00:00Hello everyone, welcome to the 5th race of La Vuelta.
00:30Yeah, we have a strong team for the team time if we are.
00:35I think after then if we get or we didn't get this jersey, it will be the same.
00:41We just push and do the best team time if we are as possible.
00:45And we will see when we cross the line what happens.
00:48But I think we will give all and then if we get or not get this jersey.
00:53Well, Visma Lisa bike won't be the only ones eyeing up the stage win and the red jersey.
00:58UAE also have a formidable TT line-up.
01:01I think everybody is doing well in our team.
01:04We are all feeling well and it's a discipline we tend to do well also.
01:09So yeah, we hope we have a good day tomorrow.
01:12It will be nice to have the red jersey in the team.
01:15So of course the differences are still not so big so everything is possible tomorrow.
01:20Well this is the 17th team time trial at La Vuelta since the year 2000.
01:29And the stress will be high on a day that could make or break some team's overall ambitions.
01:34The course is 24km long and flat without any major difficulties so we can expect some blistering average speeds.
01:41The times will be taken when the fourth rider from each team crosses the finish line.
01:50The team is setting off at four minute intervals in front of the Dali Theatre Museum with the best expected to cover the course in around 25 minutes at well over 55km an hour.
02:00Well Lotto were first down the ramp and the Belgian squad were clearly up for it.
02:04Riders dropping away as they hammered their way around Figures finally reaching the finishing
02:09straight with the minimum requirement of four riders.
02:11They set the early benchmark 25 minutes and 53 seconds.
02:16We just tried to go as hard as possible. 56 is quite hard especially on this course with some tricky corners especially in the recon they were wet so we couldn't test the turns all.
02:31And a lot of bumps in the road make it a bit sketchy in a team time trial we cannot see the road in front of you.
02:38The next five teams out including Picnic Postonel were unable to unseat Lotto.
02:45Lidl Trek though were among the stage favourites.
02:49The Americans with three national champions in their ranks including the green jersey of Mads Pedersen.
02:56They topped the timesheets at the first two intermediate checkpoints but then lost Carlos Verona after he crashed on this left-hander.
03:10Lidl Trek finishing with Pedersen, Giulio Ciccone, Dan Holler and Soren Crow Anderson and despite losing Verona they were still heading for the hot seat.
03:19The time's still green, still time in hand. That's enough for first place so far for Lidl Trek. 56.5km per hour, a time of 25 minutes 35 seconds.
03:32Among the next teams to go were Decathlon AG2R with Felix Gann and the French champion Bruno Armouray and the Ineos Grenadiers with Egan Bernal and Filippo Gannat.
03:43Well Decathlon ended up just eight seconds behind Lidl Trek while Ineos were only a single second down on the Americans at the second checkpoint.
03:51Fine margins indeed between the top teams and this one was going down to the wire.
03:58What a performance this has been from the Ineos Grenadiers. Kwiatkowski is leaving it all on the line. Well it goes from green, it turns red.
04:06No joy for Ineos then. Visma and Group Armour FDJ, the last two teams out on the course with Godu facing a tough battle to keep hold of that red jersey.
04:16UAE were just ahead of them and they knew they also had a chance to snatch the race lead if they put in a strong ride.
04:22Bad news though for Red Bull border hands grower. A spectacular crash for their Italian TT specialist Matteo Sobrero, we hope that he's okay.
04:31Even without him Red Bull ended up fourth fastest on the stage.
04:35UAE meanwhile had matched the best time through the first sector, that of Ineos.
04:41Visma a couple of seconds down but still in the fight, perhaps planning to hit hard in the final part of the course.
04:48Well that was apparently UAE's strategy as well, because after losing some time in the middle, they absolutely blasted their way through the final kilometres.
04:57Ayuso, Almeida, Björg and Soler clocking an eye-watering average speed of 56.8 kilometres an hour as they powered into the lead.
05:07Visma couldn't quite match that effort, but considering they were 18 seconds down at the second checkpoint, the Dutch squad did well to finally limit their losses to just eight seconds on the line, second behind UAE.
05:19Groupama FDJ gave it a good go, but even with the likes of Stefan Kung and Remy Cavanae, they shipped over 20 seconds, Godou losing the red jersey to Vingegaard.
05:34UAE taking their 74th win of the season and putting their leaders Ayuso and Almeida on the overall podium.
05:41UAE! UAE!
05:44UAE!
05:45I think we did a really perfect job and we deserve it as well.
05:48For the team atmosphere, to get even better I think is good, to give us confidence as well, but of course the gaps are small, doesn't mean really anything, but it's a good start.
05:58Vingegaard is once again the man that they'll be chasing.
06:02I'm super happy to be back in the red jersey, it's a beautiful jersey and of course I mean yesterday I lost it, but of course every day you have in the red jersey, in the leaders jersey is nice.
06:15Tomorrow is the first proper hard stage, so I guess tomorrow we have to be ready again and be ready for the fight.
06:23UAE winning by 8 seconds from Visma who are missing Axel Zingley and 9 from Lidl Trek with only 27 seconds separating the top 10 teams on the day.
06:36Vingegaard recovers the red jersey from Godou and now leads the UAE trio of Ayuso, Almeida and Suley by 8 seconds. Ciccone is 5th, 9 seconds back.
06:45There were no points attributed today, so Pedersen still has the green jersey by 2 points from Ethan Vernon.
06:52Similarly, Joao Nicolau remains the king of the mountains before a couple of big climbing days in Andorra.
07:00Ayuso has a 12 second lead over Giulio Pellizzari in the youth classification.
07:05Wednesday's 6th stage features the first Cat 1 climbs of this Vuelta as we head to Andorra.
07:10Join us for that tomorrow and thanks for watching.
