00:00Previously on My Big Fat Fabulous Life.
00:06Like that.
00:07Have we found out if you're pregnant or not?
00:09It's too early to test, but fingers crossed.
00:12I have 1,250 likes.
00:14If I can find a geographic location where the men are looking good, I'll just go there.
00:19How far is your location?
00:2160 miles outside of Greensboro.
00:23I know it seems weird that I'm even on the apps right now considering that I'm actively also trying to get pregnant.
00:27The thing is, I still don't have any time to waste.
00:29So I'm going to pursue both things at once and hope at least one of them sticks.
00:33Please enter solemnly.
00:35We are here to remember Henshi.
00:38What?
00:40What is this?
00:41It's a stuffed exact replica of Henshi.
00:44This is the best thing that's ever happened to me.
00:46Aw.
00:47Last time we all saw each other was a year ago.
00:49I feel like when you're 40 and you're in your hometown, like, how am I going to make new friends?
00:53Greensboro's been ran through.
00:55Yeah, I think I've got to get out.
00:57I don't think I need to be here in Greensboro.
01:00I don't have a husband here.
01:01I don't have children here.
01:02I don't have a job that ties me here.
01:04So if I can't get pregnant, I'm leaving.
01:09Hi, Ollie.
01:10Don't talk to him that way.
01:11Hi Ollie. Don't talk to him that way. He's horrible and I did not even let him attend
01:38Hinchy Fune. What? That's his brother. Only two people who didn't come up. Hinchy Fune, you and Ollie.
01:45What is this? Oh, baby. Does it not feel like him? You love this more than you love Ollie, don't you?
01:53Absolutely. Is it made of his hair? No. Buddy gave that to me at the funeral and I was so confused
01:58because Hinchy's ashes are there. Uh-huh. Oh. So like I literally thought, did he call the vet and
02:04like retrieve the body? Then what's in there? Exactly. I was like, confusion. Oh, what a
02:11wonderful, thoughtful. Isn't it gorgeous? And I really do see and feel him. It does. Unfortunately
02:17for Ashley, she was sick and missed out on Hinchy's funeral, but I am feeling so much better now that
02:24we have honored the big fat boy and I'm very thankful to my friends that came and to Buddy
02:28for giving me this memento of Hinchy's life and making my taxidermied cat dreams come true.
02:35I brought, so I had, and they're not expired, um, some pregnancy tests that are not from the store
02:42where everything is a dollar. Yeah. Six days sooner than your missed period. So let me see what day I'm
02:47actually supposed to start my period. Hold on. Well, if it's any time within the next couple days,
02:50it's okay to take it. I think it's tomorrow. Yeah, it's tomorrow.
02:54I was planning on taking a pregnancy test when my period was like obviously late because I've
03:01been trying not to get my hopes up. However, these are early indicator tests. So if I'm pregnant,
03:07this test should work. And hopefully it's the result that I'm looking for. Todd! You got to open
03:13his door. I'm about to go tell him about taking me a pregnancy test. Do I take two or just one?
03:18I would just take one to start. Now I actually, I'm not, it could be psychosomatic, but I did,
03:23uh, have some nausea and some vomiting. But you know, my first thing was boobs. How your boobs
03:27feel? No, I don't feel anything in my boobs. Do you? You got me. All right. Good luck.
03:38This is like a crazy moment. I'm so excited. So excited, but I feel very nervous. Like I'm about
03:46to pee on this stick and I want the result to be a yes. Mommy's peeing on a stick.
04:01I'm trying to manage my expectations here because it is literally my first time trying artificial
04:06insemination, but I'm scared, especially with how expensive it is. Also in the back of my mind,
04:12I'm thinking, well, I tried this at the right time and I did it with intention. So what if it worked?
04:20I mean, it's waiting now. Okay. It's one to five minutes. Oh, hilarious. It does. It says unique
04:25stoplight. Tells you when enough samples. That's funny. Cause I barely peed at all.
04:30I didn't think it was going to be enough. Doesn't take much. Where's Todd? I don't know.
04:34Oh my God. Like what if Whitney is pregnant? I forgot about like just the excitement around
04:41taking pregnancy tests. I feel like it's like something we did in our twenties. You know,
04:46we're 40 now. I thought these days were over. Just the thought of having a little Whitney running
04:51around, like it's wild. So if I'm not pregnant, then I feel like I have to do a whole new redirection
04:59and I definitely cannot go further South. I'd have to go up North. I'd have to go like literally
05:03for just for climate. I could, there's no way I could ever live somewhere that's hotter than here.
05:07Why are you talking about moving? Because I just don't, I just, I don't want to be here. Honestly,
05:11I feel, look, we don't have a friend group anymore. It's totally disintegrated. That's a little bit
05:16what happens when people start having kids. People think it will. I thought it wouldn't. I thought
05:20surely I'll just have them in tow. Well, no. You know how often you see me? No. Yeah. And I want to like be with
05:25my babies. See, it's like I'm that way anyway and I don't even have a baby.
05:29I think Whitney so enjoys traveling and it like gives her this burst of energy. She thinks if she
05:39moves, that might be what it feels like all the time. But like that is only going to last so long.
05:45And especially if she's going to have a baby, like I really want Whitney to just kind of stay put
05:50and have her support system. Like, are you really going to have a baby and just go gallivanting across
05:56the country, across the world? You want me to check the test or you want to go?
06:02Has it been? How long do we have to wait? One to five minutes. You can get it, but don't look at it
06:06until you get back. Don't look at it until I get back. Okay. Goosey, are you going to find out if you're
06:11going to have another little brother or sister? I think it's a sister. Oh, interesting. I kind of feel
06:17pregnant. Well, that's a sign. Okay. Ooh, I'm holding something you peed on. I put the cap on. Ugh, I don't trust your flow.
06:29It is wild that I could literally already be pregnant with my own son or daughter right now.
06:37Like, the way my life could literally just be turned completely upside down in a matter of moments,
06:43there is no moment like this, ever.
06:46Okay, I'm going to count down from three. You ready?
06:48Okay. Wait, three, two, one, show or three, two, one? Or three, two, show?
06:52Three, two, one, show, but I probably won't say show. I'll just move my hands.
06:56Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
07:00This is my last moment as a not mother. Todd? Huh? Come on in here. You're about to become an uncle.
07:09Well, unless you're somebody with an ultrasound that's going to show me, like, a face, then I'm not going to believe it.
07:13All right. Okay, wait. No, no, no, no, wait. I'm not ready. I'm not ready. I'm not ready.
07:16It's very strange. I've taken so many pregnancy tests in life and I have never in my life felt excited.
07:20I've always wanted it to be negative. It's always been dreaded. And now I want it to be positive.
07:23And I just can't even believe, like, we know the answer. And it's already done. Do you know what I'm saying?
07:26Yeah. It's not like it hasn't happened yet. Like, it's already done. I'm either pregnant or I'm not.
07:29Look at Wanda. Wanda is ready for the results. I am, too. Okay.
07:35Okay. Yeah. All right. Are we ready? Yeah. You can't see with your eyes closed.
07:40I'm going to open them. All right. Three, two, one.
07:57Not. Are you okay? Yeah.
08:00See, I think this is such a great experience to reinforce how badly you want this.
08:07Yeah, look how much hope you obviously had or you wouldn't be disappointed.
08:09Exactly. And I know you, when you want something badly, you will make it happen.
08:14And there are so many different ways to go about it. And you have some...
08:19But I don't feel like I have more time and I don't feel like I have any other ways.
08:23Well, that's just not the truth. I feel like this is it.
08:25A lot can happen.
08:27I was really, really hoping that my life was going to change in this moment.
08:36And I was going to find out, you know, that I was going to become a mom.
08:40And unfortunately, it's like life's just the same as it was 10 minutes ago.
08:46I'm still single, still not pregnant, still not really happy in general, like, with where I am in life.
08:57So...
09:01Yeah, it's just back to the drawing board.
09:04There's still time.
09:17Oh, arms out.
09:18Oh, my God, that was so good.
09:21How many times did you try before you got it?
09:23Three.
09:25Why are you not falling flat?
09:28It's like you're just doing too much.
09:31What are you trying to do?
09:32We're trying to, um, bounce on the ball.
09:34I can do that.
09:35Let's see it.
09:36Bounce on it.
09:37All right, that's probably good.
09:40Oh, yes!
09:41Yes!
09:42Gorgeous.
09:43Yes.
09:44Go, bitch.
09:45Wow.
09:46Yes.
09:47Should I try?
09:48Please.
09:49Do it, Whitney.
09:50Please show me off.
09:51I can't even fall on it.
09:52One thing I won't be doing is trying to hurl myself over a medicine ball for everyone else's enjoyment.
09:57I will not.
09:58What you're supposed to do is go all the way up, get back into a handstand, spin around, and then do it again.
10:03So I'm gonna take it that you're not pregnant.
10:05No.
10:06Doing that.
10:07Okay.
10:08No.
10:09All right.
10:10What about you?
10:11No.
10:12I know trying to conceive when you've tried and it hasn't worked out can be, like, really daunting.
10:17And honestly, it kind of makes you feel really lonely and scared.
10:21But I hope Whitney doesn't give up after her first try.
10:24I still have two vials left.
10:26Are you gonna do them yourself or are you gonna go to the doctor?
10:29The only reason I say I feel like maybe you should go to the doctor is because I feel like they know where to put it.
10:34Well, there's only so many places where it can go.
10:36I know, but, like, the fertility clinic here is great.
10:39When they insert it, they know exactly where to insert it to.
10:42And I think it wouldn't hurt to just let them try.
10:44Just go to the doctor.
10:45Yeah, you're right.
10:46I purchased three vials of sperm and it was extremely exorbitantly expensive.
10:53For my next try, I'm gonna have the doctor try to inseminate me because I think that is going to give me the best chance possible of getting pregnant.
11:01Hopefully, I'll have no need to even think about trying a third time.
11:06I hate to tell Ashley this, but, uh, the womb preparation ceremony was .
11:11Oh, no.
11:12The things that we did and I didn't get no baby out of it.
11:15Okay, so I looked it up.
11:18There are way more spells and things that we can do, so this is how I feel.
11:22We take a girl's trip.
11:23Okay.
11:24I like it already.
11:25We take a girl's trip and I've already planned the whole thing.
11:27Okay.
11:28We go to Boston first.
11:29Ruth from Pineapple, well, she had said that I should go up to see Boston Ballet.
11:33Oh, okay.
11:34Is that like a fancy affair?
11:36Girl, please.
11:37Oh, okay.
11:38The ballet.
11:39So we can dress up?
11:40Yes.
11:41It's like going to the opera.
11:42Yeah.
11:43Okay.
11:44And we drive over to Salem, the home of witchcraft.
11:47Okay.
11:48We do some witch .
11:49Hell yeah.
11:50We do a real spell.
11:51Hell yeah.
11:52Now, these two girls, I don't know them in real life, but I've talked to them on the phone
11:54before.
11:55Corinne and Sabrina, they do this podcast and they're like baby witches.
11:58And so I'm going to ask them, are they free?
12:00And do they want to hang out?
12:01Oh my gosh.
12:02This is all planned out.
12:03Shut up.
12:04Because we got to get rid of our coochie haint.
12:06Okay.
12:07While I was at Pineapple Dance Studios in London, I took a ballet class for the first time in
12:1322 years.
12:14And the instructor, Ruth, suggested that I should go up to Boston and see the Boston Ballet.
12:18It'll be perfect.
12:19It'll be a new experience, a new city, a new state, things to explore.
12:24It'll be just what I need.
12:27You said girls trip.
12:28Who's going?
12:29Me, you.
12:30Reckon we should invite Ashley, but as long as we tell her she's not the one doing the
12:33spells no more.
12:34She is returned from the spells.
12:35It's a haint, bitch.
12:37Oh my God.
12:40This is a dream come true.
12:41This is a yes?
12:42Yes.
12:43My secret passion is that I learn witchcraft.
12:48If anyone knows me, then they know that I'm way into all things magic.
12:52So I can't wait to get to Salem and maybe see some ghosts, maybe get a haint.
12:57I don't know.
12:58We'll see.
12:59All right.
13:00I got a client.
13:01I'll see y'all later.
13:02We'll keep you updated on the children thing.
13:05So Isaiah has a friend that he knows from college that is looking to meet somebody.
13:11Would you be interested in going on a double date?
13:13Is he cute?
13:14I don't know.
13:15I've never met him.
13:16Is he smart?
13:17I don't know.
13:18I've never met him.
13:19Well, I won't have time to go on the date because we'll be in Boston.
13:20We're going to go before you go to Boston, first of all.
13:23Why not?
13:24Just who cares?
13:25Whitney.
13:26What?
13:27I'm about to text Isaiah.
13:28What day would you want to go on a date?
13:30I don't.
13:31Well, okay.
13:32What day are you free?
13:33I'm not.
13:34Okay.
13:35Well, I'll plan it and I'll just let you know when to be there.
13:37All right.
13:38I'm about to text Isaiah now.
13:39A date in itself is bad enough.
13:41And then a blind date?
13:44I don't have high hopes, but I also don't want to let Isaiah down.
13:47And I know it might seem a little weird that I'm going to go on a date while I'm actively inseminating.
13:52However, I don't want to waste time, you know, where I could be meeting somebody, maybe.
13:57So I'm just going to do them at the same time and be efficient.
14:01And if I end up with a baby and a man at the same time, well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
14:06I'm not making any more decisions in life.
14:09I have a trip to plan.
14:14Guess who had made your ficus?
14:16Uh...
14:17Me and Tal.
14:18Yeah, we got into it too.
14:20But...
14:21Y'all got into it.
14:23Yeah, yeah, yeah.
14:24Oh my God.
14:25Give it to me.
14:26You said , man.
14:27Woo!
14:40Goosey smell flowers.
14:42Goosey smell flowers.
14:45Oh!
14:46Goosey smells buddy!
14:48Look who it is!
14:49Hello!
14:50It's Uncle Buddy!
14:51Hi, little sweet.
14:52What you doing?
14:53She just sweet is everything.
14:55I know.
14:56I was in town visiting my mom and Texas Whitney to meet up.
14:59After Hendry's funeral, I realized that, like, I don't know anything that's going on anymore.
15:04I live so far away.
15:05Goosey!
15:06This is Goosey's first, like, spring park walk.
15:10Courtney still have Scout?
15:12Well, I guess do y'all still have Scout?
15:14Yeah, yeah, yeah.
15:15Yeah, we have Scout.
15:16There's a handful.
15:17Do you and Courtney have any, like, plans to have kids?
15:20Yeah, yeah.
15:21Oh, yeah?
15:22Yeah, we're just in a one-bedroom right now, so...
15:23But are you trying?
15:24Mmm...
15:25Are you actively not trying or are you just seeing what happens?
15:28Our main focus right now, though, is getting out of the one-bedroom and into at least a two-bedroom house.
15:33Right.
15:34You gonna stay in Southern Pines?
15:35Southern Pines are closer to where she just got a job in West End.
15:38Oh, she got another job?
15:39Yeah, she is doing, like, the interior design for homes.
15:41Oh, but that's cool.
15:42Yeah.
15:43That's amazing.
15:44Working with a builder.
15:45Yeah.
15:46Huh.
15:47Isn't that interesting?
15:48It's like everybody's trying...
15:49Well, I don't know, everybody's trying to have a baby, but Jessica and Isaiah are trying still.
15:52Oh, yeah?
15:53Actually, at the funeral, Jessica and I both, we were hoping that we were maybe pregnant, but we're not.
16:00I've been artificially inseminating.
16:04Oh.
16:05It's crazy.
16:06It comes in, like, a nitrogen tank.
16:08That's huge.
16:09It's, like, this big.
16:10But the vials of the actual material are this big.
16:12Yeah.
16:13Yeah.
16:14That's what I do for work now is I deliver stuff like that.
16:18Oh, my God.
16:19I thought...
16:20No, yeah.
16:21It pays well.
16:22You're just a donor.
16:23No.
16:24No.
16:25So you do what?
16:26I...
16:27No, I just move medical samples and stuff like that.
16:28So, like, big, like, nitrogen containers and stuff like that.
16:31So you travel...
16:32You...
16:33Oh, my God.
16:34I'm so mad that you didn't deliver my sperm.
16:35I wish you had.
16:36That would have...
16:37You used to deliver me pizza.
16:38It's usually the, like, labs and stuff.
16:39Well, I was gonna say, you used to deliver me pizza years ago.
16:41I wish you had delivered my sperm.
16:42Oh, God.
16:43That would have been hysterical to me.
16:44It is hilarious to me that 12 years ago, Buddy was delivering me a pizza.
16:49Hey.
16:50Hey, Buddy.
16:51You knew I was hungry.
16:52Voila.
16:53What'd you do me?
16:54Little pet.
16:55And today, he could potentially be delivering me sperm.
16:59Things really come full circle.
17:01I'll clue you in on everything else since we haven't caught up in so long.
17:05Guess who had major ficus?
17:07Uh...
17:08Who?
17:09Me and Tal.
17:10Oh, really?
17:11Because he and Ashley had a big falling out, like, a year and a half ago.
17:14Mm-hmm.
17:15Well, he was at my house, and I told him I was about to see Ashley, and he lost his mind.
17:20Well, then we did come together and have a talk, and then I felt really bad for him, because he was talking about his mental health isn't doing good.
17:27Mm-hmm.
17:28He was, like, not in a place.
17:30Yeah, we got into it, too.
17:35But...
17:36Y'all got into it?
17:38Yeah, yeah, yeah.
17:39Ooh.
17:40Yeah.
17:41When?
17:42And about what?
17:44Eh, politics.
17:46Oh, my God.
17:47Give it to me.
17:48I'll just say it, but, uh...
17:49So what?
17:50He just attacked your political beliefs?
17:51But how?
17:52That's what got to me is, like, how he did it.
17:54What?
17:55He didn't like what you were posting on your social medias?
17:57Yeah, I guess so.
17:59He inquired, like, out of a place of concern, quote-unquote.
18:05Uh-huh.
18:06And then also called me unhinged.
18:08I know that I told him that...
18:10He said he was worried for my, uh...
18:11Pull up the text.
18:13Well, we'll just see here.
18:15Oh, my God.
18:16Yeah.
18:17A couple months ago, I posted something political.
18:20Tal disagreed, and he kind of came at me personally, I think.
18:25But everyone's entitled to their own opinion just because we disagree doesn't make me unhinged.
18:31So I went at him.
18:34So...
18:35It went from, hope you're good, hope you're good...
18:38To you're unhinged.
18:40He starts off with, I have no desire to argue with you.
18:43Okay.
18:44Right, but then, so...
18:45I worry about what this material meant to tell.
18:46Come at me nicer.
18:47He said, let me remind you that sobriety does not equal recovery.
18:51Oh!
18:52Actually, yes, it does.
18:53That's the whole thing.
18:54Oh!
18:55I got it.
18:56Off!
18:57Who said that?
18:58You did!
18:59Oh, yeah, yeah, probably.
19:01You said unhinged.
19:03Off, man.
19:04What?
19:05Yeah, right.
19:06You said, maybe you need some more training.
19:09He's still a therapist, right?
19:11Yeah.
19:12So he has no idea how to talk to people.
19:14Buddy!
19:15Yeah.
19:16No, this is sad.
19:17I go hard.
19:18I go hard.
19:19Don't come for me.
19:20Well, what the ?
19:21What were you all doing at the funeral?
19:22You looked fine.
19:23I didn't notice anything.
19:24We didn't see each other.
19:25Well, I mean, I did say that his thing was nice, his eulogy.
19:29I did not even notice.
19:31Lord Jesus.
19:33Now, I did not know that any of this was happening.
19:36So much ficus.
19:37So now Tal and Ashley are on the outs, and Tal and Buddy are not really good either.
19:45It is some .
19:46God bless him.
19:47He's been through it.
19:48And I'm not saying that Tal said that because he's not well right now.
19:51Like, I don't want to delegitimize his feelings or anything like that.
19:54But I don't think that, like, extra conflict is helping.
19:58Would you want to, like, talk to him at least?
20:00He said he would have talked to Ashley.
20:02I bet he'd talk to you.
20:03If you want, I'll ask him.
20:04Yeah, I mean, I'm certainly down to put it behind us as if he is.
20:09After seeing him at the funeral the other night, it was kind of like, eh, we can get over this, right?
20:13We can get past this.
20:14Oh, my.
20:15Well, I would just hate to leave it on, like, well, you, you know?
20:17Yeah, yeah.
20:18I don't want to deal with anybody.
20:20I'd be happy to talk to Tal.
20:22You know, you get to an age where it's just, you know, life's too short.
20:25What are we doing?
20:26So I'd love to talk to him, clear the air, agree to disagree.
20:31We can be grown-ups again.
20:33I don't know.
20:34To me, everything is different now.
20:36And, again, like, I'm not going to sit here and be like, we all need to be friends
20:39because, like, we're not all friends anymore.
20:40We're not, like, I have people I'm not friends with anymore.
20:42I think that's okay.
20:43I think we have to be okay with, like, knowing that people change, friendships change, dynamics change.
20:48I don't know.
20:49If Buddy is willing and open to talking to Tal, then I think they ought to do it.
20:55But I care about both of them.
20:57And I'm hoping that if they meet up and talk, they can at least get some sort of peace about the situation.
21:04And if they will let me mediate, then I say we have a meeting.
21:09God, what you think, Goose?
21:11You want to go explore?
21:12Yeah, Goosey's like, we came to the park, and now we've just decided, okay, let's go.
21:15Let's go explore, Goosey.
21:16She was looking judgmental at me a second ago.
21:18Yeah, I'm sorry, Goosey.
21:20We didn't do enough walking.
21:21I'm sorry, girl.
21:22I just don't love being here, you know what I mean?
21:24Well, where will you be going?
21:25I really love London.
21:27Well, you need to figure out.
21:28How much money does it take to move to London?
21:30First of all, you need to have a job in London.
21:32Well, I bet Pineapple would give me a job.
21:52Whitney.
21:53Hey.
21:54Hey, honey.
21:55What you doing?
21:56Well, I'm just cleaning out some of the stuff that I don't need, and not a word for these
22:03chairs.
22:04When was the last time you saw a chair this nice?
22:06These were better than the ones you had.
22:08You feel supported, but then your fat can spill out the side, see?
22:11So you feel contained, but you're also liberated.
22:15I have to say, my normal urge to purge, clean, organize, has gone into overdrive recently.
22:22I think this is a very common experience, you know?
22:24It's typical midlife crisis stuff, but I just feel an urgency to do something different.
22:28Well, you know, I was working out with Jessica, and she told me that you guys were going on
22:35a double date.
22:36Well, and I didn't want to do it.
22:38Well, I mean...
22:39I know.
22:40You ought to give it a try.
22:41I know, but not only have I never seen him and don't know anything about him,
22:44but he never seen me, don't know nothing about me.
22:46And one thing I know about me is that men are repulsed by me, and the other thing I
22:51know about me is that I'm very picky.
22:53So I don't think there's a good chance...
22:55Well, I mean...
22:56...anyway.
22:57You're never going to develop a relationship or get a relationship unless you try.
23:02You know, over the years, Whitney's had a lot of issues trying to find the right person,
23:06but she's never going to be able to find somebody unless she takes some chances.
23:11And I think Whitney needs to go into these opportunities on a more positive note.
23:17Like the old saying, I think you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.
23:23Having a date at this point, does that complicate your getting pregnant ambitions?
23:30Well, so I do already know that I'm not pregnant, unfortunately.
23:35Oh.
23:36Neither is Jess.
23:37Well, I was sort of getting excited about the possibilities.
23:40And if you did, you could really do a good job with a nursery.
23:46I guess I am feeling pretty dejected about not being pregnant.
23:53Seeing my dad actually excited about it, like, really makes me feel like I just failed.
24:00I don't want to wallow in it, but it's bringing up, like, a lot of feelings for me.
24:06You know, I've got that bed I spent so much time on for Hunter up in the attic.
24:13The crib?
24:14Baby bed, yeah.
24:15Oh, my God.
24:16Bring it over.
24:17And it's got the canopy on it.
24:19Bring it over.
24:20I want to see that.
24:22You know how many hours I spent on that thing?
24:24I can't imagine.
24:25A hundred.
24:26Over a thousand.
24:27You're joking.
24:28Every weekend.
24:29You were doing that, your mom's whole pregnancy?
24:31Yeah.
24:32Not sure how I feel.
24:35You know, I was getting excited about having a grandbaby again.
24:40I even pulled Hunter's old baby bed that I made out of the attic and dusted it off just in case.
24:46So it's an up and down emotion.
24:49But more than anything, I don't want to see Whitney disappointed.
24:54Goosey!
24:55Dad, she is in there eating Henchy.
24:58Oh, my God.
25:00Ma'am.
25:01Uh-uh.
25:02Now that is not toy.
25:03Ma'am.
25:06And I told her.
25:08Get uh-uh.
25:09Like a shark smelling blood in the water.
25:12And I told her that he was not a pet.
25:15Not a toy.
25:16Of hers.
25:17And feel his fur.
25:18Wet with saliva.
25:19She was just...
25:20Get off of him!
25:21Goosey!
25:22My God.
25:23Anyway, part of me thinks I shouldn't have spent all this money on all this stuff,
25:27because I might not be here much longer.
25:29What do you mean not like?
25:30I don't mean on the earth.
25:31I mean in this house.
25:33Well, where will you be going?
25:34Well, I don't know.
25:35Maybe I need a change in life.
25:37Maybe I want to be somewhere.
25:39Be somebody.
25:40Do something.
25:41If that's what makes you happy, I'm all for it.
25:44And I'd go back to my house.
25:45No.
25:46No.
25:47Anyway, this is a big if.
25:48Who knows?
25:49I'm just saying.
25:50I don't...
25:51I just don't love being here.
25:52You know what I mean?
25:53You don't.
25:54I'm going to love you.
25:57I have so much fun when I'm away.
25:59And I really, I really love London.
26:02Well, you need to figure out...
26:03How much money does it take to move to London?
26:05Well, first of all, you need to have a job in London.
26:08Well, I bet Pineapple would give me a job.
26:10Well, you need to work all that out before you decide to.
26:13Well, I know, but I'm just saying.
26:15And I'd be living in like a little apartment.
26:18Who knows what I want to do?
26:20I feel like I love the accents and I love the men.
26:23And I already have friends there.
26:25I think as a parent, one of the worst things that you deal with is your children not being happy.
26:31I don't want her to feel like she needs to stay in Greensboro just to look after me.
26:35I don't need her support like I once did.
26:38But the idea of moving someplace far away like London, that's a big move.
26:43So I hope she's not taking it too lightly.
26:51Ready for my matchmaking skills?
26:53No.
26:54Is he in there now?
26:55No, not yet.
26:56Oh, Lord Jesus.
26:57Going out with someone that you have literally never seen
26:59and sounds like the most horrible thing I can possibly think of.
27:02Oh, he's here.
27:03Do I?
27:04Okay, I'm supposed to, do I stand up?
27:05Let's not be awkward.
27:06John, what's up, my friend?
27:25Hi.
27:26Hi.
27:27You guys are so beautiful.
27:28I can't.
27:29Winnie, so are you.
27:30No.
27:31It's so nice to actually talk to you and like hear your voice and your face.
27:35I know.
27:36It's the cutest person.
27:37It's how weird to feel like we're friends but have never met in person.
27:39I know.
27:40I didn't know that we were going to be moving on to a FaceTime.
27:42So I'm like, oh my God, it's like getting official, right?
27:45Big steps in our relationship.
27:47A few years ago, I started listening to this podcast called Two Girls, One Ghost.
27:52It's hosted by these two amazing women, Sabrina and Corinne.
27:56And it's just like witchy stuff, paranormal stuff, spooky stuff, like all the stuff that I love.
28:03So not long ago, I actually reached out to them online and we've just become really friendly.
28:09But we've never FaceTimed until now.
28:12The reason I was calling is basically like I'm going up to Boston.
28:15I'm going to be there next week.
28:17I'm bringing my friends and none of us have ever really been to Boston.
28:20I was thinking like, you know, what am I going to do?
28:24Do I know anybody up there or whatever?
28:26And immediately I was like, oh my God, Corinne and Sabrina are there.
28:28Oh my God, I have to try to meet them if you want to.
28:31Yes!
28:32Oh my God.
28:33And where are y'all?
28:34We are like 40 minutes north of Boston, right next to Salem.
28:40Oh, you're right next to Salem?
28:41Yeah.
28:42Oh, fun.
28:43If you want recommendations for Salem, we don't have them written down.
28:46They just exist in our mind.
28:47Right.
28:48We could also be your tour guides.
28:51Salem is known as like witch city.
28:53I mean, it has all of the stuff that I'm into.
28:56And now I also get to meet my two favorite podcasters who I hope will become my best friends.
29:01And I'm so excited.
29:02Do you want to get into the witchy stuff when you're here?
29:05Oh, duh.
29:06No, all of it.
29:07Like, take me to hell.
29:09I mean.
29:10You just like struck a chord in my mind.
29:13Be careful what you wish.
29:14I know, God.
29:15Should we all get together and do a seance?
29:17Yes.
29:18Absolutely.
29:19Oh, my.
29:20We've never done one before either.
29:21Oh, you haven't.
29:22We're like seeking this out to learn about it because we are like baby witches and we're
29:25trying to learn about all of these different practices and see what feels right.
29:28And so this will be new for us too.
29:30Oh, my God.
29:31I'm so excited.
29:32I need this.
29:33I love to travel and I just, I spent a lot of time in London recently and I had the best
29:38time and then I came home.
29:39Like, every time I come home from traveling, I'm just like, oh, my God.
29:42Like, what is this?
29:43What is, what is Greensboro?
29:44I just feel so, ugh, bored and stagnant.
29:48I am so excited.
29:49Thank you so much for all the ideas.
29:51It's really cool to find people with like similar interests and I get to travel somewhere
29:57and learn about the history.
29:58I just feel like really excited about something new in life to sink my teeth into.
30:05I'm so glad that you're just as nice on the phone as you are on my, on my phone also, but on your podcast.
30:14I will see you guys so soon.
30:16Amazing.
30:17Perfect.
30:18Okay, thanks.
30:19Okay, bye.
30:20Bye.
30:35I can't walk.
30:36Well, you might have to run.
30:37She's sore.
30:38My quads are so sore.
30:39She did four rips.
30:40I did not.
30:41I did 12.
30:42Ooh, all brown.
30:43Y'all look pretty.
30:45Hey, my love.
30:46Hey, baby.
30:47Hello, my love.
30:48What's up?
30:49How are you doing?
30:50Good.
30:51You ready for my matchmaking skills?
30:52No.
30:53Is he in there now?
30:54No, not yet.
30:55Oh, Lord Jesus.
30:56I don't know how this started exactly, but I think Isaiah is now fashioning himself as some
31:04sort of, like, love doctor matchmaker, and he's got me out here on this double date with
31:09him and Jess and his friend, John, that he wants me to go out with.
31:13And honestly, I don't think I care about disappointing John, but a big part of me just, like, doesn't
31:18want to disappoint Isaiah.
31:20I almost didn't come.
31:21What?
31:22We have to try.
31:23You miss every shot you don't shoot.
31:25Jess shot for me.
31:27She saw you, though.
31:28I don't know who this is.
31:29Let's go.
31:30Nobody told me I look nice or nothing.
31:31I already told you when y'all walked up.
31:33Going out with someone that you have literally never seen and who literally has never seen
31:37you sounds like the most horrible thing I can possibly think of.
31:41And honestly, my mind is just not on this blind date right now.
31:44I'm still thinking about trying to get pregnant.
31:46And it feels weird to do this.
31:47We're not expecting another guest, right?
31:49Yep, we are.
31:50We are?
31:51We are.
31:52Or else I'm getting stood out tonight.
31:53Wouldn't be a first, but...
31:54You should be here shortly.
31:55So here's the mania.
31:57The PTSD is real.
31:58Whitney, relax.
32:00Whitney's dating life has been such a struggle.
32:03So I'm really glad that we can help her get back out there.
32:05Plus, it'll be nice for Isaiah and I to get out, too.
32:08I've just been working and missing my dad so much.
32:10So I think it's good for me to get out of the house and do something.
32:13So tell us about this guy.
32:15What do we need to know about him?
32:17He, uh, he's a realtor.
32:18How'd you meet him?
32:19College.
32:20I thought y'all would be a good match.
32:21Just because he has a heartbeat or...
32:23Yeah.
32:24Say it.
32:25And he said you.
32:26God.
32:27I'm just kidding.
32:28Whitney really wants a man, but she's been striking out left and right.
32:33If this works out, they really need to call me the love doctor, because I got the cure.
32:40Oh, by the way, there is no talk of the fact that I am currently inseminating and dating.
32:46Have you decided when a good time would be to discuss that?
32:50If I'm being honest, I don't assume I'm going to meet anybody, so I'm not even thinking about that.
32:55Well, you're meeting somebody tonight.
32:56Well, you're about to meet somebody tonight.
32:57Who wants to see me again?
32:58I'm just saying.
32:59You never know.
33:00I like John.
33:01It's only one way to find a man of your dreams.
33:04I wish I felt more confident, but honestly, I am incredibly picky with men that I can see.
33:10So knowing that I'm going out on a date with a man that I haven't seen makes me feel like the rate of success is going to be very low.
33:19So are you going to get another cat?
33:21Or a dog.
33:22Why don't you get another dog?
33:23No.
33:24Or a baby.
33:25Well, you might have a baby on the way.
33:29I won't say it no more once he gets here.
33:31Oh, I thought you said, I won't say it no more.
33:32That's him.
33:33And I was like, what?
33:34No, that is.
33:35No, shut up.
33:36Is he walking in?
33:37Yeah.
33:38Oh, he's here.
33:39Oh, Lord Jesus.
33:40Here we go.
33:41I do not want to be here or do this.
33:43Do I?
33:44Okay, let's go.
33:45Do I stand up?
33:46Let's not be awkward.
33:47John, what's up, my friend?
33:54Oh, he's here.
33:55Do I?
33:56Okay, let's go.
33:57Do I stand up?
33:58Let's not be awkward.
33:59John, what's up, my friend?
34:00Good to see you.
34:01This is Whitney.
34:02Whitney, John.
34:03Good to meet you.
34:04This is my wife, Jessica.
34:05Jessica, this is John.
34:06Nice to meet you, John.
34:07Have a seat.
34:08I haven't been on a date in a very long time.
34:10I have to be honest, I'm happier that it's a double date, because at least Jessica and
34:13Isaiah will be here, and maybe that'll help ease some of the awkward tension that I'm
34:18sure John and I are going to feel.
34:21It's so wonderful to meet you.
34:22I've heard a lot of great things.
34:23Oh, really?
34:24See?
34:25I don't know if I would trust Isaiah, honestly.
34:29Would you?
34:30I don't know.
34:31I don't know.
34:32You never know what's going to come out of Isaiah.
34:33You trust me with your life.
34:34You already married.
34:35You already gave it away.
34:36You are Jessica's emergency contact, and that's terrifying.
34:38Yeah.
34:39I met Isaiah in undergrad, and we've kept in touch here and there over the years, but it
34:43had been a while since we last talked, so when he called me up for this blind date,
34:46I was kind of taken by surprise, but I figured I only have one life.
34:49Might as well live it and just see where things go.
34:53So, do you have any brothers or sisters?
34:57I actually have two half-sisters.
34:59Quite a bit older than me.
35:00Actually, I think one's going on 50 right now.
35:03Oh.
35:04Did you grow up around here?
35:05Born and raised.
35:06I went to Grimsley and then went to UNCG.
35:08Oh, okay.
35:09Yeah.
35:10I actually studied kinesiology.
35:11Oh, very cool.
35:12Yeah.
35:13We have a fitness app.
35:14We do.
35:15So.
35:16Usually, when Whitney feels awkward, she, like, doesn't shut up and tends to overshare,
35:22but right now in this moment, she's not saying anything, and it's so weird.
35:27I can't date this guy for you.
35:29You okay?
35:31Mm-hmm.
35:32What's wrong?
35:33Okay.
35:34I got to be honest.
35:36He is perfectly nice.
35:38It's not that I find him unattractive or anything like that, but I do not feel excited.
35:42I do not feel confident.
35:44I just feel absolutely nothing, and that's not a good sign.
35:48So what sports did you play?
35:49For, like, the past seven or eight years, I've really been into badminton.
35:52Oh.
35:53So we actually have a...
35:54I actually love badminton.
35:55Do you really?
35:56I do.
35:57Look, I just have...
35:58Look, I've got a...
35:59Oh, in my cart.
36:00Hold on.
36:01I'll show you.
36:02Stop.
36:03No comment.
36:04That's impressive.
36:05Okay.
36:06Where are you putting that?
36:07I don't know.
36:08I thought I'd put it in the backyard.
36:09You should come to our badminton club.
36:10Oh, you have a badminton club?
36:11Typically, we play, like, five times a week.
36:13I mean, we have some really competitive people there.
36:14I didn't really see it as being, like, a competitive thing, but I'm a very competitive person.
36:18Do you have any beginners who do that?
36:20There's some beginners.
36:21There's some beginners.
36:22It would get spicy in there.
36:26I think if anyone has badminton in common, then they should probably give it a chance,
36:31because I've never known anyone to be into badminton than these two seem to be.
36:36I think that that's a sign that maybe there could be something there.
36:40So do you travel a lot?
36:41Hmm.
36:42What's been your top three favorite places?
36:43Spain.
36:44Maybe Switzerland.
36:45Honestly, Alaska.
36:46I loved Alaska so much.
36:48I feel like I would hate the cold.
36:50Are you hot-natured or cold-natured?
36:51I prefer the heat.
36:52I'm always, like...
36:53I'm gonna tell you right now, it's been really nice to meet you, John.
36:57No, but tell him I'm not lying.
37:00I am such a hot...
37:01No, she's...
37:02She is.
37:03We're the same way, though.
37:04The house is always the temperature you wanted.
37:05When I see Elijah Ray show up at the house, I'm like, for what?
37:08The baby-making outfits.
37:09Okay.
37:10They're trying for a baby, currently.
37:13Have you been married?
37:14No.
37:15No.
37:16Do you want kids?
37:17Eventually.
37:18I feel like maybe a couple years.
37:20Yeah.
37:21Maybe three or four years.
37:22I've even thought about adopting.
37:24That's great.
37:25What if you met somebody who already had a kid?
37:28You would, like, be interested in adopting their kid?
37:30It just really depends on the situation.
37:32You know?
37:33Just see how it goes.
37:34See how things unfold.
37:35How long have y'all been married?
37:36Four years?
37:37Almost three.
37:38But we met almost ten years ago.
37:40Wow.
37:41That was, like, when I met Whitney, too.
37:43All of us.
37:44I met both of y'all because of Dad.
37:46Mm-hmm.
37:47Just as Dad just passed away, like, a month ago.
37:56Aw.
37:57I'm sorry.
37:58Today's been really hard.
37:59I'm sorry.
38:00I'm sorry.
38:01I'm sorry.
38:02I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick.
38:03I'll be right back.
38:04Okay.
38:07I'm nervous.
38:08I'm gonna go.
38:09Yeah, she's always followed in his footsteps.
38:12So it's been tough.
38:17Okay.
38:19I just don't wanna do this anymore.
38:22I don't wanna do it without him.
38:24Oh, no.
38:25This is just...
38:26I want my daddy back.
38:27Ugh.
38:28I've seen Jessica like this before in private,
38:31but for her to be like this in public,
38:33it means it's really, really bad,
38:35and I feel so awful for her.
38:37Today's just been one of those days.
38:39Feels like your whole center of gravity's gone.
38:42Yeah.
38:45You know how they say that grief comes in waves,
38:47and right now, tonight, it's just hit Jessica
38:50like a tsunami?
38:51I do know that you're gonna get through it,
38:53and this is one thing that I actually do know
38:55from experience, you know?
38:58Yeah.
38:59And one day, it's gonna feel lighter,
39:01and you're not gonna feel this.
39:03How am I gonna survive?
39:05That is gonna pass.
39:06Okay.
39:07My dad was...
39:10He was my best friend.
39:12I just can't believe he's gone.
39:14I don't know.
39:16I just miss him a lot.
39:18It just seems really unfair.
39:20You are doing so good.
39:24I know you don't feel like it, but you are.
39:27All right.
39:28I love you.
39:29I love you, too.
39:30As absolutely average as this date has been,
39:35I do not want to torture my friend
39:38by having to sit through this any longer
39:40while she's dealing with these emotions.
39:42Yeah.
39:43Well, I hate to do it, but I think I'm ready to go home.
39:47Yeah, girl.
39:48Let's go.
39:49Sorry this is the note we're ending on.
39:51No, it's okay.
39:52You can tell John's a sensitive guy.
39:54He doesn't care.
39:55I appreciate that.
39:56I think Whitney's a really lovely person,
39:58but I don't know if the chemistry was quite there,
40:01but I'm willing to give everything a second try,
40:03and maybe it'll play out differently if it's one-on-one
40:05instead of in a double-date situation.
40:07Which way are you?
40:09I parked over at the parking garage.
40:11Yeah.
40:12Well, it was so nice to meet you.
40:13It was great to meet you.
40:14I'm a hugger.
40:15Okay.
40:16Very nice to meet you.
40:17Thank you for coming.
40:18Nice to meet you.
40:19Yeah.
40:20All right. Bye.
40:21All right.
40:22You want to go this way?
40:23Yeah.
40:24John does seem great.
40:25It was actually better than so many dates could have gone
40:27that I do owe it to, like, give it another chance
40:30and maybe do something fun and see how it goes.
40:33Well, he was perfectly nice.
40:34No, he was great.
40:35I liked him.
40:36Very nice.
40:37I would hang out with him again.
40:38I feel like with everything going on
40:40in everyone's lives right now,
40:41we could really all use a break.
40:43And this trip to Boston and Salem
40:45literally cannot come soon enough.
40:50Well, thank you.
40:51I appreciate that.
40:53It was nice.
40:54Here we come, witches!
40:56Next time on My Big Fat Fabulous Life.
40:58We're channeling demons, Angie.
41:00We're not calling daemons.
41:02Daemons.
41:03No, it's not daemons.
41:05The .
41:07Corinne and Sabrina have agreed to show us
41:08all the spooky stuff around Salem.
41:11If there are any spirits here
41:12and you would like to introduce yourselves.
41:14Are you looking for me?
41:15Ooh.
41:16I don't know.
41:19There's actually a spirit trying to communicate
41:22with us in this house.
41:23Somebody has a death in their family.
41:25There's a man here.
41:26He thinks this is weird.
