USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley discusses what he has seen from running back Waymond Jordan

00:00What have you seen from Wayman and Jordan so far?

00:03He's an impressive guy.

00:05He's smooth.

00:08He makes a lot of things look pretty easy.

00:13He's kind of one of those guys, when you watched him in junior college,

00:16that it almost doesn't look like he's trying that hard.

00:19Obviously, he is, but it kind of has an effortless quality to him.

00:23And he's done a good job coming in and learning our stuff.

00:25Both he and Eli really have a real professional mindset.

00:30They came in here for a reason, and they're both, you can tell,

00:33very far along in terms of the number of months that they've been with us.

00:36Coach, I wanted to ask you about Eli and Wayman.

00:38When we got to practice, we got to see them practicing a little bit of kick returns.

00:41Obviously, this early, are you kind of just looking at what different guys

00:44can kind of bring to that facet of the game?

00:46Or is someone like Eli, with his explosiveness,

00:48can you see using him moving forward?

00:50We definitely can see using him.

00:51I mean, there's no question.

00:52He's one of the best guys that we have in terms of the ball in his hands

00:57and having the ability to create explosive plays.

01:00The guy, he catches the ball very well.

01:03So, yeah, he, Wayman, and a handful of other guys,

01:06we're going to toy around with this spring and see what fits.

01:10But, yeah, certainly not hard to imagine Eli having a big role there.

01:14What are your thoughts on Dunn and Payne at tackle or the two youngest?

01:17Yeah, Dunn's very, very athletic, kind of like we thought.

01:21We thought he was one of the more athletic guys that we signed,

01:24and you could see that right away.

01:26We've tried to work him a little bit both positions.

01:29Payne's done a nice job coming in and learning our stuff as well.

01:32I mean, he's a strong kid.

01:33He came out of a really good program.

01:36So, yeah, been pleased with what we've seen.

01:38It's a battle right now against our defensive line.

01:41But those guys have not backed down.

01:43They're going to continue to clean up stuff as we go.

01:45But they're both off to a good start.
