12:42Did they hit their NOS too early?
00:12:44Maybe he won too much this week.
00:12:46He needed to get a loss out the way.
00:12:48Some would say he's maybe due.
00:12:50He did lose to me in that.
00:12:53Oh, that's true.
00:12:53Yeah, because technically PFT was the coach of PFT.
00:12:55The one point I tried to make the counterpunch, it just got shut down.
00:12:58Yeah, it's the magic of Dave Portnoy.
00:13:00It's the magic of Barstool.
00:13:01He's walking around all week with his Super Bowl rings on.
00:13:04It's so obnoxious.
00:13:06You know he's got to, like, this is going to be his pinky ring Super Bowl.
00:13:09So it does feel like a Dave day.
00:13:12The rings are insane.
00:13:13The rings.
00:13:14And we're like, oh, those replicas?
00:13:15He goes, no, they're real.
00:13:17Patriots win the Super Bowl, and Dave is with, like, Cardi B at the end, and they're just,
00:13:21like, cutting up, having, like, the best time ever.
00:13:23I can't imagine that, actually.
00:13:24Yeah.
00:13:25Yeah, chocolatey.
00:13:25Exactly.
00:13:26It's, like, the easiest thing to imagine.
00:13:28But maybe Sam Darnold can get it done.
00:13:30Sam Darnold.
00:13:31All right, coming up next, guys, we're going to start the dip competition.
00:13:34I'm going to head to the kitchen.
00:13:36So y'all got the show.
00:13:37No, you host from the kitchen.
00:13:39Go to the NFL Awards.
00:13:40Go to the Hall of Fame members last night.
00:13:42More Wake Up Barstool coming up next.
00:13:49All right, guys, this Friday, Wake Up Barstool Super Bowl party rolling right along, which
00:13:54means you guys got it, okay?
00:13:57We're going to talk NFL Awards here.
00:13:59Mikey, we're going to talk Hall of Fame class.
00:14:02Yes?
00:14:03Is that a question?
00:14:03Or are you waving goodbye?
00:14:05Okay, so I'm about to head to the kitchen, guys.
00:14:07I have approximately seven pounds of cheese.
00:14:11Various cheeses.
00:14:12I love cheese.
00:14:13Shout out cheese.
00:14:13That have been melted in a crock pot for the last hour and a half.
00:14:17Hopefully when I get there, they're going to be melted.
00:14:20I'm going to cook up some sausage, cook up some bacon.
00:14:22We're going to throw that in there.
00:14:23But yeah, you guys, take it away.
00:14:25See you, dude.
00:14:26Mikey, you want to play host?
00:14:27No, no, no.
00:14:27I got it.
00:14:28Keith, you host?
00:14:28All right, I'll host.
00:14:29I'll host.
00:14:30Okay, okay, okay.
00:14:31I can't do it.
00:14:31I'm not allowed.
00:14:31So there we go, guys.
00:14:32Start with the NFL MVP.
00:14:34Work your way from there.
00:14:35And hey, before, because I want to be clear about this point to all Packers fans.
00:14:39Fact of the day, Drew Brees is in the Hall of Fame.
00:14:42Aaron Rodgers is not.
00:14:43Think about that, Jeremy.
00:14:45Sick, dude.
00:14:46All right, dude.
00:14:47We'll see you later.
00:14:47Hey, thanks for coming in.
00:14:49Shout out to you, Bob.
00:14:50Have a great day.
00:14:50You made it 18 minutes as the host today.
00:14:52Yeah, thanks, dude.
00:14:53Here we go.
00:14:54Wally Pipp time.
00:14:55NFL awards.
00:14:56Yeah.
00:14:56Big one.
00:14:57MVP.
00:14:57Matthew.
00:14:58I did not know it was going to be that close.
00:14:59One vote.
00:15:00One vote.
00:15:01So Matthew Stafford finished with 24 votes.
00:15:03Drake made 23.
00:15:04Kadek, what were your thoughts on that?
00:15:06Well, like I said, I didn't think it was going to be that close.
00:15:08I think Matthew Stafford was like the favorite for like, what, four or five weeks?
00:15:12Yep.
00:15:14But shout out.
00:15:15I mean, he had an unbelievable season.
00:15:16I loved his acceptance speech with his daughters up there.
00:15:18Yeah.
00:15:19No, he balled out.
00:15:20I mean, he had some great weapons around him, an offensive line that was, I mean, good.
00:15:26Good at times.
00:15:28Coleman Shelton.
00:15:29Yeah.
00:15:29Former pair.
00:15:30They just, I just think Drake May, like, there's just a lot of people would have been more pissed
00:15:36if he won it than if Stafford, you know what I'm saying?
00:15:39Like there's like this, I don't know.
00:15:41It feels like one of those things where it's like it's the shiny new toy, always gets a lot
00:15:45of love, and Drake May had an awesome year.
00:15:47The Patriots had, you know, 10 extra wins this year.
00:15:51They're one of the bottom teams in the league last year his rookie year.
00:15:54So when you have that type of growth, you get a lot of love.
00:15:58To me, it was always Matthew Stafford.
00:16:00Yeah.
00:16:00Like that, he is, he is that old grizzled guy.
00:16:0317 years in the league.
00:16:05Insane.
00:16:05Yeah, Drake May, I feel like, is like recency bias.
00:16:08That's, I mean, that's, I feel like, the only thing that could be.
00:16:11Yeah.
00:16:12Look at Matt Stafford.
00:16:13He's been there.
00:16:13He's done it.
00:16:14He is the vet.
00:16:15He was the best quarterback as far as statistically and going back this year in the playoffs.
00:16:21Like, yeah.
00:16:22Yeah.
00:16:23His numbers were objectively better.
00:16:25The Rams as a team, I thought, were objectively better in the regular season.
00:16:28They played a much harder schedule.
00:16:29The NFC West was insane this year.
00:16:32The NFC just in general was much better than the AFC this year.
00:16:35Yeah.
00:16:35I would agree with that.
00:16:37But what do we have next on that list?
00:16:41Let's see where T-Bob is.
00:16:42What's up, guys?
00:16:43I'm in the kitchen.
00:16:44Okay.
00:16:44Check it out.
00:16:45This is not as melted as I want it to be thus far.
00:16:48That was my concern, T-Bob.
00:16:51We're good to go.
00:16:51It's going to melt.
00:16:52It's going to keep melting.
00:16:53We're getting pretty close here.
00:16:54Give it a stir.
00:16:55Give that cheese a stir.
00:16:56Yeah, let's hear it.
00:16:57Here.
00:16:57We'll check it out.
00:16:58Look, here we go.
00:16:58So we have a block of white cheddar, a block of yellow cheddar.
00:17:02We've got a block of queso fresco in here.
00:17:05We've got a block of cream cheese in here.
00:17:07We've got a block of pepper jack in here.
00:17:10We have a can of Rotel.
00:17:11We've got corn.
00:17:13That actually looks great.
00:17:14Now we're going to fry up some sausage, drain it, dump it in there, get some crispy bacon in there,
00:17:20some jalapenos, and then we'll be good to go.
00:17:25T-Bob, what time did you wake up this morning for this prep?
00:17:27Did you get here extra early today?
00:17:29No, I got here at my same time.
00:17:30What I did do, though, Chief, it's a great question, is I sacrificed any and all show prep that I would normally do.
00:17:37Well, you knew you weren't going to host anymore.
00:17:39Yeah, exactly.
00:17:40I knew my time was out.
00:17:41We're completely flying blind here.
00:17:43I've got to figure out.
00:17:43Mikey, how did you light this earlier?
00:17:45You've got to cock it way left.
00:17:49Oh, God.
00:17:50Oh, there goes his eyebrows.
00:17:52There goes the eyebrows.
00:17:53And this is why no one is familiar with the kitchen.
00:17:56Yeah.
00:17:56Because you guys are a liability in that kitchen.
00:18:00No, I know my way around the kitchen, Megan.
00:18:02I cook all the time.
00:18:03I'm not going to take this, okay?
00:18:04I'm a man who loves the kitchen.
00:18:06That's why my shirts always have stains on them.
00:18:07Yeah, great spiel, dude.
00:18:08All right, we'll check in with you in a little bit, dude, all right?
00:18:10I'm a cream cheese fan.
00:18:12I also will say dips, for as good as they are, aesthetically, usually look really gross.
00:18:18That's how you, they're not good unless they look gross.
00:18:21Yeah.
00:18:21Dips, dips, dips are up there, like, probably in my top, like, as a category, my top five
00:18:27of foods, I think.
00:18:29Like, foods in general?
00:18:31I mean, I know it's an appetizer, but.
00:18:33Bro, melted cheese.
00:18:33Well, there's so many things you can do with dips.
00:18:35There's so many different vehicles you can use to get the dip into your mouth.
00:18:39One of my personal favorites, me and T-Bob talked about it, fried bowtie noodles, deep
00:18:44fried bowtie noodles.
00:18:45Really?
00:18:46What?
00:18:46Dipping them in spinach artichoke dip, especially if there's a little crab in it.
00:18:49Oh, my God, it will change.
00:18:50You might have just unlocked something new for me.
00:18:51Wait, you put crab in spinach artichoke?
00:18:53Oh, my God, it's so good, Katie.
00:18:54It's got to be a little bit.
00:18:55Like, lump blue crab meat.
00:18:57Oh, down there we put, like, crab, crawfish, shrimp, and everything that we can.
00:19:01Yeah.
00:19:03All right.
00:19:04Anyways.
00:19:05Anyways.
00:19:05Back to the football.
00:19:07We've got to get back on track.
00:19:07Offers player of the year, Jackson Smith and Jigba.
00:19:09I thought this was a no-brainer.
00:19:11Yeah.
00:19:11He's so dynamic.
00:19:13Where did he go in the draft?
00:19:14Because I feel like he fell to, like, the teens.
00:19:16Yeah, I think so.
00:19:18Was that with Marvin Harrison?
00:19:20No, he was the year before.
00:19:22He was the year before.
00:19:23Marvin was the year before Jackson?
00:19:24No, JSN was before him.
00:19:25Oh.
00:19:26And then, but only receiver, what, to average over 100 yards a game?
00:19:30Dude, he's everywhere.
00:19:31He's everywhere, and he comes down.
00:19:33He's, his route running's unbelievable.
00:19:35Yeah.
00:19:35I got to take.
00:19:36His contested catch ability is unbelievable.
00:19:38It's just, he's, he, by far, he was the best offensive player.
00:19:43I mean, other than Stafford, but.
00:19:44Yeah.
00:19:44Just truly unbelievable.
00:19:46Well, and he makes them go.
00:19:47Yes.
00:19:47You know, and it's like, Sam Darnold had a great year.
00:19:49I'm surprised he didn't get any MVP love.
00:19:51Yeah.
00:19:52But, maybe that's coming.
00:19:53This is the 14 interceptions, probably.
00:19:55That, that does hurt.
00:19:56But he's just, he's uncoverable.
00:19:58Yeah.
00:19:58And it's like, the first thing we talk about, we leave the show, is like, what do you do about
00:20:02JSN?
00:20:02Yeah.
00:20:02Because he is so dynamic.
00:20:04Yeah, he's nuts.
00:20:06And then, Defensive Player of the Year.
00:20:09Obviously.
00:20:09You break the sack record.
00:20:11Yep.
00:20:11You break the sack record, you're going to get that.
00:20:13So, credit to him.
00:20:15I love the stat about how, broke it with a brown just, never had a lead.
00:20:19Yeah.
00:20:19So, teams were actively trying to run out.
00:20:21Oh, and then we were talking about Shelby Harris.
00:20:23Here's the deal, guys.
00:20:24Hey.
00:20:24Come and get, what are you, are y'all messing with me?
00:20:27What's going on?
00:20:27Can y'all hear me or not?
00:20:28You're messing with me.
00:20:28Look.
00:20:29Oh, we can hear you.
00:20:29We just were ignoring you.
00:20:30Yeah.
00:20:31That's what I thought.
00:20:32That's crazy.
00:20:32Oh, did you have any, did you have any input?
00:20:34You got thoughts on JSN?
00:20:35I leave the room for one second and y'all just don't even want to talk to me anymore?
00:20:38Do you have any input, sir?
00:20:39Yes, I do.
00:20:40Here's, here's one thing.
00:20:41I have one take on that.
00:20:43We should just rename MVP to best quarterback.
00:20:46Because we do this every single year.
00:20:49Another position has a record-breaking year and they can never achieve anything higher
00:20:53than offensive player of the year.
00:20:55I don't mean that as a negative.
00:20:56I get it.
00:20:57It's how football works.
00:20:58The quarterback's the queen on the chess table.
00:21:00It is by far the most important position in all of sports.
00:21:04Maybe up there with like a pitcher or something, but they don't play every day.
00:21:06So, yeah, whatever.
00:21:07But, like, nobody stands a chance.
00:21:10Miles Garrett broke the sack record.
00:21:12Well, being double-teamed 40% of the time and didn't sniff MVP.
00:21:17But Chief has a good point.
00:21:19Did you not listen?
00:21:20No, I didn't.
00:21:20Yeah, let's know.
00:21:22When was the last time a non-quarterback won it?
00:21:24I feel like I remember Sean Alexander in 2005, but that's the only one that's popping into
00:21:28my head.
00:21:29I don't even know.
00:21:29Yeah.
00:21:30So, it is a quarterback award, but the quarterback is, like you said, T-Bob, the queen on the chess
00:21:34board, the most valuable piece.
00:21:35So, if you are the most valuable piece and you're the best at that position, you're going
00:21:39to get it every time.
00:21:40I agree.
00:21:41I agree.
00:21:42And so, I don't have a problem with that as long as we acknowledge what it actually
00:21:45is.
00:21:45Yeah.
00:21:46But, like, the best season of football that was had this year was Miles Garrett.
00:21:51Without a doubt.
00:21:52But how can you be so valuable on a team that's so terrible?
00:21:56So, what?
00:21:57He got him to maybe an extra win?
00:21:59Yeah.
00:22:00Who cares?
00:22:01It's the Browns that makes this season even more impressive.
00:22:04But it's valuable.
00:22:06He's overcoming decades of institutional and systemic problems.
00:22:09All right.
00:22:10Can we talk about the other side of the ball?
00:22:12The offensive line?
00:22:13Yeah.
00:22:13Before we talk about that, I just want to throw out there, I also think that JSN having the
00:22:19three, like, you know, the alliteration, like, with the name, I think it's so cool.
00:22:23I think it makes him so much better, too.
00:22:25Built-in nickname.
00:22:25All right, tell me about Joe Tooney, Protector of the Year, my guy, Bears guy.
00:22:30Dude, I love this award so much.
00:22:32And shout-out Deion Dawkins for, you know, starting this award.
00:22:35I think this is a long overdue.
00:22:37Yeah.
00:22:37I think this should have been an award a long time.
00:22:39I mean, the college has the Joe Moore Award for the whole offensive line unit.
00:22:44But this is very cool.
00:22:45Joe Tooney, obviously unbelievable player with the Chiefs, now with the Bears.
00:22:50I just love watching him.
00:22:51And it's hard, like, you'd think a tackle would win this award.
00:22:54Yeah.
00:22:55Like, just because tackles get, you know, the highest paid.
00:22:57They go up against the defensive best player.
00:23:00But seeing an interior guy win this fires me up so much, being an interior guy.
00:23:05But everything he does, leadership, the way he, you know, he can handle the best interior
00:23:11defensive lineman on the defense.
00:23:14And he works so well with his tackle, with his guard, combination blocks.
00:23:17And, you know, it's not only, I know it's protector of the year, but the way he's in
00:23:23the run game as well is unbelievable.
00:23:25I think he's just such a well-rounded offensive lineman.
00:23:29And he'll be a first ballot Hall of Famer.
00:23:31He's unbelievable.
00:23:31And he makes everyone better.
00:23:33Exactly.
00:23:33He makes everyone better around him.
00:23:35You look at the Bears offensive line last year, absolute disaster.
00:23:39Disaster.
00:23:40Disaster.
00:23:40And they had a rookie left tackle for the most part.
00:23:44And it's, I mean, you could speak to this, where it's just like, hey, like, I got you
00:23:49inside.
00:23:49You can communicate with that guy.
00:23:51All right.
00:23:51Let's see.
00:23:52And so, Joe Tooney, well-deserving.
00:23:54T-Bob, how's it going in there?
00:23:57All right.
00:23:58And, like, I think y'all made a lot of great points there on Tooney.
00:24:01Look, the guy's a certified winner, right?
00:24:03Two Super Bowls with the Patriots.
00:24:04Goes to the Chiefs.
00:24:05Two Super Bowls with the Bears.
00:24:06Goes to the Bears.
00:24:07All of a sudden, they're winning playoff games.
00:24:10They win the North.
00:24:11Bears' future, very bright.
00:24:12Two Super Bowls coming with the Bears.
00:24:14Shut up to the NFL's first protective year.
00:24:16All right.
00:24:16Right here.
00:24:17Come here.
00:24:17Come here.
00:24:17We can't get a shot at this.
00:24:18Okay.
00:24:18This is our breakfast sausage, guys.
00:24:20I love that.
00:24:21Our spicy breakfast sausage is about to get dropped in there.
00:24:23We chopped up some jalapenos right here.
00:24:25We still got to cook that bacon.
00:24:27Coming up next, though, I was so pleased.
00:24:30I got to sit down with Levante David yesterday, another Super Bowl champion.
00:24:34One of the best to ever do it.
00:24:36A top ten tackler in NFL history.
00:24:38That's next year on Wake Up Barstool.
00:24:39Don't go anywhere.
00:24:40This smells amazing, guys.
00:24:42Oh, my God.
00:24:43All right.
00:24:44Oh, yeah.
00:24:44Don't go anywhere.
00:24:45More Wub next.
00:24:52Another day and another incredibly exciting opportunity to interview someone that I've
00:24:57been watching and been a fan of or suffered at the hands of for a very long time.
00:25:02And that is Tampa Bay Bucs legend Levante David.
00:25:06David just wrapped up year number 14, top ten tackler in NFL history, three-time All-Pro.
00:25:12You see the Lombardi back there, Super Bowl champion.
00:25:14Levante, what's up, man?
00:25:15Thank you so much for joining us this morning.
00:25:18Good morning.
00:25:18Good morning.
00:25:19I appreciate you for having me, man.
00:25:20So, I mentioned year 14, and I'm your age.
00:25:25I'm about to be 37 here in a couple days.
00:25:27I cannot fathom still playing football at this point in my life.
00:25:31And not only are you still playing it, you're still kicking ass.
00:25:33I want to start here.
00:25:34When it comes to this league, where every single year the front office is trying to replace
00:25:42you with someone cheaper, younger, better, faster, all those things, how in the world
00:25:47have you not just made it 14 years in the league, but what do you think has been the
00:25:49key to staying with the same team that entire time?
00:25:53I would say, man, just being able to compete and always put my best foot forward.
00:25:57You know, each year, always come in with the mentality that I'm a rookie all over again.
00:26:01So, I just come in with that mindset of just grind, grind, grind, and just trying to earn
00:26:05everybody's respect.
00:26:07And I think that's something that kept me going, you know, just being able to compete
00:26:10with the younger guys and the organization, you know, being there for 14 years, you know,
00:26:16they saw something good in me.
00:26:17So, I was just doing, just being disciplined, staying consistent, and it got me to where I'm
00:26:21at right now.
00:26:23And, you know, thank God every day for these moments, for these opportunities, but it's just
00:26:27the competitive nature in me to be able to go out there and still try to play at a high
00:26:31level with the young guys, even though knowing in the back of my mind, they're trying to
00:26:34replace, you know, they're trying to replace you as older you get.
00:26:38So, definitely have that in the back of my mind all the time.
00:26:40Do they call you Unk in the locker room now?
00:26:43Oh, I'm number one Unk all day, man.
00:26:45I don't even think people call me by my name no more.
00:26:48I'm always Unk now.
00:26:49Yeah, look, you're the wise old gray beard, man.
00:26:53You've seen everything that these guys could ever ask you about.
00:26:55I want to talk about this year specifically, maybe about you individually first and then get
00:26:59to the team.
00:27:01I know that you've done some interviews recently where you kind of talked about this was a bit
00:27:05of a rough year for you, dealt with some injuries, kind of made it tougher than maybe in some
00:27:11ways, presented some new challenges for you.
00:27:14Where's your head at personally going forward with football?
00:27:17Have you been able to reflect on any of this?
00:27:19I haven't really reflected on it, but, you know, those injuries that you speak of, it's
00:27:24just something that, you know, when you don't have an aching injury or a neck injury your
00:27:28whole career and then all of a sudden there's something that's kind of like bothering you
00:27:32on your 14th year.
00:27:34And, you know, a lot of times, you know, when you get that, get to 14 years, you slow down
00:27:38in a lot of areas.
00:27:39You know, ability is the main thing that keeps you going.
00:27:42And then with the injury kind of like hemorrhaging my ability, it's kind of like bothering me
00:27:45a little bit because every time I'm out there on the field, I expect to be the best and
00:27:49they expect me to be my best.
00:27:51And when I'm going out there thinking about, you know, a certain injury is kind of like
00:27:54now allowing me to play freely and do what I do.
00:27:57So, you know, I'm not making that an excuse or anything, but it definitely was something
00:28:01that I had to deal with personally.
00:28:03Yeah.
00:28:03But I still was able to accomplish some things that I wanted to accomplish on the field.
00:28:07So once I get that taken care of and, you know, I'll be able to, you know, feel
00:28:12like how I want to feel, I'll make a decision if I want to, you know, come back
00:28:15or not.
00:28:16Yeah.
00:28:17I mean, I should mention too, the mental, physical, toughness, unparalleled guys, not
00:28:20just 14 years league has played in at least 12 games every single year in those 14 leagues.
00:28:25So Levante's been out there on the field week in, week out battling in the toughest
00:28:29physical league we got on the planet with the team this year, man, hot start, right?
00:28:35Everybody's so excited.
00:28:36We're pumping up the box talking Baker Mayfield MVP and it, and it, and it kind of fell apart.
00:28:41What, um, take us through being in that locker room, your leader, what was your message?
00:28:47How did y'all process what became kind of a disappointing end?
00:28:51Uh, just got to weather the storm, man, weather the storm.
00:28:54Um, you know, like you said, man, we got to a hot start, got a lot of rays, you know, uh,
00:28:59getting a lot of passing on our back.
00:29:00Um, not saying that those things got to us, I don't believe it did, but, you know, just
00:29:06the dynamic of football with the injuries piling up and you plugging and playing different
00:29:10guys and, and guys learning, uh, different positions and guys getting comfortable in
00:29:14one role and getting flushed in a, in a different role and things like that.
00:29:18It's kind of, it's kind of hard.
00:29:19So like, you know, everything's going smooth and I know where everything just hits you real
00:29:23hard.
00:29:24You know what I'm saying?
00:29:24And, uh, we missed, you know, Mike for a while, we missed, you know, uh, Chris for
00:29:29a while.
00:29:29We missed some key offensive linemen and, uh, Baker were dealing with his things.
00:29:33And then, uh, on defensive side, you know, the rotation at the DB position, everybody,
00:29:38you know, getting in and out.
00:29:39And then, uh, we lost one of our biggest guys in the collage of Kansas in a year.
00:29:43So that was kind of really huge, but like I said, man, it's not an excuse, you know, but
00:29:48you know, those things, when you go into training camp, you have those guys around, you consistently
00:29:52you kind of build this camaraderie and you build this confidence and you got different
00:29:56guys coming in and kind of like not, you know, fully filling up roles of those guys.
00:30:03And it's just, you know, going and plugging and play type thing.
00:30:06But, uh, you know, that kind of like can, can, can be, you know, guys who not really used
00:30:10to playing so much football is kind of be, can be tough, but, uh, you know, um, but not
00:30:16just football, man.
00:30:16You just gotta be prepared.
00:30:17You gotta be ready.
00:30:18It was unfortunate, man.
00:30:19And it's a very, very tough to deal with being a part of that, you know, but, um, I love
00:30:25that team, man.
00:30:25There's a resilient bunch of group, resilient group of guys and nobody, what I really love
00:30:29and nobody was pointing the finger at nobody.
00:30:31Everybody was just like, we just got to find a way to get better individually and as it's
00:30:34football team.
00:30:35So that's what I love about those guys.
00:30:37And, uh, was able to, you know, still have a chance to fight for the playoffs.
00:30:41Unfortunately, we didn't get it, but the fight was always still there.
00:30:44The leadership was still there, you know, especially with the coaching staff, uh, with bowls, you
00:30:48know, he kept everybody, you know, level-headed and, uh, we had to figure it out.
00:30:52Well, and, and, and, you know, I think it's important that you mentioned leadership because
00:30:56obviously that's something that you are to that team and you don't achieve unk status,
00:31:00uh, without really experiencing damn near everything this league has to offer.
00:31:05And we see the Lombardi trophy behind you.
00:31:08It's Superbowl week right now.
00:31:09Let's get to some happier memories.
00:31:11Levante, what, uh, what memory stands out, uh, from that, your Superbowl experience winning
00:31:17that game, is there any moment in the anecdote that really just stands out in your mind that
00:31:22you want to tell us about?
00:31:23Oh, man, the thing that really stands out is just leading up to that week.
00:31:26We've been leading up to the game, just the week of, you know, we, we practicing across
00:31:30the field from the stadium and we practicing our home field, home practice stadium.
00:31:34So we kind of like see everything again, put up and things like that.
00:31:37So the motivation is being built, you know, and the confidence is just, you know, it was,
00:31:41it was crazy for, for us to be able to be the first team to do that.
00:31:45And then, you know, uh, just walking to the stadium, I just remember like everything just
00:31:50seemed better after playing in the stadium for eight, eight, nine games, walking the
00:31:56stadium like, oh, no, this is not our stadium.
00:31:58The lights was brighter.
00:31:59The grass looked way better.
00:32:00So, you know, that was kind of like stuff that I kind of stood out to me.
00:32:03And then the pregame locker room spreech, man, um, Tom Brady, you know, kind of gave us
00:32:07a, a really good speech that's going to, going to hit home and last forever for a lot
00:32:12of us, uh, talk all year, but, uh, this particular game, you know, obviously, you
00:32:16know, he's been there, he know what it takes and he said some, uh, good words or
00:32:20some encouraging words and, uh, it definitely instilled a lot of confidence in us that
00:32:23we have already.
00:32:24So that's kind of interesting.
00:32:25So Tom wasn't a big talker all year, wasn't a big pregame speech guy.
00:32:29And then at the ultimate moment, he roused the troops.
00:32:32Yeah.
00:32:33At the ultimate moment, he put everybody up and we like, whoa, like, okay, everybody get
00:32:37together and then he had to say what he had to say, and then you could just feel the tension
00:32:41in the room.
00:32:41Like everybody just ready to go.
00:32:43Like we're ready to get out there and go play.
00:32:45And, you know, that's something that I love.
00:32:47And then obviously, you know, once we won the game and me, you know, celebrating my family,
00:32:51uh, hugging my dad for him to, you know, be able to be there with me through that journey.
00:32:55It was an incredible feeling.
00:32:57Uh, yeah.
00:32:57I mean, it's the pinnacle, man.
00:32:58It's, it's everything that you spend your entire life playing for you've, you've gotten to the
00:33:02mountaintop.
00:33:03I want to ask you real quick about not Tom, but the experience that he brought with him
00:33:08because you look at this Patriots franchise, Vrabel brings experience, definitely a lot
00:33:13of behind the scenes people.
00:33:14They're going to bring experience.
00:33:16You look over at the Seahawks behind the scenes, people, some would still be there.
00:33:20Cooper cup would obviously bring some of this game.
00:33:22How important do you think it is to have elements of your team that have been there before?
00:33:27Like, did you notice any advantages, uh, because of the experience that Tom had in this
00:33:32game?
00:33:32Yeah, for sure.
00:33:33I think it just, you know, being level-headed and staying poised, you know, uh, not making
00:33:38the moment bigger than what it really is, which is just, it's another football game that we
00:33:41go out, got to go out there and play and win.
00:33:44And, you know, sometimes some people may be getting, you know, extremely too hyped up
00:33:47than usual, uh, just because of, you know, the dynamic of everything.
00:33:50Like I said, man, like the grass was different.
00:33:52The, the, the lights was brighter.
00:33:54That kind of could have, could have distracted me a little bit, but, you know, Tom was there because
00:33:58of that experience, kind of like setting everybody down and made it and reminded everybody,
00:34:01hey, man, this is another football game.
00:34:03We got to go out there and do our part to win the game.
00:34:06And, you know, that's just something that, you know, those veteran guys, you know, bring
00:34:09along.
00:34:10Like, like you said, man, Cooper Cup was a Super Bowl experienced guy, won Super Bowl MVP.
00:34:15So he knows what it takes.
00:34:16And then on the Patriots side, like you said, uh, Vrabu and then my boy, Carter Davies over
00:34:20there as well.
00:34:20So they know what it takes to, you know, kind of like, you know, finish this moment and
00:34:24be able to, you know, go out there and seize the moment and do what you're supposed to do
00:34:27to get the W.
00:34:29Vontae, uh, you played both of the teams that are playing this year.
00:34:32So you're very experienced with both of them.
00:34:33And really, I'm sure this makes you happy.
00:34:36Uh, some ways is that it's all about defense, right?
00:34:39I mean, this is a game that looks like it's going to be the defensive side of the ball that,
00:34:44uh, is going to decide the outcome.
00:34:45Um, let's start with Seattle's defense.
00:34:48A lot of call them the best defense in the entire league.
00:34:50What is it that Seattle is doing that is able to make them so effective?
00:34:54You know, um, for me, I got a chance to watch both of these defense because, you know, they
00:34:58play both teams, played our whole division is just, so we got a chance to watch a lot
00:35:02of.
00:35:02Well, that's true.
00:35:02So you spent a lot of time in the film room breaking that.
00:35:04Exactly.
00:35:04Yeah.
00:35:05So, uh, um, watching Seattle, man, just, they, uh, they, they violent.
00:35:09I love the way they play, you know, they play as a unit.
00:35:12You know what I'm saying?
00:35:12There's no guy that's bigger than the other.
00:35:14Everybody plays together.
00:35:15And everybody does their job.
00:35:17And that's what I really love about it.
00:35:18You know, they violent, they create turnovers and everybody's attacking the football and
00:35:22attacking the ball carrier.
00:35:24And on the pitch side, everybody just fundamentally and assignment sound, which is what I love
00:35:28and respect.
00:35:29Everybody has their role and everybody's doing their job.
00:35:32And, uh, that's something that I really like to see.
00:35:34It's not, it's not fancy.
00:35:36It's not, it don't look pretty, but everybody's doing what it's supposed to do.
00:35:39And good things happen.
00:35:40You know, nobody's making mistakes.
00:35:41They making teams beat them.
00:35:43And so far, you know, it hasn't happened.
00:35:45Well, and, and so that, that's your, that, that you get into watch the defenses, but
00:35:49obviously you game planned for these offenses.
00:35:52You went head to head to them.
00:35:53So much talk about the quarterback.
00:35:55Cause it's always is.
00:35:55It's football, right?
00:35:56Uh, give it, give us some, your scouting reporter, kind of Sam Darnold, Drake, man,
00:36:01what they're bringing to bear.
00:36:02Oh, well, Sam Darnold, man.
00:36:03He's doing a great job of getting the ball out of his hands and making his correct reads.
00:36:06You know what I'm saying?
00:36:07He got Kuba Cup, uh, JSN out there.
00:36:10And, uh, and, uh, Kenan Walker is playing really good right now throughout the playoffs.
00:36:13Uh, somebody who they're leaning on heavily because of, uh, they back, the other running
00:36:17back ended up being hurt.
00:36:18So they had to lean on Kenan Walker big time and just, you know, him throwing the ball out
00:36:22the backfield or whatever the case may be.
00:36:24But with Sam Darnold, man, he just, uh, you know, doing what he's supposed to do, you
00:36:28know, take care of the football and let his defense win them football games, take advantage
00:36:31of opportunities and talk about Drake May, you know, he's a young guy, you know, he lean
00:36:36on his veterans, you know what I'm saying?
00:36:37He got a veteran group.
00:36:39They got a solid young run game.
00:36:41And I think the coaching staff for the Patriots is doing a really good job of just, you know,
00:36:45uh, dialing up players for him to make, you know, the, the right decisions and stuff
00:36:49like, stuff like that.
00:36:50So, you know, keep the run game involved for sure.
00:36:53But, uh, Drake May is doing a great job of just, you know, using his feet, his athleticism
00:36:57too, as well.
00:36:58And, um, that would be, that's sometimes that's going to, you know, put a huge part in these
00:37:02type of games.
00:37:03Uh, LeVante, I think this could be kind of a complicated question because I don't know,
00:37:08just watching football, bring a lot of emotion with you because you were just here, you're
00:37:11trying to get here.
00:37:11Like, are you, what are your plans for Sunday?
00:37:13Are you going to watch the game?
00:37:14Super Bowl party family?
00:37:15What's the deal?
00:37:16Yeah, I'm going to watch the game, man.
00:37:17Um, um, I hope something at my house, you know, uh, you know, um, have a little
00:37:23something going on in my backyard and vote and invite family and friends.
00:37:25I'm going to take my trophy out there and I'm going to wear my Super Bowl hat.
00:37:29You're going to wait.
00:37:30You're going to host a Super Bowl party and carry the Lombardi around the Super Bowl party.
00:37:35Yeah, I got to, I got to let everybody know I've been there before.
00:37:37So when I talk about the game, let them know my opinion matters.
00:37:41That is fantastic.
00:37:43Hey, real quick, before I let you go.
00:37:45Yeah.
00:37:45Is Nebraska going to figure it out, man?
00:37:47What's going on?
00:37:48Nebraska?
00:37:48Man, I got all the faith in the world in Nebraska, man.
00:37:51Nebraska is going to figure it out.
00:37:52I, I, I feel like, I feel like we're going to get 10 plus wins this year and we're probably
00:37:57going to compete for the Big Ten Championship this year.
00:38:00I looked at the schedule and it's not a, it's not a tough schedule.
00:38:03Everybody's on their beatable.
00:38:04And, you know, I know Matt Rule is up there cooking up some stuff, man.
00:38:09We didn't lose a lot of guys.
00:38:10We got a lot, like, we got some guys coming back.
00:38:12Obviously, we lost Dylan, but that's tough.
00:38:16But I'm sure they're going to unplug somebody and he'll be able to play and manage the game.
00:38:21And, you know, I got all the faith in the world of those guys.
00:38:24I think they're going to get it done, finally.
00:38:27Well, Levante, like I said, man, I've, I've watched you for years again.
00:38:30I've been a Saints fan, so I've suffered at your hands for years.
00:38:33But you are one of the best players I've ever seen, out there every single day,
00:38:37kicking ass, violent, leading the boys.
00:38:3914 years, guys.
00:38:40Three-time All-Pro Super Bowl champ.
00:38:42Levante, thank you so much, man.
00:38:44Appreciate you, man.
00:38:45God bless, bro.
00:38:46God bless you as well.
00:38:47Have a great Sunday, dude.
00:38:48What if Super Bowl party plays?
00:38:49Yes, sir.
00:38:49It's going to be fun.
00:38:50Carrying the Lombardi around.
00:38:51Oh, my God.
00:38:52Okay.
00:38:52We got more Wake Up bars on the other side.
00:38:54Don't go anywhere, guys.
00:39:00What's up, guys?
00:39:01Welcome back to Wake Up Barstool.
00:39:03I'm out in the kitchen.
00:39:04I'm back in the studio.
00:39:05And it means it's hot to head to the corner.
00:39:09Oh, wait.
00:39:09Megan, you're at the big screen.
00:39:11I am at the big screen.
00:39:12Oh, okay.
00:39:12Take it away.
00:39:13Let's go.
00:39:14There are some fun facts.
00:39:15Obviously, people out there that have been following football for a long time might know
00:39:19all of these facts.
00:39:21But if you're newer to football, if you don't really pay attention to teams that aren't yours,
00:39:25fun facts.
00:39:26First Super Bowl meeting between these teams was decided by Malcolm Butler's interception
00:39:31on the one when the Seahawks were down four points with 20 seconds left.
00:39:36Obviously, we all remember this game.
00:39:38Yeah.
00:39:38The beast mode.
00:39:39Just hand beast mode the ball.
00:39:41Look at that thing, Megan.
00:39:42I see you.
00:39:42Four points, 20 seconds.
00:39:44Get it, bro?
00:39:45Get it?
00:39:46All right.
00:39:46Next fun fact.
00:39:47Slide up.
00:39:48Sam Darnold is looking to be the first player to win a Super Bowl after playing for five
00:39:53different teams.
00:39:53See, right there.
00:39:54Again, fun fact.
00:39:55That's why you got to cheer for Sam Darnold.
00:39:57Sam Darnold.
00:39:58Next.
00:39:59Go ahead.
00:40:01All right.
00:40:01Patriots are the first team in history to reach a Super Bowl following a 13-season loss.
00:40:07Oh, great.
00:40:08I'm so happy for them.
00:40:09Again.
00:40:09They had the most historical turnaround in NFL history.
00:40:12Some people might know this.
00:40:13Some people might not.
00:40:14Let's go to the next one.
00:40:15Great.
00:40:15Only the sixth time in history two teams have made the Super Bowl after missing the playoffs
00:40:20the year before.
00:40:21Okay.
00:40:21I love this.
00:40:22Let's go.
00:40:23Both teams didn't make it last year.
00:40:24They're here this year.
00:40:25Up next.
00:40:26See, Mikey, the Steelers have hope.
00:40:27And the Saints.
00:40:28Here we go.
00:40:29First Super Bowl where both coaches and quarterbacks are in their first or second season with their
00:40:34teams.
00:40:35Interesting fun fact.
00:40:36Next.
00:40:39Mike.
00:40:40Okay.
00:40:40Mike Vrabel could be the first head coach to win a Super Bowl as a player and head
00:40:45coach for the same franchise.
00:40:48Okay.
00:40:49Hell yeah.
00:40:49Thank you, Megan.
00:40:50Look, I think I learned a couple interesting factoids there.
00:40:53Now, excuse me.
00:40:55I've messed this up.
00:40:56Now it is time, though, for the Money Corner.
00:40:58You said that you loved your props and you're going to start to give it to us here.
00:41:02Take it away.
00:41:03I can't do them here.
00:41:04Money Corner's in the corner, T-Bob.
00:41:06I screwed this all up.
00:41:07Get to the corner, man.
00:41:08Go right.
00:41:08Get to the corner.
00:41:09Go, go, go, go, go.
00:41:11All right, Meg.
00:41:16What we got this week, girl?
00:41:18All right.
00:41:18Let me go ahead and unlock the computer that ABP makes sure that I have very locked in.
00:41:26So let's go ahead and look at these props for the Super Bowl.
00:41:32First up, we're going to go under seven and a half first quarter.
00:41:36Obviously, we've been talking about these defenses for months.
00:41:40I know it's a first quarter bet, so it could be blown up in a second.
00:41:44However, you have both quarterbacks, as I just told you, the fun facts.
00:41:48First time these guys have been to a Super Bowl, I think they played conservatively enough
00:41:52in the first quarter to get out the jitters.
00:41:55And on the flip side, you have the defenses coming out full throttle, ready to take somebody's
00:42:00head off.
00:42:00So we're going to go under seven and a half for the first quarter.
00:42:03I love this.
00:42:04This feels like a classic game where maybe the offense is turning on very late after
00:42:09figuring out the defense.
00:42:10I agree with you, T-Bob.
00:42:11Up next, we're going to go ahead and take Leonard Williams over a quarter of a sack.
00:42:16That's plus 136.
00:42:19Again, going back to these amazing defenses, Williams is an absolute monster and has an elite rating
00:42:24as a D tackle.
00:42:25According to Pro Football Focus, he's either fourth or fifth ranked amongst all calls.
00:42:30If I'm D tackles.
00:42:31May has been sacked five times in every postseason game and a slightly leaky O-line there gives
00:42:37me some confidence in Williams over that quarter of a sack.
00:42:42All right.
00:42:42I love that.
00:42:43Up next, I'm calling my shot on this one.
00:42:45Plus 650.
00:42:46The guy, funnest name to say, Rahid Shahid.
00:42:50Go.
00:42:50He's going to have the longest reception of the game.
00:42:53We talked about JSN and how he's just an absolute monster.
00:42:58He's going to be covered.
00:42:58But don't forget about Shahid.
00:43:00I can see him just running the fastest vertical route of all time.
00:43:04Fun fact, faster than DK Metcalf and catching a bomb to go ahead and lock this one in.
00:43:10How appropriate that both of Rasheed's names rhyme with speed.
00:43:13Boom.
00:43:14And last up on the docket, we have Drake May under 30 and a half pass attempts.
00:43:21He has not gone over the number 29 in the entire postseason.
00:43:25He had 27 against the Texans and 21 against the Broncos.
00:43:28Well, he did go over this in eight out of the 17 games in the regular season.
00:43:32His average is 25.7 attempts per game.
00:43:35I know it's a Super Bowl.
00:43:36However, Drake May does not want to lose this game because of him and turnovers.
00:43:41And he also probably doesn't want to potentially lose that MVP of the Super Bowl if he messes
00:43:48up and the Patriots do win.
00:43:50So we're going to go under passing attempts for Drake May.
00:43:53I love this entire board.
00:43:55The Rasheed Shahid longer starts to be a plus 650 feels like the play.
00:43:58That's crazy.
00:43:59It feels like the play.
00:43:59It just takes one.
00:44:01And he almost always gets one.
00:44:02Megan, thank you so much.
00:44:04Money Corner's been on fire.
00:44:05Hour one of the books.
00:44:06Michael, you've done a terrible job in hour one.
00:44:09So here in hour two, we're going to start with K to crawl.
00:44:11We're going to give you a chance to redeem yourself.
00:44:12You know, weird fist fight.
00:44:15You're just untied my shoe.
00:44:16Hour two of Wake Up Barstool coming up next.
00:44:19Yeah, Chief.
00:44:20Here we go, Chief.
00:44:21Let's go.
00:44:21Let's go, baby.
00:44:22This is a struggle.
00:44:23We're having a hard time.
00:44:25We're having a hard time.
00:44:25Mikey said, oh, we're not in the NFL.
00:44:36We're not good enough.
00:44:37I don't know, Mikey.
00:44:37Look at this play.
00:44:39Shout out, TJ.
00:44:40I'm sorry, brother.
00:44:41But flag football championships.
00:44:42When the train's coming down the tracks, you best get off it, buddy.
00:44:46Love you, TJ.
00:44:48And then look, this is Chief right here, right?
00:44:50That's Jake Malicek.
00:44:50Oh, that's big.
00:44:51Okay, that's somebody.
00:44:52I think that's Jake Malicek.
00:44:53They're going to clear out.
00:44:54They're going to clear out.
00:44:54No, Malicek was on the white team.
00:44:55We're going to get all the defense thinking we're going over here only.
00:44:59Wait a second.
00:44:59What's that?
00:45:00Mikey leading the way.
00:45:02Look how square he is, guys.
00:45:04Great base.
00:45:05You get the big man in space.
00:45:06He doesn't give a damn.
00:45:07He's comfortable.
00:45:09Great base.
00:45:10Hands ready to fire.
00:45:11He latches on to teach.
00:45:12Get you two.
00:45:13Sit him down.
00:45:14Touchdown.
00:45:15Help him up.
00:45:16Help him up.
00:45:16Help him up.
00:45:17Team Big Cat.
00:45:17Look at that.
00:45:18Would you help up in a real game, though?
00:45:19No, right?
00:45:20I'd run my balls right over him.
00:45:24I feel like TJ was seeing stars already.
00:45:28Look, he's already terrified.
00:45:30You can see it.
00:45:30He's already terrified.
00:45:31He knows what's coming.
00:45:33Oh, he doesn't want any part of it.
00:45:34So I knew right here.
00:45:36I'm like, all right, I have TJ with one arm.
00:45:39So might as well stick another one out for Danny Conrad.
00:45:43Get yourself two, big man.
00:45:45Oh, no.
00:45:46Teej.
00:45:47What happened?
00:45:48Sit down.
00:45:49Anthony Bradford style.
00:45:52Touchdown, Teej.
00:45:53Big Cat.
00:45:54Teej knows.
00:45:55Look at him.
00:45:55He's good to go.
00:45:56All right, guys.
00:45:56There it is.
00:45:57Your film breakdown.
00:45:59That's Cadence Crawlers.
00:46:00Now, let's check in with Chief.
00:46:02Head to the kitchen and see what he's got cooking up on the dip front.
00:46:06All right.
00:46:07We're making progress.
00:46:09The cheese is kind of melting.
00:46:10The dip looks gross.
00:46:11It might not be the right consistency.
00:46:14I'm also kind of offended that my Caleb Williams, Patrick Mahomes throw to win the game wasn't broken down right there.
00:46:20But I guess we'll save that for the next segment.
00:46:23Do we have it?
00:46:24Okay, let's get it.
00:46:25Can you throw it up?
00:46:26Can I use the telestrator on it?
00:46:28I don't think I've seen this.
00:46:30You haven't seen this?
00:46:31No.
00:46:32Okay, we'll get to it a bit later.
00:46:34Control is telling me, Chief.
00:46:35Hey, so what do we work with, Chief?
00:46:37Did you eventually get heat?
00:46:38For those that don't know.
00:46:39Yeah, we got heat.
00:46:41Your plan to sabotage my dip has been foiled.
00:46:46So we've added cheddar cheese, which was not on the recipe.
00:46:50We're using the Velveeta.
00:46:52We got green chilies, tomato, a little cayenne to spice it up for my Cajun people.
00:46:56Hell yeah, dude.
00:46:57And then we're going to add the sausage back in.
00:46:59And I think we're going to be okay.
00:47:01That looks fantastic.
00:47:02There's, Chief.
00:47:03This is the classic Dayton dip.
00:47:05Where does the Dayton come from here?
00:47:07Do we know why?
00:47:09Great guess, Megan.
00:47:10Dayton, Ohio.
00:47:11Okay, excellent.
00:47:12It's a Midwestern staple.
00:47:13This thing will clog your arteries, but it's delicious.
00:47:16Love it.
00:47:16Very similar to mine, which is just called cowboy crack.
00:47:20But all it is is cheese, bacon, sausage, rotel.
00:47:24I think I'm going to add a little Tony's Cajun kick to it.
00:47:26You might as well.
00:47:27A little less garlic.
00:47:28I will say, I have to go ahead and point this out.
00:47:31What?
00:47:32You used the campfire burner that had like the little butane or whatever it is.
00:47:38There is an electric stove that's, you know, on the counter that Chief is using.
00:47:43And then there's even a stove behind him.
00:47:45None of us are.
00:47:46Oh, we do have those flame stoves behind him.
00:47:48Yeah.
00:47:49Wait, Chief.
00:47:49How did you turn on that stove?
00:47:51Me and Katie could not figure it out this morning.
00:47:53We could not figure it out.
00:47:54Someone smarter than me in production figured it out.
00:47:57If I was on my own, we'd just be having slices of Velveeta.
00:48:00Hell yeah, dude.
00:48:00I think it's just a little touch.
00:48:01I'd still eat it.
00:48:02A little touch monitor on the top of it.
00:48:04Well, okay.
00:48:05We saw that, Megan.
00:48:07Where were you then before the show when me and Mikey were trying to figure it out?
00:48:10Like two big fat barbarians.
00:48:12I guess I need to get back in the kitchen.
00:48:14That's not what I'm saying.
00:48:15That's what you were saying.
00:48:16No, that's not at all what I'm saying.
00:48:17That's exactly right.
00:48:18I'm at, no, I advocated for Megan to be in the seat here.
00:48:21I advocated for her to be on the show.
00:48:22I'm an ally guy.
00:48:23Oh, so now you have to advocate for me to be on the show?
00:48:25I'm an ally guy.
00:48:26Yeah, production, you know.
00:48:27They just want to keep you there in the corner.
00:48:29That's a note.
00:48:30They're on center stage, dude.
00:48:32All right, Chief.
00:48:33So good luck with finishing your dip.
00:48:37I hope you learned a thing or two in Katie's problem.
00:48:40I'm a pro in the kitchen.
00:48:41This is just not my kitchen.
00:48:42I need home field to start.
00:48:43Yeah, right, right, right.
00:48:44Yeah, of course.
00:48:45That is actually something that I think the older you get, the more and more you appreciate
00:48:49is cooking in your own kitchen.
00:48:51Yeah.
00:48:52It's like you're on four and so.
00:48:53Which, again, that's what these teams are going to be doing, right?
00:48:56They're not in their home stadiums.
00:48:58Neutral site game here.
00:48:59But the Patriots, the first ever team to go 9-0 on the road in a single regular season.
00:49:05A lot's been made of that road, Warriors.
00:49:08Do you know that Seattle is 16-1 on the road over the last two years?
00:49:12Oh, my goodness.
00:49:13That's insane.
00:49:13Yeah.
00:49:13So you are talking about two teams that are as well-suited as any that we have ever seen
00:49:19to be handling a new environment, new everything, new halftime show, all of that.
00:49:25Both of these teams, I think, going to be dialed and locked in.
00:49:28Do we think the Seahawks have any type of advantage just because of the West Coast time zone?
00:49:34They get out there on, like, Monday.
00:49:37Yeah.
00:49:38I think, yeah.
00:49:39I think, first, I know that these teams have insane sleep doctor schedules ready to go.
00:49:45So, I mean, we even did that in college.
00:49:47And, you know, that was a long time ago where we would, like, make a sleep plan so that not
00:49:52only would you be adjusted to the time, but that your body would be peaking come kickoff
00:49:56time, that you would be at maximum physical and mental acumen.
00:50:01So they'll be fine there.
00:50:02And plus, when you're talking about the Patriots, something that we've talked to a lot with players
00:50:06that have played in the Super Bowl here is the kind of institutional knowledge that they
00:50:10have.
00:50:11Maybe a lot of new players, but a lot of the guys and the equipment staff behind the scenes,
00:50:15they've done these trips plenty of times before.
00:50:19And so they know how to manage wherever this game is going to be played.
00:50:23All right, guys, we're going to go ahead and go to break.
00:50:25When we get back, we got more NFL news coming your way.
00:50:28We got more cooking as well.
00:50:30Megan, I think it's almost time for you to get your ass to the kitchen.
00:50:33I would love to go get my ass to the kitchen, T-Bob.
00:50:36Get in there.
00:50:37Yes, sir.
00:50:37Woman.
00:50:38Just kidding.
00:50:39Just kidding, guys.
00:50:40Ouch.
00:50:41T-Bob, why would you hit me?
00:50:42That's not true.
00:50:43That's not true.
00:50:45What's happening, guys?
00:50:51Welcome back to Wake Up Barstool.
00:50:53Chief is back.
00:50:54And Megan, of your own volition and own decision, if you would like to make your way to the kitchen,
00:51:04that is up to you.
00:51:05I think that's a great idea, T-Bob.
00:51:06Okay, excellent.
00:51:07And it's not my idea.
00:51:08I'm not telling you to do it.
00:51:08I'm going.
00:51:09See you guys later.
00:51:10Feel free to try that date and dip.
00:51:13Oh, Chief feeling confident?
00:51:14I'm hungry.
00:51:15It was pretty good.
00:51:17I mean, the bigger upset would be if any of these dips sucked.
00:51:21Yeah.
00:51:22They're not.
00:51:22I mean, it's cheese and meat.
00:51:23Yeah.
00:51:23I will say, Mike went a little high level making the seven-layer dip, dude.
00:51:28It's not.
00:51:29It's not going to be anything.
00:51:30I think I'm going to make you all individual bowls.
00:51:33Okay.
00:51:33Because the one I have, it's just like, I don't know.
00:51:36What are the layers?
00:51:37So it's sour cream.
00:51:39Yup.
00:51:41Ground beef.
00:51:42Yup.
00:51:43Cheese.
00:51:43Yup.
00:51:44Lettuce.
00:51:45Olives.
00:51:47Green.
00:51:49Chili?
00:51:50No.
00:51:51Onions?
00:51:52Yeah, green onions.
00:51:53Okay.
00:51:53Okay.
00:51:53Do you want to do me a favor?
00:51:55I don't like tomatoes.
00:51:56I don't think you could inspire less confidence.
00:51:57I want to eat the olives out of mine.
00:51:59Yeah.
00:51:59I'm making individual bowls.
00:52:00All right.
00:52:00No olives.
00:52:00Appreciate that.
00:52:01No olives.
00:52:02Custom order.
00:52:02Like that?
00:52:03What are you, a child beef?
00:52:05You know, I got olives and mushrooms are the only things I don't really like.
00:52:08Wow.
00:52:08Eat the food.
00:52:09Those are so good on pizza, dude.
00:52:12All right, Meg, are you in the kitchen now?
00:52:14I am.
00:52:15Okay, what's going on?
00:52:16What are we making?
00:52:16Give us a rundown here.
00:52:17All right.
00:52:18Really quickly, I have to help the boys because apparently they don't know how to keep warm.
00:52:23That's true.
00:52:23I didn't.
00:52:24Hey, Megan, will you give that a stir for me?
00:52:27Oh, hey.
00:52:29Yeah, who's the misogynist now, chief?
00:52:31Look at you, dude.
00:52:32Who's just there?
00:52:33It's a thick daddy dip.
00:52:34Yep.
00:52:34Okay, so mine's really, really easy.
00:52:38And before anybody comes for me, I'm using Hormel chili in a can.
00:52:43It's like whenever you want McDonald's, you're not going to go for a healthy option.
00:52:47So this is what tastes best in my dip.
00:52:49So nobody come for Megan, okay?
00:52:51It's just Hormel chili.
00:52:52It's all good.
00:52:54I have to find a...
00:52:57She's gone.
00:52:58Oh.
00:53:00Hold on.
00:53:00I'm coming, guys.
00:53:01Don't worry.
00:53:02She should do one of those stair things where she pretends like she's going down the stairs.
00:53:06I was going to in a second.
00:53:07We got one can of Hormel chili, spicy.
00:53:10One can of no-beaten Hormel chili, regularly.
00:53:13Small black Velveeta cheese.
00:53:14Small block of Velveeta cheese.
00:53:16Arthia chips, obviously.
00:53:17Garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and pepper.
00:53:20I do need to add some of that Cajun cake to mine as well.
00:53:24All right, boys.
00:53:25We'll check back in with Megan in a second.
00:53:26She's doing some good work in there.
00:53:29Let's talk about the NFL.
00:53:30The NFL announced games all over the world, international games.
00:53:33So many, right?
00:53:34Yes.
00:53:35And we got some new news on that front.
00:53:38We knew there's a big initiative to create games all over the world.
00:53:41Real quick, where do you all stand?
00:53:43I know, like, PMT's always mad about it and, like, up in arms about it.
00:53:46I just think the players hate it.
00:53:48Do they really, though?
00:53:50I know it's for the fan experience of the international fans, but, dude, I would hate it if I was a player.
00:53:57I don't know.
00:53:58I don't know if I would, dude.
00:53:59Getting to go play football in a different part of the world for one week, it's your job.
00:54:03The traveling, though?
00:54:04You're very highly paid.
00:54:05You know how much these players hate traveling?
00:54:07I guess that's fair, but also, like...
00:54:09If you unlock a new TV deal in one of these countries, because you've grown the game so much, I think the players will be fine.
00:54:15No, for sure.
00:54:16I mean, if it helps the players, but I just...
00:54:19I don't know.
00:54:19I wouldn't like...
00:54:20Okay, look.
00:54:21I get what you're saying.
00:54:22I love an 8 a.m. kickoff.
00:54:24When you have a morning game, and then you just know I got 12 hours on this couch, just me and the couch and the wall, there's nothing better than that.
00:54:32So I'm on board with the games in Europe I don't like when they're in South America.
00:54:35Like, Australia, that is...
00:54:37Niners-Rams in Australia.
00:54:3915-hour flights.
00:54:41Divisional game.
00:54:42Very important game.
00:54:42What even time is that?
00:54:44I don't even know if Australia is even a real place.
00:54:46It's so far away.
00:54:47I don't know what day it is over there.
00:54:48They're all good-looking, aren't they?
00:54:50I know.
00:54:50I wouldn't mind.
00:54:52What?
00:54:53What?
00:54:54What?
00:54:54Wait, what?
00:54:56I said I wouldn't mind...
00:54:58Going to Australia?
00:54:59Hanging out with an Australian.
00:55:00No, here's what I would say, is that...
00:55:03I get what you're saying, Mikey.
00:55:05Like, as a player, this adds a lot to your plate when you've already got a lot on your plate.
00:55:09As a coach, you feel like every single week you're coaching for your life.
00:55:13If you're Kyle Shanahan or Sean McVay, you're probably a little miffed that such an important game is going to be taking place in Australia.
00:55:20But, let's take a step back here.
00:55:26If you're a player, I would just try to lean into the fact, this is going to be an all-time memory.
00:55:31This is going to be something that when you die, you'll reflect on, like, I once got to travel to Australia to play a football game.
00:55:37Yeah.
00:55:38That's cool.
00:55:39You need to go to other parts of the world.
00:55:40I know it wasn't everything when you were around, and I barely missed out on it, but, like, NFL Europe used to be a thing.
00:55:46Yeah.
00:55:46And I would have loved nothing more, because I wasn't good enough for the NFL.
00:55:50I think I could have made it a couple years in Europe.
00:55:53Do you know how sick it would have been to be playing in Barcelona, trying to make my NFL dreams come true?
00:55:58Yeah.
00:55:58And so, yeah, these players just got to focus on the positive.
00:56:00You're getting to be an ambassador.
00:56:02You're getting to go to a different country, experience sights and sounds, and then play the game that you get very highly played together.
00:56:08A game that you love dearly.
00:56:11And it's going to be for all kinds of cool fans.
00:56:13I'm into all of this.
00:56:14I like it.
00:56:15Imagine the boys in Munich for a week.
00:56:19We're like Dublin.
00:56:21Dummion beers in Munich.
00:56:22Just hammering beers at the pubs.
00:56:24And I'm sure, like, fans over there, because they have, like, the soccer, they have the rugby, but, like, NFL football players are, like, big celebrities, and they probably look at NFL players as, like, gods.
00:56:38Well, did you see the video of the two defensive linemen traveling to Japan that went viral recently?
00:56:43That was great.
00:56:44Yeah.
00:56:44And Tiffany's guy was so happy to see these two just massive human giants chilling in his home country.
00:56:52Like, I think this is good.
00:56:53I have no problem with it.
00:56:55It doesn't take away a home game.
00:56:57Everybody's still guaranteed your eight home games and whatnot.
00:57:00So, I don't know.
00:57:01I'm a fan.
00:57:03Megan, how we doing?
00:57:04Real quick check-in before we get to Hall of Fame.
00:57:05How we doing?
00:57:06We're doing great.
00:57:07I just put it in the oven.
00:57:09Should be ready to go in, like, ten minutes.
00:57:12So, obviously, I got it done a lot quicker than you guys.
00:57:15Can you give mine another stir, please?
00:57:17Yes, I will.
00:57:18But that's because this is where I'm supposed to be.
00:57:21Nobody's quicker than me, Megan.
00:57:22Okay, let's be clear about that.
00:57:24I'm the quickest man that I know.
00:57:26I always have been.
00:57:27Nothing's going to change.
00:57:28That is a thick daddy dick.
00:57:29It's very thick.
00:57:30It's cooking down a little bit too much.
00:57:31You see that muscle?
00:57:33It's, like, popping.
00:57:34Jacked.
00:57:35Whoa, Meg, that was kind of jacked right there.
00:57:38Boom.
00:57:38Jeez.
00:57:38You don't even work out.
00:57:40That's not fair.
00:57:41I work my ass off.
00:57:42It's called simple children.
00:57:43I work my ass off every day, and I've never seen arms that defined.
00:57:47All right, I'm going to throw my mess away, and I'll see you guys back in the studio.
00:57:52Okay, see you soon, Meg.
00:57:52Speaking of working their ass off, that's how you make the NFL Hall of Fame, and we have
00:57:57our brand new NFL Hall of Fame class, and wouldn't you know it, my king, a man who defined
00:58:03an entire generation of Louisianians' lives, Drew Brees, first ballot Hall of Famer, well
00:58:10deserved, absolute legend, five 5,000-yard seasons, no one's come close to that, should
00:58:17have gotten MVP in 2011, got robbed by Aaron Rodgers, again, though, Aaron Rodgers
00:58:20not in the Hall.
00:58:21Drew's going to be joined by Larry Fitzgerald, Adam Vinatieri, Roger Craig finally making
00:58:26it.
00:58:26Well deserved.
00:58:27The first running back from an all-decades team that was not in the Hall of Fame, he's
00:58:32now closed.
00:58:32Again, he was a predecessor of the modern running back.
00:58:36Yeah, he was a thousand-thousand guy.
00:58:38Thousand-thousand guy.
00:58:39Him, Marshall Falk, Christian McCaffrey, I think the only to ever achieve that.
00:58:43He did it way ahead of the curve.
00:58:45And then Luke Keekly.
00:58:46I love seeing Keekly up there.
00:58:47I agree.
00:58:48He deserved it, too.
00:58:48He was a stud.
00:58:50What I love about his career is he's kind of like the Jim Brown of this class, in that
00:58:55it is quality over quantity.
00:58:57Terrell Davis.
00:58:58Yeah, Terrell Davis.
00:58:59He didn't play a very long time, but my God, when he played, he was unstoppable.
00:59:04I just love, I love.
00:59:06He's got 18 picks in his career.
00:59:06I love watching him when he was breaking down film and what he goes through in his brain
00:59:12and how he uses little tendencies here and there, audibles.
00:59:17He would walk up to the line and hear what the center's saying, hear what the quarterback's
00:59:22saying, and watch film and watch the TV copies.
00:59:25And then that just made him so dominant on the field.
00:59:27He just knew every play.
00:59:28Well, that's why he ends up with 18 picks from the linebacker position in his career,
00:59:32which is an absurdly high number.
00:59:35And then Vinatieri, man.
00:59:36As we enter a Super Bowl with two teams that have not suffered a loss by more than a single
00:59:41possession this year, this game could come down to the kickers.
00:59:45And in Myers, you have a veteran.
00:59:46In Borgales, you got a rookie.
00:59:48Nobody was more clutch or better on this stage than was Adam Vinatieri.
00:59:53So this is a very satisfactory Hall of Fame class.
00:59:56Yeah, I would say so.
00:59:58Three of the biggest kicks of all time for the military.
01:00:01The one in the snow against the Raiders, overtime against the Raiders, and he had two game
01:00:04winners in the Super Bowl.
01:00:06Pretty good.
01:00:06And then added a fourth Super Bowl with the Colts.
01:00:09All right.
01:00:09So coming up next, guys, we got our guy Chris Felica, the bear.
01:00:14Good friend of the show.
01:00:14He's going to stop by.
01:00:16We'll run some prop bets by him.
01:00:17He'll give you some plays as well.
01:00:19More Wake Up Barstool here on FS1.
01:00:21And get hungry, get excited to eat some dip.
01:00:30All right, guys, welcome back to Wake Up Barstool.
01:00:32Mikey, get your ass in the kitchen, boy.
01:00:35Bye, Mikey.
01:00:36See you, guys.
01:00:37Get on with your...
01:00:38I'm going to eat everyone's dip.
01:00:41Stir mine again?
01:00:42He probably will.
01:00:43And right now, it is my pleasure to welcome in our very best friend here on WUB, and that
01:00:49is Chris Felica, the bear.
01:00:52Bear, what's going on, baby?
01:00:53How are we doing this morning?
01:00:55I'm doing great.
01:00:56What have we got with dips here?
01:00:58I got suggestions.
01:00:59We're doing a Super Bowl party here, and we've all planned our own dips.
01:01:04You'll see many of them are quite similar.
01:01:08Mine is called Cowboy Crack, and essentially all it is is a million different cheeses with
01:01:13Rotel, jalapenos, breakfast sausage, and bacon.
01:01:17Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:01:19Chief, what's yours?
01:01:20Mine's called Date and Dip.
01:01:22Sausage, Velveeta cheese, cheddar cheese, green chilies, a little cayenne.
01:01:28You stir it all up, cook it all up.
01:01:30It's thick.
01:01:30It's delicious.
01:01:31Megan?
01:01:32I'm doing a classic chili cheese dip.
01:01:35I've never gotten to complain about it.
01:01:37It's just two cans of Hormel chili, one spicy, one not, no beans, a half of a block of Velveeta,
01:01:44and then I use a little bit less than a whole block of cream cheese, and then add a little
01:01:48hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, and black pepper, and it's perfect.
01:01:53That's a lot of work, man.
01:01:54I think you're going to win.
01:01:55Oh, that's so easy.
01:01:55It's so easy.
01:01:56I went back there, I threw it all in a pot, and threw it in the oven.
01:02:00It was real easy.
01:02:01I will say this, Bear, at the end.
01:02:03Is Velveeta not, like, the best thing ever?
01:02:05I mean, is it cheese?
01:02:07No.
01:02:07No.
01:02:07But it just melts so perfectly and greatly.
01:02:10You threw some rotel in there.
01:02:11I like, this might sound like a little, like, bougie or foofy or whatever, but the Harry
01:02:18and David or Stonewall Kitchen, like the red pepper jelly with some cream, melt some cream
01:02:23and some cream cheese, mix it in and melt it, it's pretty good as well if you're looking
01:02:27for something non...
01:02:28I love pepper jelly down south.
01:02:29Yeah.
01:02:30You can't go wrong with a pepper jelly.
01:02:31I wish you were here, Bear, because at the end of the show, we're going to taste them,
01:02:34rate them, and pick a winner.
01:02:35I know.
01:02:36I know.
01:02:37I apologize, my friend.
01:02:39All right, Bear, let's get into the game then.
01:02:41We've broken it down from all the angles.
01:02:44We had Stu Feiner on all this week.
01:02:46He's been really hammering the point that it seems like all of the money, both big money,
01:02:51private money, if you look at offshore, a lot of people hammering the Seahawks here.
01:02:55What's your feel for this one?
01:02:57The source sees it the way I see it as well.
01:03:00That worries me.
01:03:01As someone who thinks the game is a simple handicap of the Seahawks are basically better
01:03:08at every position group on the field, the Seahawks should win the game relatively comfortably.
01:03:13That concerns me because most people are landing on that.
01:03:18And look, do the books always get the side that they need?
01:03:21No, they don't.
01:03:23But the books are going into this game clearly needing New England every, I think it's like
01:03:30seven out of every 10 spread better.
01:03:33So it's been on Seattle.
01:03:35And you played, you know how aggravated and pissed off you get when you're told you have
01:03:42no chance.
01:03:43And we've been talking about the Patriots schedule being terrible and historically bad all year
01:03:48long.
01:03:48A good follow on Twitter, Cleve TA is a buddy of mine.
01:03:53He just put out a great graphic.
01:03:56Mike Vrabel is one of the best head coaches ever in terms of wins over expectation.
01:04:01And as an underdog, it is a perfect confluence of events for New England.
01:04:08I hate saying this, but I could see myself holding a Patriots money line ticket on Sunday,
01:04:14if nothing else, for more than just a little bit of a happiness, emotional head should they
01:04:20lose being the bitter Jets fan that I am.
01:04:22Bear, do you have any interpretation of the line not moving despite the money being so
01:04:29heavy on the Seahawks?
01:04:31That's what would bother me as it makes me feel like the odds makers are comfortable going
01:04:39into the game welcoming all of this Seattle money and knowing that they're going to be
01:04:44needing the Patriots.
01:04:46That does concern me.
01:04:47And it worries me as well, I talked to a couple of people last night, like the Nick
01:04:53Evan Worry injury is a concern.
01:04:55I said, like, should we be concerned that he's not practicing at this point?
01:04:59And they were like, yes, absolutely.
01:05:02It's a very, you saw him noticeably limping into the hotel.
01:05:06Now I'm sure they're going to shoot him up and do whatever they need to do to get him out
01:05:10there on Sunday.
01:05:11But he's a big part of their defensive game plan.
01:05:14But yeah, the fact that the line has not moved all four and a half with all these
01:05:19tickets coming in on Seattle, that would be a siren going off and red lights flashing
01:05:27that the odds makers do feel that New England is the right side.
01:05:31All right, Bear, I have a question for you.
01:05:33As, you know, the laws of averages and as, you know, the laws of betting go, Drake May
01:05:39has been sacked five times in the last three postseason games.
01:05:42Do you see more or less than five sacks in the Super Bowl?
01:05:48I would see more just because I don't think either team is really going to be able to
01:05:53run the ball very much.
01:05:54You can say what you want and kind of punch holes in a lot of things about the Patriots
01:05:59this year.
01:06:00But their rush defense has been fantastic.
01:06:02And Seattle's rush defense has been fantastic.
01:06:05There was a really good article by Bill Barnwell yesterday as well, breaking down the Patriots
01:06:11offensive line woes and specifically, sorry, LSU fans and alums there, about Will Campbell
01:06:16really struggling, especially since he came back from his injury.
01:06:21So is he a little bit of a liability?
01:06:23Maybe he's not fully healthy.
01:06:24Who knows?
01:06:25But yeah, it feels like the number of pass attempts and dropbacks that May is going to
01:06:30have might indicate that that over would be the player there.
01:06:34I did like a Drake May prop specifically under 37 and a half rushing yards in the game for
01:06:40May.
01:06:41If you look around, you might be able to find a better number, but 37 and a half feels
01:06:45like market on bare bets this week.
01:06:48Jeff Schwartz had a really good analysis on how the Seattle defense really takes away
01:06:53quarterback run and doesn't really allow for you to do that.
01:06:58I think a lot of people are just, oh, Drake May's gone over 50, 60 yards in two of the
01:07:03three playoff games.
01:07:04Oh, he'll do it again.
01:07:05That'll be a big part of the game, but I'm not sure it's going to be a big part of their
01:07:08game plan on Sunday.
01:07:09So under 37 and a half rush yards for Drake May was one of the props that I did like the
01:07:14most on Sunday.
01:07:15I mean, that makes a lot of sense, given that we've talked so much about May's legs as
01:07:19being maybe the wild card here, but it's like if everybody's highlighting it as maybe
01:07:23the Patriots' best path, you have to imagine McDonald's and company going to be locked
01:07:27in on trying to stop it.
01:07:28Let's go to the kitchen and check in with our guy, Michael Kadick.
01:07:32Kadick, stop eating.
01:07:34It was an olive.
01:07:35Stop eating.
01:07:36It was an olive.
01:07:37How's it going there?
01:07:38How's the seven-layer dip?
01:07:39Chief, this thing is so thick.
01:07:42It's cooked down too much.
01:07:43This thing is so thick.
01:07:45Give it a stir.
01:07:46Look at this thing.
01:07:49It's not even coming off the spoon.
01:07:51You got to stir it.
01:07:53Wait, don't you mean it needs to be cooked down more?
01:07:56Oh, I think it's cooked too much.
01:07:58It's like solidified.
01:07:59Can I ask a question?
01:08:00Did you use the bagged cheddar cheese?
01:08:03Yeah.
01:08:04The cellulose is probably what's thickening.
01:08:06Oh, there you go, Chief.
01:08:08Rookie mistake.
01:08:09I shredded my cheese.
01:08:10I felt like I didn't have enough cheese.
01:08:12Chief, you didn't want olives, correct?
01:08:14No olives.
01:08:14Thank you, Michael.
01:08:15Everyone else good with olives?
01:08:16Yes, sir.
01:08:16Love olives.
01:08:17It might just be the whole olives if that's cool.
01:08:19I'm not slicing these things up.
01:08:21Hey, are you cool with olives, Bear?
01:08:22Where do you stand?
01:08:23I am very cool with – I am an olive guy, I was going to say.
01:08:27Whoever doesn't want olives, you can just pick them out.
01:08:29I love olives.
01:08:30See, I'm a beneficiary here in my house because my wife is not an olive person either.
01:08:35So she'll just like – when they say that olives come on the salad, she'll just take
01:08:39them out and throw them on my plate.
01:08:41So it's great.
01:08:42Yeah, I've come to olives a little bit later in life.
01:08:44Eventually, I decided to look.
01:08:45Oh, nice spread there, Mikey.
01:08:46Hey, Bear, question.
01:08:49You were talking a lot about the offensive line, the Patriots' offensive line, and the
01:08:54worries of that unit.
01:08:56Is that like your number one kind of key to victory for the Patriots, kind of build a – or
01:09:03establish a run early and then kind of build from that?
01:09:05Yeah, I think they're going to have to try.
01:09:07If you look at their line, I know they played some very good defenses in the playoffs, but
01:09:14the fact that they really have not been able to move the ball consistently on offense would
01:09:19have me concerned.
01:09:20I'm sure now with two weeks to prepare for McDonald's defense, I'm sure they will have
01:09:25figured – McDaniels is smart, they'll figure some things out.
01:09:28One of the great things about Mike Vrabel and his ability to manage a game, he always seems
01:09:37to find a loophole or a little narrow path on something that maybe someone hasn't thought
01:09:45of.
01:09:45You noticed the other day in the AFC Championship game about the defensive substitutions on
01:09:51the other side of the ball where you're allowed to take their time walking off the field.
01:09:55Jared Stidham all of a sudden is three on the play clock, got a rush into it.
01:10:00He was one of the first people to have teams like jump off sides and take delay of game
01:10:06penalties to kind of massage around the two-minute warning and to stop the clock and kind of get
01:10:12an – I am sure he's figuring some things out right now to kind of help his offensive
01:10:18line, help his unit, and maybe make their offensive woes go away just a little bit.
01:10:23But, yeah, they're going to need to figure out something, whether it's Drake May getting
01:10:27rid of the ball quickly, some quick-hitting run plays to try and keep that Seattle defense
01:10:33off kilter.
01:10:35I mean, Kadic is the mouthful of olives.
01:10:38Production told me to pour the can in my mouth.
01:10:42So not only do we have the actual olives, we have the little water there with the little
01:10:47salty olive juice.
01:10:48Oh, Bear, I have one more question for you.
01:10:52I don't know how long you're planning on being on.
01:10:55As long as you guys need me.
01:10:57As bettors, you know, we can find ways to make the most unexciting games exciting.
01:11:02One, where do you put your excitement meter for this game?
01:11:07And two, what bet would you take to make this game more exciting if the meter is low?
01:11:14The meter is low just because, as I said, I am not a Patriots fan, so I am in fear of
01:11:21them winning another Super Bowl in an underdog role.
01:11:25And as a whole, I think in listening to a lot of people out there this week, it feels like
01:11:30there's a little bit of a malaise.
01:11:32And I think it harkens back to the regular season when we were all kind of hanging on
01:11:38with the Chiefs or the Lions or Lamar Jackson.
01:11:41Oh, the Eagles are going to, like, all the big game type teams and the teams that have
01:11:45been in the Super Bowl lately.
01:11:47Those are the teams, they'll be fine.
01:11:50They'll make it.
01:11:51And then it never happened.
01:11:52And here we are with the Patriots, who scored one offensive touchdown in two of their three
01:11:56playoff games.
01:11:57And Seattle, which is basically, was off the radar all year long.
01:12:02So I think general malaise is set in for a lot of people, but that'll change on Sunday.
01:12:08Hmm.
01:12:08See, I am, I'm not Mr. Excitement here in terms of, like, a bet that you're going to get excited
01:12:14about.
01:12:15If you want to, I'll give you two that maybe lean towards excitement or something to look
01:12:21forward to at the end of the game.
01:12:22Last score of the game to be a touchdown is something that might be interesting.
01:12:27If the game goes to the script, as to most bettors might think it will, you would expect
01:12:33the Patriots to be down big or double digits in a position not to necessarily need a field
01:12:38goal.
01:12:38So you would think the last score of the game might be a touchdown there.
01:12:42And then one early, if you're looking to get out of the gate and root for something
01:12:47really obscure, the distance of the first field goal attempt in the game over under 37 and
01:12:54a half yards, over 37 and a half yards.
01:12:57We've talked about how these teams, we don't think are going to have very much success going
01:13:03distance in terms of their drives.
01:13:06I don't think red zone really will be threatened very much early on.
01:13:10So I would think we're probably looking at like a 40 yard field goal attempt or even longer,
01:13:14especially with Myers, who has a leg, who can kick it long.
01:13:17And then if the Patriots continue to get bogged down as they get closer to the red zone,
01:13:22Bora Gallis from over 37 and a half too.
01:13:24So yeah, a little bit of an odd prop, but you could be sitting there rooting on like
01:13:28it's third and it's third and seven from the 23 yard line.
01:13:32And you're not rooting for like a four yard gain to get it inside the red zone.
01:13:36You're rooting for an incompletion or a sack.
01:13:38Give me a long field goal attempt.
01:13:39All right, Bear.
01:13:40Speaking of props, we have put together an in-house prop competition.
01:13:44Here amongst the crew, whoever hits the longest odd prop is going to get a hundred dollar
01:13:51bottle of whatever you want.
01:13:53Thanks to our fearless leader, Matt Tanton.
01:13:55Shout out, Matt.
01:13:56We want you to give us your expert opinion on our props here, guys.
01:13:59Can we get them up on the screen for Bear to see?
01:14:02Here it is.
01:14:03So Carson's gone.
01:14:05Jake Bobo with one receiving yard.
01:14:08This is a Liam Blutman special here.
01:14:11Connor has the most points scored in, or excuse me, Connor has points scored in the first
01:14:15five minutes.
01:14:16Steph's over.
01:14:17I mean, look, you see it on there.
01:14:18What do you like the most here?
01:14:20There is one clear one that I love there.
01:14:22And that's Steph's over, over a half a red zone interception.
01:14:27That has been a bugaboo for Sam Darnold throughout his career.
01:14:31Red zone turnovers.
01:14:32I think that's a great one.
01:14:35I might have to go find that and tell Steph there, because I like that one a lot.
01:14:39And here's the deal.
01:14:41Again, the longest odd one that hits ends up winning.
01:14:46Everybody else chose actual game stuff.
01:14:48I did the Gatorade going clear or water.
01:14:51Look, if you know one thing, red dye, all the dyes, they're out on them, okay?
01:14:55The NFL's very health conscious.
01:14:57I'm thinking a clear Gatorade or water could be the play here.
01:15:00Anything from this second page, Bear, that jumps off?
01:15:03I like the clear of them.
01:15:05I like both yours and Owens with the clear or the purple.
01:15:10Jeff Schwartz, again, to give Jeff some credit, he has done a Gatorade-like study here.
01:15:18And he said they don't want a color that's going to stain the jersey in the photo.
01:15:24So you're not going to get a red or anything like that.
01:15:27You're right.
01:15:27So it's going to be a clear.
01:15:29It's going to be a purple.
01:15:30So I like that.
01:15:31But I also like Jordan's Shahid reception at plus 650 to have the longest reception in the game.
01:15:38He's someone that so much focus on JSN.
01:15:42Maybe you get Cooper Cup a lot of bracketing him and keeping him under wraps.
01:15:46This could be a game potentially where Shahid breaks out not only in special teams, but in the passing game as well.
01:15:53And there were some really nice numbers on him to be the MVP of the Super Bowl as well, like 50 to 1 or so.
01:16:00I think he's still around 35 or so.
01:16:0233 yesterday is when I saw him because Rashid's longest reception is one of my props as well.
01:16:09And then I went ahead and took him, Super Bowl MVP, that 33 to 1, in case he were to have just that humongous game swinging momentum type catch.
01:16:20And again, the return game.
01:16:22If they kick with the ball, he could factor in there.
01:16:24We could have like a Desmond Howard situation on our hand.
01:16:27Chris Salika, the bear, you're the best, man.
01:16:29Thank you so much for joining us again this morning.
01:16:32You got it.
01:16:32Everybody have a great weekend.
01:16:34Enjoy the dip.
01:16:35Yeah.
01:16:35And enjoy the game.
01:16:36We wish you were here with us so you could enjoy the dip as well.
01:16:38Let's go to the kitchen.
01:16:40Mikey Kadik.
01:16:41Kadik, how do we feel?
01:16:42We're about to head to the kitchen.
01:16:43Everything good on your end?
01:16:46Ah!
01:16:47Oh, Chief, do you like tomatoes?
01:16:49You cool with tomatoes?
01:16:50Love tomatoes.
01:16:50All right.
01:16:51Cool, cool, cool.
01:16:52All right.
01:16:52We're getting plated up.
01:16:54Coming up next, it's do or dime.
01:16:56It's a...
01:16:58What?
01:16:58I don't know.
01:17:07Hey, what's going on, y'all?
01:17:09Welcome back.
01:17:09This is the Wub Super Bowl party.
01:17:11I'm excited about it.
01:17:12Okay, the dips are officially in.
01:17:15We're ready.
01:17:15We're going to go one by one here.
01:17:16We'll give you a skilled special parlay as well.
01:17:19Control.
01:17:19We don't have a clock in here, so get in my ear and let me know what we've got to work with.
01:17:22All right.
01:17:23Who are we going to start with first?
01:17:24I think we go...
01:17:25Live edition or Smasher Pass?
01:17:27I think these are all going to be Smasher.
01:17:28We'll go down the line.
01:17:29All right.
01:17:29All right.
01:17:30Chief, you're up first.
01:17:31All right.
01:17:31Everybody grab a chip.
01:17:32Get a vehicle.
01:17:34I think you're going to need a...
01:17:35All right.
01:17:36Let's see what we got here.
01:17:37All right.
01:17:38So we got ground sausage.
01:17:40We got Velveeta cheese.
01:17:41Cheddar cheese.
01:17:42Cayenne pepper.
01:17:43I probably should have used more.
01:17:45And some diced tomatoes and green chili.
01:17:48It's fantastic.
01:17:48Very simple.
01:17:50It's good.
01:17:50Artery-clogging.
01:17:52Perfect Super Bowl dip.
01:17:54You know, it's thick, but it's not inedible.
01:18:00It's well done here.
01:18:01It's a smash.
01:18:02I thought it was going to be much thicker and maybe even gritty.
01:18:06But it's good.
01:18:07It's good.
01:18:08Guys, I'm smashing every single one.
01:18:09Yeah.
01:18:10Smash.
01:18:11Out of 10.
01:18:12What are we giving it?
01:18:13I'm going to say...
01:18:14I'm saying 7?
01:18:158-7.
01:18:168-7.
01:18:16Wow.
01:18:17Okay.
01:18:17I'm going to go 7-9.
01:18:18Setting the bar high.
01:18:19I'm going 7.
01:18:21All right.
01:18:21Next up, we got Mikey's 7 Layer Dip.
01:18:24It's really not 7, but...
01:18:25Shout out Mama K-Dick.
01:18:26Look at that.
01:18:27So we have sour cream at the base.
01:18:29Make sure you get all of that.
01:18:30I know you need a hard integrity chip.
01:18:33I need a new chip.
01:18:34So we have sour cream, ground beef, lettuce, cheese, olives.
01:18:38I want to get all the elements in a bite here.
01:18:41It's tough.
01:18:41Oh, I broke the chip.
01:18:42I know.
01:18:43You got to get in there.
01:18:44It's really tough, but I love this one.
01:18:46My mom makes it for every single one.
01:18:47It's like a little taco bowl.
01:18:49Yeah.
01:18:49It's a nice change from how much cheese we're going to have.
01:18:52Mm-hmm.
01:18:54Oh, my God.
01:18:55I like that a lot.
01:18:56I'm going to give you a 9 on that, K-Dick.
01:18:59Mm-hmm.
01:18:59I'm going to go 8.
01:19:01I'm not going 9 because I would have liked my olives cut up.
01:19:04Yeah.
01:19:04I mean, how am I supposed to eat this?
01:19:06You got to eat the whole olive at once?
01:19:08The lettuce in there is nice, too.
01:19:10Nice little finishing bite.
01:19:11A little chili.
01:19:12Yep.
01:19:13All right.
01:19:13Now Cheap Ops.
01:19:15Did you use any green onions, Mikey?
01:19:17No.
01:19:18Okay.
01:19:18Also, actually, I'm going to go 8-5 because I saw you how many times you licked your fingers
01:19:22while touching the food.
01:19:24Yeah.
01:19:24Look, we like the taste in the kitchen.
01:19:26Okay.
01:19:26Dive into the cowboy crack here.
01:19:28Try to get a little jalapeno in there if you can, guys.
01:19:30I'm so excited for this one.
01:19:32This is what I'm most excited for.
01:19:35Oh, my.
01:19:36Mm.
01:19:37That is a lot of cheese.
01:19:39That's a lot of cheese.
01:19:40It's good.
01:19:41It's not as good as I thought it would be.
01:19:43Wow, Megan.
01:19:44Okay.
01:19:44Actually, you might be right.
01:19:45I think there are just too many things going on for me.
01:19:48What do you like, Mikey?
01:19:50I need another bite.
01:19:52Dude, it's so good.
01:19:53It's still good.
01:19:54I'll give this a 9-1.
01:19:56A 7-8.
01:19:57A 7-8.
01:19:58I think there's just too much for me.
01:20:01It is.
01:20:01I mean, it's missing.
01:20:03Okay, look.
01:20:03I'll go this.
01:20:04I'll go 8.
01:20:04It's missing something.
01:20:06I don't know what it's missing.
01:20:07Maybe.
01:20:10Yeah, it's salty.
01:20:10Pretty salty.
01:20:11Seasoning in it.
01:20:12It's very salty.
01:20:13A lot of salty elements in there.
01:20:15All right.
01:20:17Chief, where are you at on the cowboy crack?
01:20:18I like the cowboy crack.
01:20:19I'll give it an 8-1.
01:20:21All right.
01:20:22Megan, here we go.
01:20:24This is a classic chili cheese dip.
01:20:25Differently colored here.
01:20:27This looks like a skillet queso from Chili's.
01:20:29Yeah, it does.
01:20:30Kind of tastes like one.
01:20:31I had a bite of this before.
01:20:33I think this is the winner.
01:20:36Yeah.
01:20:37Yeah.
01:20:38Yeah.
01:20:39It's actually the winner.
01:20:40That pisses me off.
01:20:41That's really good.
01:20:42That's really good.
01:20:43That's a 9.
01:20:44That's a 9.
01:20:44That's a 9, yeah.
01:20:45Yeah, you've got two cans of Hormel chili.
01:20:47You've got cream cheese and Velveeta.
01:20:49Yeah, there's something about...
01:20:51It's just like...
01:20:53It's a more Mexican flavor.
01:20:54The cowboy crack is too cheesy tasting.
01:20:57It's like not that dissimilar from Chiefs.
01:20:59They're both very good, but at the end of the day, it's a classic cheese dip.
01:21:02Nothing can get too cheesy.
01:21:04Mm-hmm.
01:21:05It's so simple.
01:21:06You can't mess it up.
01:21:07Everyone will like it.
01:21:08Only if they don't like chili or cheese.
01:21:10All right, guys.
01:21:11Put up Megan's recipe on the screen here.
01:21:13If you want to make a dip for Super Bowl Sunday, this is the winner...
01:21:15This is the one.
01:21:16...of the inaugural WUB dip competition.
01:21:21Some would say she had an unfair advantage due to her familiarity in the kitchen.
01:21:24I don't know.
01:21:25Couldn't be me.
01:21:26No, I'm just kidding, guys.
01:21:28Now it's time.
01:21:29Speaking of Skillet Queso, it's time for a Skillet special parlay.
01:21:34What do we got here, guys?
01:21:36What went wrong with mine?
01:21:39I wonder.
01:21:39I mean, they're all very good, to be clear.
01:21:41Yeah.
01:21:41Um, I feel like yours would be good, like, over, like, nachos or something.
01:21:47Like, there's something, like...
01:21:48Yeah, it needs something.
01:21:49It's missing a little bit of flavor.
01:21:51Um, my part for the Skillet parlay, I'm just gonna go with, um, the under, 45 and a half.
01:21:56So not scared of playing the under, despite the fact that it's kind of...
01:21:59Yeah, no, I'm not scared.
01:22:00I think...
01:22:01I think that both defenses are going to absolutely lock down.
01:22:05And again, with both quarterbacks never being to a Super Bowl, there's gonna be a lot of
01:22:10jitters, a lot of nerves.
01:22:11People aren't gonna want to make mistakes, especially the quarterback.
01:22:14I'm gonna go the under.
01:22:15I think it's the safest play for me for the Skillet.
01:22:19All right, Chief, what do you got, babe?
01:22:21DeMarcus Lawrence will get a sack.
01:22:22I think, um, Patriots are gonna be behind.
01:22:25They're gonna be dropping Drake May back a lot.
01:22:27I love that Seattle front seven.
01:22:29I got DeMarcus Lawrence's sack.
01:22:30It's plus 119 right now.
01:22:32All right, Mike, you haven't said a word since we started the dip competition.
01:22:35What do we got?
01:22:36Two plus pass touchdowns.
01:22:37I'm gonna get back to my dip.
01:22:39All right, I'm going Kenneth Walker, 25 receiving yards.
01:22:42It's a whole piece of bacon.
01:22:43If you look at some of the...
01:22:44See, on, Sam...
01:22:45Look, we know everything's gonna go through Kenneth Walker.
01:22:47No Charbonnet.
01:22:47We all know about that.
01:22:49But if you look at some of the big plays that Seattle's made in their four-minute drive situation,
01:22:52down the stretch season, these big games, and they gotta have him, not only do they love
01:22:57checking down to Walker, maybe running a screen to Walker, but his ability to create in space.
01:23:03It's also, it helps take a lot of pressure off of Sam Darnold.
01:23:06I think you can expect a lot of interior pressure this game.
01:23:09I think a lot of checkdowns could play in play.
01:23:11Kenneth Walker, 25 plus receiving yards.
01:23:14You're getting that at plus odds as well.
01:23:15There it is.
01:23:16Plus 1,600, guys.
01:23:19We're 1-11 this year.
01:23:21Do you have some indigestion issues?
01:23:22But what better time than now?
01:23:24Well, I just keep eating this, trying to figure out what's missing here.
01:23:27Just every time T-Bob talks, he just feels like...
01:23:29Maybe I went too much queso fresco.
01:23:31Maybe.
01:23:34Mmm.
01:23:35I can't...
01:23:36All right, guys, I'm gonna be over here all day.
01:23:38Are we done talking?
01:23:39All right, we know.
01:23:40We got Ask Wub.
01:23:40We got a last-minute Ask Wub.
01:23:41Let's see what we got.
01:23:43Would you go vegetarian for a year if your favorite was guaranteed a championship?
01:23:47No.
01:23:47You're just saying that because your team just got one.
01:23:50Yeah.
01:23:50Our team has plenty.
01:23:51I would do that.
01:23:52I would do that.
01:23:53Bears haven't won it in 40 years?
01:23:55Yeah.
01:23:55It would also force you to...
01:23:58You can get creative with vegetarian options.
01:24:00Yeah.
01:24:01You can find your way.
01:24:01I would do it if Lane Griffin could win his first year.
01:24:05Oh, that'd be so good, dude.
01:24:06First year?
01:24:07I would go vegetarian for five years.
01:24:10Whoa.
01:24:10For a first-year natty.
01:24:12All right.
01:24:13Super Bowl picks, guys.
01:24:15Final opportunity here.
01:24:16Who's winning on Sunday?
01:24:17Seahawks.
01:24:18I got the Seahawks, too.
01:24:20Yeah, I'm not going to go against the grain.
01:24:22I think, like, I'm not going to go paralysis by analysis.
01:24:26I'm going to go obvious.
01:24:27I think they're better, most complete team.
01:24:29I think Seattle takes it home.
01:24:31To make this show work and to make sure people aren't going to, you know, screenshot a graphic
01:24:36of all of us saying the Seahawks, I'll go Patriots plus four and a half for the plot.
01:24:41And also, you know, Bear said all of the money, red flags, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing.
01:24:47I trust Bear.
01:24:47So we'll take the Patriots plus four and a half.
01:24:49Owen's pumping his fist back there.
01:24:51Owen, you don't even like sports.
01:24:52I don't even know what you're doing here.
01:24:54You don't like the Patriots.
01:24:55Don't pretend.
01:24:56You don't just get to hop on the bandwagon Super Bowl week.
01:24:59I think it's too much queso fresco.
01:25:01I think that's where some of this kind of graininess is coming at.
01:25:04Yeah.
01:25:04Yeah, it is good.
01:25:05I wanted to beat Megan, though.
01:25:07Damn it.
01:25:08Oh, well.
01:25:08And also make my dip in the microwave if you don't have, like, a stove or, you know,
01:25:13it's really easy.
01:25:14So it's just the best, most versatile dip here.
01:25:16All right, guys.
01:25:18Everybody have a great weekend.
01:25:19Enjoy the Super Bowl.
01:25:20We love you.
01:25:22Shout out, America.
01:25:23Shout out, football.
01:25:25We can't wait.
01:25:25We'll see you on Monday recapping it all.
01:25:27Wake up, Mark.
01:25:28I'm going to keep eating all this.
01:25:31All right.
01:25:38We'll see you on Monday.
