00:00Hi there, whilst we've seen a dry and warm start to the week in the south, northern parts
00:05of the UK have been unsettled, but that north-south contrast diminishes over the next few days
00:10as high pressure builds in widely.
00:12In the meantime, a weather front is sinking south, although it's stalling across southern
00:16Scotland, northern England and north Wales.
00:18A damp and cloudy afternoon here, but the rain tending to ease later as it pushes into
00:24higher pressure, which is already resident across southern parts of the UK.
00:28High pressure, with plenty of strong June sunshine leading to temperatures of 26-27 celsius,
00:34a small chance of a 28.
00:35Scotland and Northern Ireland are brighter compared with the start of the week, but still with
00:39a few showers across northern Scotland, and gusty winds in the far north and northwest as
00:44well, increasingly so as the day comes to an end.
00:48Clear spells elsewhere though, and that front I mentioned that is across central areas tends
00:52to sink south and fizzle away.
00:54The cloud becoming broken up, and plenty of clear spells overnight.
00:59Whether you're in the clear spells or the cloudier skies, temperatures will be holding
01:04up in the mid-teens, so a relatively mild night to come.
01:08I think for Scotland and Northern Ireland though, it will be fresher, and we've got those gusty
01:12winds first thing across the north and northwest of Scotland tending to ease through the day.
01:17Temperatures of cloud for Scotland and Northern Ireland, some outbreaks of showery rain, especially
01:21through the central belt.
01:22But further south, once again across the southern half of the UK, and increasingly so for Northern
01:28England as well, it's going to be sunny and warm.
01:33Temperatures widely in the mid-twenties, perhaps up to 27 degrees again in a few spots.
01:38Now, Wednesday evening, we'll see the cloud and some tending to be showery outbreaks of
01:45rain pushing into Western Scotland, but moving northwards as the whole pattern shifts so that
01:52we see high pressure setting up over the North Sea, and that allows more of a southerly air
01:57flow.
01:57Now, initially, temperatures are rising each day this week because of high pressure and
02:02the air sinking and compressing.
02:03But by the weekend, we're likely to see increasing heat arrive from the south, and that means widely
02:11it's going to be dry, sunny and warm, but we'll also see temperatures rise each day up into
02:18the low thirties by the weekend.
02:19And we're not just talking about London, we're talking about low thirties possible across central
02:24and northern parts of England, perhaps east Wales, as well as the High Teens across many
02:29other parts of the UK, so becoming increasingly sunny, increasingly dry and increasingly hot
02:36by this weekend.
02:37We'll keep you updated on all the details, of course, on our YouTube channel.
02:40Bye bye.
