00:00Crowds across Australia rallied both against and for immigration in duelling
00:06protests on August 31st across some major cities. Police attended to keep
00:11opposing groups separate with minimal arrests. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese
00:15said whilst there were good people with legitimate concerns at the rallies, he
00:19condemned an open neo-Nazi giving a speech from the steps of Victorian
00:24Parliament. Referring to the National Socialist Network leader Thomas Sewell
00:28who addressed the Melbourne crowd. The tone of course of much of the
00:34rallies was unfortunate is the best way that you could put it but hateful in some
00:42of the extreme examples. Protesters allegedly violently attacked an
00:46Aboriginal protest site Camp Sovereignty in King's Domain in Melbourne. The
00:53incident is under police investigation and Independent Senator Lydia Thorpe
00:57wants it to be investigated as a hate crime.
