00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:05The weather will be dominated by low pressure through this week, with a rain warning enforced from midnight tonight across the south of Wales as well as the west country.
00:13Low pressure tracks across the country through Wednesday, strong winds, coastal gales, heavy rain and then we're in a showery regime through Thursday as well as Friday with a blustery breeze but some sunshine coming through as well.
00:27So all in all, yes, through the rest of this working week we will see those showers.
00:32It settles down a little bit as we head through Friday into Saturday, particularly across central and eastern areas, with some rain grazing the far north and west through Saturday as temperatures recover and rise probably into the 20s across some parts.
00:46For the time being, showers continue across Scotland, clearer skies across northern England and also for Northern Ireland before thickling cloud brings outbreaks of rain.
00:55This rain warning kicks in at midnight for the west country as well as southern parts of Wales as we see those winds pick up.
01:02So some heavy pulses of wet weather arriving and extending into much of Wales, the middle and central southern England, into the early hours of the morning.
01:12Northern Ireland also seeing its fair share of wet weather as another pulse of rain extends towards northern England and southern parts of Scotland.
01:19Here are those strong winds. Here's your rain warning. Temperatures holding up, particularly with the cloud as well as the rain.
01:25Those temperatures probably Cateness and southern and northwest highlands.
01:29But you'll see a bright start to the day here.
01:31Wet and windy elsewhere. Sporadic bursts of heavy rain with the risk of thunder as we head through the afternoon with showers following.
01:39High waves associated with these strong winds as well.
01:42And showery rain continues its passage northwards through the morning and into the afternoon.
01:47The rain warning extends till 2pm towards the southwest.
01:51These showers will align through the afternoon.
01:53So some heavy pulses of wet weather as we see more persistent rain just gathering across central and northern areas of Scotland.
02:00Showers come and go across Northern Ireland as well.
02:02But some brighter skies to end the day across central and eastern areas of the country.
02:07Temperatures here 22 degrees Celsius.
02:09Watch out for that blustery wind. 15 or 16 towards the northwest of Scotland.
02:13A lighter breeze here. 17 for Northern Ireland.
02:16Now through Wednesday evening and overnight.
02:19That showery rain becomes confined to the far north there.
02:22Again, some heavy pulses can't be ruled out.
02:24Showers continue to come and go through into Thursday though.
02:28Thursday will be a day of sunshine and showers.
02:31Some of these showers will be heavy with a blustery breeze, particularly towards the west there.
02:34They'll rattle across quite quickly with that wind though.
02:38But again, some sunshine in between.
02:40The temperatures then through Thursday.
02:4217 to 21 degrees Celsius.
02:45A better feel to things all round.
02:48Now through Thursday and into Friday, we will see some drier skies.
02:53If not, some brighter weather across central and southern areas.
02:56Through Thursday night, the showers tending to fade away here.
02:59But they will continue across the north as well as the west.
03:02Some clearer skies elsewhere.
03:05And that brings the promise of some sunshine into Friday.
03:08So Friday, you'll see some brighter skies.
03:10Although the cloud will come and go further north, particularly across Northern Ireland, Scotland,
03:15northern parts of England with some fleeting showers.
03:17But some drier skies as well.
03:19And that rain just confined to the far northwest of Scotland.
03:22Here are your temperatures then through the afternoon on Friday.
03:2518 to 22 degrees Celsius.
03:27And I'll see you later.
03:29Bye-bye.
