00:00So more than two and a half million people signed a petition calling for leniency for the illegal migrant accused of killing three as he and his brother faced deportation.
00:10It says this, quote, this was a tragic accident, not a deliberate act.
00:14While accountability matters, the severity of the charges against him does not align with the circumstances of the incident.
00:20The driver has no prior record with fully cooperating with authorities.
00:24Here to react is former DHS secretary, executive vice president and chief strategy officer at America First Policy Institute, Chad Wolf.
00:31Chad, does he does he deserve sympathy?
00:35Do you agree with the two point five million who want leniency?
00:40I don't agree with that petition at all.
00:43No, this individual was here illegally, obviously doesn't speak the language.
00:47I probably had a very difficult time understanding road signs and the like and unfortunately killed three individuals.
00:54And so where's the sympathy for the victims here?
00:57We see this time and time again from the left is they will run to the side of the illegal alien committing an act or a crime of some kind.
01:06But they give little deference.
01:08They give little attention to the victims of those crimes as well.
01:12So we'll see what happens.
01:14The petition demands these three things, reasonable sentence, parole eligibility, alternative sentencing measures.
01:21Keep in mind, he was caught speeding and either he lied or other companies were involved with giving an illegal immigrant a commercial driver's license.
01:31So he was basically a moving time bomb, if you ask me.
01:36The other story we're covering this morning is Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
01:39Remember, he was immediately deported to El Salvador because suspected of being a MS-13 gang member, as well as being a two time domestic abuser.
01:48But they brought him back from El Salvador because the judge said that was the one one place he was in danger in.
01:54So now that he's back, he could be deported within 72 hours to Uganda or he could be reported to to Costa Rica.
02:04Your thoughts about how it's being handled and the sympathy he's starting to drum up.
02:08Well, again, the left, this is their, their, their cause, right?
02:14They're going to run to those that the Trump administration is simply enforcing the law on.
02:18I think it's important to remember Abrego Garcia came into the country around 2011 illegally.
02:23He got a final order of removal from an immigration judge in 2019 that says you have no legal right to be here in the United States and you must leave.
02:32He declined or he defied that order as well.
02:36And then he got a withholding of removal that said you could, we can send him anywhere except El Salvador.
02:41And I know the Trump administration disagrees with that.
02:43So if I'm the Trump team, obviously they're pursuing charges against him, human trafficking charges and the like.
02:49And I'm sure they want to see that through.
02:51But they also have the ability to remove him to another safe third country, Costa Rica, Uganda, or basically anywhere else in the world that we have agreements.
02:59And so they're likely going to do that.
03:01They should do that.
03:02He has no legal right to be here in the United States.
03:05Governor Westmore says, I want due process.
03:07I just simply want a court and a judge to decide what is going to be the future of his fate.
03:13And he said Donald Trump is making excuses for a broken immigration system instead of trying to fix it.
03:19What do you think about what the governor of Maryland said?
03:22Well, I think it's just wrong.
03:24You know, we talk about due process in this case.
03:27Bringer Garcia got his due process when he saw an immigration judge in 2019.
03:31That judge, again, I'll reiterate, said you don't have a legal right to be here in the United States and you must leave.
03:38And he defied that order.
03:39So the Trump team has the ability to remove this individual.
03:43Obviously, the little bit more, the circumstances are a little bit more complicated now.
03:48But the ability to remove this individual is not in question.
03:51It should not be in question.
03:52And you see all these people.
03:53You see the, you know, Democratic congressmen saying he must remain in his home, you know, here in Maryland.
03:59That is not his home.
04:00He is not a U.S. citizen.
04:01And so he needs to be removed from the country and likely will not be returning.
04:07All right.
04:08Former acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf, thanks so much.
