USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley discusses where Jahkeem Stewart will play on the field
Transcript
00:00Swimming with Mike is coming up this week.
00:03What's the impact that you've seen from that event?
00:05Very important.
00:06Obviously, near and dear to our program with, obviously, Jake Olson
00:09and then Alex Ruiz, who was my student manager when we came here.
00:12Both guys have been recipients.
00:14So to see it hit home for those guys,
00:16and those are two guys that are really important to the program.
00:20Obviously, Jake has become such a big ambassador for SC, for SC football.
00:24It's just incredible for anybody that's around him.
00:27And Alex has been tremendous as well and has got a really bright future.
00:31So, you know, appreciate the work that they've done for so many
00:33and especially our two guys here.
00:35For at least a little bit, so Jake Olson, break off with the defensive tackles.
00:39Have you figured out where he fits best yet?
00:41No, we're working them at both.
00:43Even his first padded practice took snaps both interior and on the edge,
00:47and he gives you some of that flexibility because the size is there
00:50to be able to place him inside.
00:52And we wondered a little bit about that, you know,
00:54just given the fact that he should be, you know, a junior in high school right now.
00:58And you throw him inside and he really hasn't had much problem.
01:01And on the edge, he's got the athleticism to certainly impact it there as well.
01:06So like a lot of these, you know, new guys,
01:09we're kind of trying to figure out where he best fits.
01:11And spring's a great time to get some work.
01:13And he's done a good job mentally learning
01:15and trying to progress himself to where he can get in there
01:18and rep at multiple positions, which isn't easy to do for a true freshman.
