00:10What does it feel for you to be a four-time nominee this year for the very first time
00:14that we're actually in the Caribbean for the CMAs?
00:17You know, I mean, most of all in this entire event, I'm just happy that we could be here
00:20and celebrate each other. You know what I mean? As much as, you know, being nominated
00:24is great. It's just good to see everybody under one roof, not just the English-speaking,
00:28not just soca, it's dance hall, it's kumpa, it's all the Caribbean coming together.
00:33And I think that really does not happen very often, you know? So I'm happy to witness it here in
00:39Trinidad,
00:39you know, being home. Good times, man.
00:41It's incredible. Yeah, for sure.
00:42You know, you've been killing it this year with this Roots Rock Soca Tour.

00:45Do you have a favorite memory from this experience?
00:47Man, I have to say, Stevie Wonder this year, man.
00:49I mean, come on! What are we talking about?
00:51That's the highlight of your career!

00:55What was that like?
00:56Stevie was, I mean, it was a surprise for one. I wasn't really, we didn't really know it was going
01:00to happen, and Stevie was the first record I ever played, like ever in my life, you know?
01:05So for him to really come on stage and for us to sing, and he sang in Savannah Grass,
01:10which is my dad's song.
01:11Oh my gosh.
01:12And it was my dad that introduced me to Stevie, you know?
01:15Full circle, man.

01:16Multiple levels, too.
01:16So I was really happy, and you know, I mean, it was just one of those things that told me
01:21that,
01:21yo, the frequency is correct.

01:24And you know, obviously, Masterpiece going crazy this year.

01:27We've got to get you on these dance songs a bit more frequently, man.

01:34But I love dancehall, too, and I love to jump on a few rhythms, you know?

01:39And all the producers in Jamaica who open their doors to everybody else, you know what I mean?
01:46They can keep it to Jamaica, and they'll still be popping, but the reality is that they believe
01:51in that connection, you know, with everyone, and I'm really happy for that.
