00:00As we dial it into the northeast, it's been a really, really wet, wet and drenching start to the month
00:06here,
00:06the first two to three weeks in the Midwest especially.
00:09Look at Charleston, West Virginia, here in the Ohio Valley.
00:12We've had 500% of normal rainfall for the first 17 days of the month.
00:18So just incredible rainfall, five times the norm.
00:21And then Dayton, Ohio, almost five times the norm.
00:24Just tremendous flooding there.
00:25Indianapolis, almost three times the average.
00:27Pittsburgh, almost three times the norm.
00:29Lexington, Kentucky, also 272% of average.
00:33That's the average to date compared to where we've been, again, for the first 17, 18 days of the month.
00:39Tonight, we're going to begin to see this transition from what has been recently dry weather for I-95,
00:45eventually give way to some scattered showers and storms in the interior, in the Ohio Valley, some showers into Buffalo.
00:50And you can see the New England states looking really nice.
00:53I-95 should still be dry tonight.
00:55That will not be the case as we move forward into Thursday.
00:57Here comes the rain back into the picture.
00:59And areas like Lexington, Charleston, Pittsburgh, Dayton, Indianapolis, again, facing some showers and rain, adding to those surpluses.
01:07Some of the storms will be strong and severe on Thursday, especially in areas around central and eastern Kentucky, into
01:14southern West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and New Jersey, at least south Jersey, Delaware, and southeast Pennsylvania, facing some of that
01:21risk.
01:21This could also extend down into areas around the interior of the Gulf Coast state.
01:25So, as we look at future radar and clouds, you can see we're going to be dealing with some of
01:29these areas of rain late tonight.
01:31There we go, through the overnight hours, moving back into central PA.
01:344 p.m. Thursday, we'll press pause.
01:36Showers.
01:36Some of these storms could be strong to severe in south Jersey, Maryland, eastern Virginia.
01:40Look out for some of these, even down into west Virginia.
01:42Thursday, late evening, it's Boston and Portland holding on to the rain, while others dry out a little farther west.
01:48And then we get ready for the next round, a little farther south.
01:51This time on Friday, it's mainly sequestered to areas like West Virginia, Kentucky, and Virginia.
01:56And there will be some strong storms, even near Washington, D.C., perhaps, or at least rain.
02:01Best chance for severe may be a little south of there.
02:03So, Friday, it's a split forecast.
02:05Beautiful weather farther north, high pressure with us.
02:08But to the south, into the Virginias, we're looking at some showers and thunderstorms.
02:11And here you can see our severe risk for Friday.
02:14We are keeping in southeast Virginia, far southern and southeast Maryland, down through much of the Carolinas, mainly east of
02:21Charlotte.
02:21So, that's all going to be tied to a front.
02:23Behind that front, it cools down pretty significantly Saturday.
02:27The shower and thunderstorm zone will be over the Great Lakes.
02:29By the way, there were several water spouts late this morning on Lake Erie.
02:33We're getting into water spout season with warm water, chillier air aloft.
02:38And this weekend, you can see showers, even some thunderstorms here in the dark green zone near the Chesapeake Bay.
02:44We'll be watching that.
02:45And it gets cooler out there for Sunday and Monday.
