00:18You know what? It's going to be a surprise for me because I don't know who's performing exactly. I know who's being honored.
00:26Now, what do you have to say about tonight's on a ring?
00:28I love it. Lots of legends are in the house and being honored.
00:32I am, first of all, honored to be able to present to a legend tonight as well. Yes.
00:38Absolutely. You know, as one of our R&B queens, you have really always held it down for the Caribbean artists, collaborating with them throughout your entire career.
00:45What draws you to those sounds?
00:47You know, the Caribbean was a part of my childhood, and it's a feel-good vibe.
00:51I do know this for a fact. You know, it's high-frequency music, so it brings joy.
00:57It brings celebration. It brings culture. You can hear it. You can taste it. You can smell it. You know, you can feel it.
01:04And I'm a dancer as well at birth. So there's nothing like Caribbean music, you know.
01:10And a lot of music in the United States. I love it. But it needs a little bit more joy.
01:16So I think I've always been drawn to positivity and celebration because of that in the Caribbean.
01:22Absolutely. We've got a couple of singles from you this year. What else can we expect from you musically this year, Maya?
01:28Yes. So I have a new album coming. But, you know, I'm doing some remixes now off of the two singles that I just released.
01:36And some more music is also on the way. Beanie Man and I are celebrating 25 years of Girls Dumb Sugar.
01:42But we also have a new collab coming as well. So I'll be back in Jamaica to shoot the video.
01:48So I'm so excited. Yes. We are so excited to see it. Cannot wait to join you inside tonight.
